I know nothing about bulls other than they're big, powerful, aggressive and at times very angry. I understand that the bull fighters at one time were called clowns. I definitely wouldn't classify them as clowns and I definitely wouldn't call one of them a clown for fear of having the sh:t kicked out of me. Anyone that would get in an enclosed area with one or get on a bull and ride it has my utmost respect and I wouldn't call them anything but Mr.
😂 honestly I prefer clown because it makes people wonder about what I do, you say bullfighter and people either think matador or bull rider, so clown is ok.
first animalleftist those arent beef bulls. those are bred to do just what they do best and that is Rodeo. so you better understand some of them, here are some pointers. first the flank strap is actually a rope and it is used to cue the bull to kick evenly with both rear legs thereby reducing injury to the bull from breaks to the leg. second the spurs do not injure the bull and if the rider does injure the bull with their spurs they are disqualified and lose their moneys and possibly loose their competition licence! Bulls are naturally territorial and the arena is their territory, some just like to buck and fight! it is not out of fear and an injured bull will just lay down. these bulls are fed premium alfalfa and given Gatorade in their water to keep their electrolytes up in warm weather. some of these bulls are worth over $300.000 dollars and are investments for breeding rights. they work on average a year no more than 8 minutes 8 seconds at a time. the rest of the time they are either in a trailer going to the next rodeo or on pasture breeding other cows or hanging out with the other Bulls.
"They aren't beef bulls". Correct, they are rodeo bulls. Bred from beef stock, not dairy stock. "The Flank strap is used to cue the bull". Correct, it forces the bull to buck. He wouldn't buck without it. It provokes an instinctual panic reaction, that any prey species will exhibit.
"Bulls are territorial". Correct. "Some of these bulls are worth over 300k". Correct, however I would love to see anyone other than another stock contractor pay those prices. With the price of cattle sky high? They are worth lots dead, too.
You keep telling yourself it's a sport. I'll keep mentioning that it isn't. BTW, the Roman Coliseum had much the same "draw" for people. "Let's see people get killed or horribly injured"!!

AnimalLeftist This is the third clip i have watched that you have had a rant on! And you still have no clue what you are talking about! I can not talk for all rodeos but the ones that i follow and am involved with are not cruel because I would have nothing to do with them if they were. Almost all people associated with rodeo would not see an animal be put through what you have described. This is the issue, people like you giving all rodeo a bad name! People like you think they know the truth but have never sought the truth.
Well put but most radical animal rights people will not listen, they are too intent on spreading misinformation and propaganda, and their target audience is the people that honestly do not know anything about rodeo, and believe what they have to say. People that understand and love rodeo have to try and educate that audience before the radical animal rights groups do.

, what is the truth behind this event, then? It's main draw? The threat of death. Tell me that it isn't. And then tell me when you EVER see a rancher ride one of his bulls. These bucking bulls are a breed to themselves, yes. Never said they weren't. I DO say the event is no "sport". It's a way for little men to feel important in their own useless lives.
There seems to be many definitions of sport, one such example would be Sport-activity that you do for pleasure and that needs physical effort or skill usually done in a special area and according to special rules. My only point is everyone has opinions some people argue about whether or not golf is a sport. Just saying

, why thank you. Your rage means I hit one of your last nerves. Retired from cattle farming, we are. Always hated what the rodeo does to livestock. Please, enjoy several more concussions, as the main reason people watch bull-riding, is to see the injuries. "Bred to be aggressive"? LOL... Holsteins are aggressive, for sure. ALL of these bulls are DOMESTIC breeds. Not wild aurochs. Really. You'd be aggressive too, if you lived the life these bulls are forced to lead, in order to avoid the slaughter line.
you mean that they genetically mainly zebu/brahman. While those are technically beef breeds, they are not regularly used in the beef industry due to their leanness. Brahman are naturally aggressive and are very athletic due to their body structure. Bulls are even more aggressive due to the amount of testosterone in their bodies. Bulls are never used in the beef industry due to them not being castrated at an early age. These bulls live a better life than you do. Flank straps do not anger the bulls nor do the spurs. Flank straps just act as a presence almost like a fly on its back. The riders are not allowed to use their spurs and a bulls skin is thick enough that the spurs wouldn't even puncture their skin. The spurs are just for aesthetics.
First of all stupid they are bred to do this and they are never hurt, they are treated better than the riders and the bulls are not ‘angry’ it’s for them to kick off the flank strap. Your just ignorant.

I love the bull fighters I was thinking about being one of them but nope I'm a chicken I just wish instead of all the time the bull riders like for elite seats telling us what equipment they use why not the bull fighters also keep up the good work 😉
