at 51 yrs old and recently having lost over 50 lbs and 6 pants sizes i 100% agree. just going on a 5 mile hike with 50+ lbs of fat not on my body makes it so much easier and more enjoyable. it is easier for most to make excuses rather than get up get out and get with it. 3 things i structure myself by NOWADAYS ,Commitment Consistency and Accountability for my overall fitness and life in general. #keto
Good talk, and also true! For many years I was a happy camper by boat or car, I was out of shape, but I did not notice at all. As the hobby evolved, I got my first big backpack, my first light tent and new lighter gear to go in it, so I wanted to go have a sleep over to test everything. My first trip I walked probably just 1km along the rocky beach and found a nice spot. Had a wonderful sleep and all the gear worked well. The case is, I have flatt feets, so while I was walking the short trip back to my car the next day, my arc in my feets just collapsed, then my knees started to hurt and it became a real struggle to get back over the unstable rocks. Since then I've been working out at the gym, running outdoors etc. So today my feets are strong. Still, when I go for a dayhike, I often wear my pack with lots of "unnecessary" items, just to have something play with and test out, and at the same time, maintain my legs joints and tendons. Knowing that if I did not do this, there would be no chance my legs could suddenly haul all that gear around on along trip. And having all that gear in my home, well, it would not matter if I could not carry it outside to where it's supposed to be usefull.
Bingo. Another great video. I just watched your video on using the SOL Escape Bivy and was amazed at your clarity of communications and intelligent, common-sense advice. Now you "follow up" with great advice on Fitness. 100% dead on. Fitness and survival are absolutely related. Even if you're just a weekend hiker, the ability to survive an injury or stay out an unplanned night or two is absolutely related to fitness. It is not unusual to see fat guys having to build a Taj Mahal . . . and then still bitch about the cold . . . while a fit guy can survive with just a poncho and a pile of leaves. Happy new Subscriber. I hope to see more videos in the future!

Pryce Allen Outdoors awesome! Keep it up boss!
Good job. Just think of all the goodies you can now carry and still be lighter than you were.
