- The Professional Bull Riders organization, also known as PBR, recently visited Madison Square Garden in New York. Part of PBR's Built Ford Tough Series saw 35 of the best bull riders in the world competing for a championship prize of more than $100,000.
We followed 19-year-old bull riding phenom Jess Lockwood, the 2016 Rookie of the Year, beginning with his appearance at the New York Stock Exchange, where he rang the opening bell. Along with the other competitors, Lockwood rode once each night to try to get a combined score high enough to make the championship round on Sunday.
We were on hand for Lockwood's entire three-day journey, during which he put his life on the line for the chance at a huge payday.

32 seconds of work.. they’ve been working up to this point their whole lives.
Yeah ppl think we just jump on a bull once and that's it 😂
Thats like saying a NFL QB got a $100 million contract for playing 60 minutes in a game.. It takes a lot of work and practice (and guts) to do this lol.

Imagine if the bull is all like: "Yeah I'm fine with this." and stops rampaging.
The bull: “oh yeah bru no worries, I’m from ‘stralya”
Would you stop rampaging while your testicles are clamped off? The animals does not decice to rampage it gets forced.
@Der Da it’s absolutely not forced. Bulls either buck or they don’t, the flank strap (the part you said clamps the testicles) goes around the hips. If you knew anything at all about what you’re talking about you’d know a bulls testicles are a whole foot or more behind the hips. If you were to clamp the testicles the animal would be in too much pain to move. I know all of this because I’ve been riding bulls for 12 years and raising bulls for the last few years. Please stop spreading lies and put in the effort to learn about something you don’t understand.
@@11bravo_outdoors91 Yeah i saw some videos about these days cowboys. They said the same as you did. I read the things about clamping the testicles on multiple websites. I just didn't know better. I am sorry! But i have to say its really hard to know better if many sources of information tell you that it is done like that. I should have researched better, my bad. Warning people abuse animals in these contest
@@5.7_cruz lmao only inhumane people can sit back and enjoy watching animals be abused and suffer just for the 'entertainment' and money
How is it animal abuse? There’s no hitting or abusing these bulls? These bulls aren’t used to someone sitting on their back so their natural instinct is to buck, similar to when a horse isn’t used to having something on its back but it’s then trained to be ok with it. Bulls just aren’t trained to be ok with it. Most of these bulls weigh 2 -3 thousand pounds and the average rider weighs 150 pounds the bull could definitely out do the rider if they needed to and not to mention that it usually lasts 5 -10 seconds then these bulls are put back into their pastures and spend the rest of the week grazing and enjoying their life. Not sure where your getting the “abuse” from but you should go check a rodeo out!
I'm sorry but you literally have it all wrong. These bulls don't buck because there are people on their back, they buck because of the strap that is tightly tied around the animals flank.. it's uncomfortable and traumatising for them, whether it lasts for 5 seconds or 5 hours it doesn't matter. If you were assaulted by someone for 5 seconds before it stopped you would still be traumatised by it no matter how quick it was. We should not forget these animals have feelings too and just because they get to graze like a normal bull should be doing and have the freedom to do so anyways, doesn't make up for the trauma they caused the animal. Not to mention some of the strategies these people at rodeos use to aggravate a bull such as poking it with electric sticks, using hot shots or even injecting the animal with steroids. Please research more thoroughly on rodeos and I am not trying to blame everyone in the industry as all sports have a bad side to it
Jasmxnne “research more thoroughly” Sis I’ve been attending/competing in rodeos since I was 6 years old. My grandfather is a stock contractor, I know what goes on in rodeos. I know that stock contractors would never contract out to a rodeo that would do anything to endanger their bulls. Majority of these rodeos do not hurt these animals. Yes there have been issues in the past in some of the smaller rodeos but PRB does not abuse these bulls and most of the larger rodeos don’t. The whole electric prod thing is also extremely false. People have been caught using tasers but I can almost guarantee those people are no longer allowed around rodeos. Don’t believe everything you see online. Unless you have actually seen it with your own two eyes don’t speak on it. I watched a video of a guy titled “tasing horses at the rodeo” well I watched the video and it was clearly a walkie talkie. It’s easy to see something online and presume things. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen but most of these animals are not abused. Especially not these PBR bulls.
Grace Abigale I agree with you. In high school I was a big animal rights activist/vegan and I still am but I used to think rodeos were abuse but this kid I went to high school rode bulls and after i got into an argument with him over rodeos he invited me to one of his rodeos and I went and the bulls just sat in that little cage thing (idk what it’s called) then once they opened the gate it just started bucking. I never saw them do anything. It really changed my perspective. Rodeos aren’t something I would want to regularly attend but if someone wants to do them I’m ok with that.
