When I sold cameras would always open boxes from the bottom side; this way if the camera had to be sold we could re-pack it and the factory seal on top was intact...sneaky!. Cheers from Australia.

I too have this Accuphase E-4000..excellent music machine..i pluged it via Inakustik xlr monitor cables to a Smsl PL200 cd reader ( what a new cd player it is, hope you can listen to it..the best cd reader i ever bought)
I send the sound to a pair of Klipsch Cornwall IV loudspeakers..( connection with the cheap but very good Krüger and Matz audio cables..)
With the E-4000 you have the opportunity to plug another pair of loudspeakers (A, B, or A+B)..
In B i used an old pair of JM Lab Elektra 936..very good sound too..
Very happy with this E-4000 Accuphase amplifier, and this crazy good SMSL PL200 cd player..!..thanks for your audiophile tests..!
Can't wait to hear this amp - particularly in comparison to a McIntosh.

I love the A/B switch for speakers. Wish others would do this…especially McIntosh. Perfect for auditioning speakers or obviously being able to have 2.

I sooo agree. I’ve purchased items from some of the other brands you sell and they would have dust and fingerprints all over the shiny metal parts. Frustrating to see products of this price and caliber with unacceptable QC. Kudos to Accuphase for getting the basics right.

Very nice video and good overview of the functions and connections. On my opinion Accuphase is worth for their Class A products. Class AB like this is too expensive for what you get. Hegel gives you better value (but you don't get that visual eye candy if that is important to you)
My understanding is that an attenuator allows you to get the benefits of more wattage to the amp while converting the energy, usually to heat, so the power to the speaker is less. With guitar amps, it’s helpful bc a lot of amps require them to be cranked to sound great, but the volume is too high for most situations. Wondering if that’s the case here.
I am so interested in a comparison of the E-4000 and the Luxman L-509z.
I have read that these new series do not have the heat dissipation to handle lower impedance loads as well as the last series of integrated amps.
This is the one I might get, might. The 5000 is not needed, the 4000 is plenty powerful enough and about $5,000 less here. Comes with DAC included here at the moment.
You're right. The 4000 is mighty good, and nothing further is needed. But I would caution in good faith.....don't listen to the 5000. There's a reason why they charge much more for it ☺️

Hi Arian, Do you believe in using subwoofers or do you prefer to have a speaker that does full range let’s say to 32 hz?
If you love deep powerful bass, good subs will do that better. You can place the subs in a location that is often different than what is optimum for great midrange, imaging and soundstage.

Can anyone explain the allure of unboxing videos to me? Nothing against it, jusy difficult to understand. I can't imagine the majority of viewers are planning on purchasing the actual product or are using the video content as a how-to. Much love to Accuphase and Audio Excellence 💯

1. It's fun and 2. Sometimes, you might purchase something either open box or with no box and you get to see what components that you might be missing from the box brand new, and if they are important to you, you can order them.
I like it from the standpoint of seeing the care that the manufacturer puts into preparing and shipping their product. If I'm dishing out thousands for something, I want to see that the manufacturer respects that and treats the products with the same care that I will.

Hey, Adrian! NEVER EVER cut the yellow straps set around an Accuphase box. Customers (at least here in Europe) wince, when they see you doing this. Slide them off and keep them. Otherwise the resale value goes down the drain. Just remeber that many Accuphase customers suffer from severe OCD ;-)

Those speaker terminals don't exude luxury/quality from a piece of kit exceeding $10K USD. Specs and configuration vs. the McIntosh MA8950 2-Channel Integrated Amplifier + the somewhat "legacy" Sony ES approach that Accuphase clings to - makes it WAY too expensive for what you get. I'm certain it sounds good but then again, sound quality is highly subjective. This thing should be somewhere around $5K USD - at most.
Yes, indeed! Keep in mind that this is only a thin lacquered metal box, especially the top looks super cheap for this price tag. But otherwise, Accuphase is a premium and superior sounding brand with great technology in my opinion.
@@jeromelester8 Superior to what? Is it high-end? One could make that case based upon the engineering that goes into the sub-assemblies that matter and fit & finish. But to broad-brush some qualitative measure as "superior" is short sighted, myopic and total general.
Accuphase pricing is based upon lower volumes sold and a goal of solvency. That's not a superior business model.
Don't buy this junk. McIntosh all day long
Accuphase is far from junk. It is a quality product with a nice, warm sonic profile.
Jap junk. Pure and simple. McIntosh. The audiophile standard. Made in USA

Accuphase is far better than Mcintosh, another league. Specially in terms of handcraft, quality, fit and finish.
