We got on Carnival Dream on my birthday May 12 through May 18 and didn't get to stop in Costa Maya due to the weather but booked Carnival Jubilee for September hopefully we will be able to go at that time. Nice video by the way. #thuggizzle
Yes! Agree those huevos rancheros in the blue iguana are the best breakfast on carnival hands down. My favorite and the line is always pretty short, shhhh don’t give away our secret haha 😂.
That would be so disappointing. True, Costa Maya isn't a great port. However, missing any port is a bummer. I'm so sorry. It seemed you all had favorable docking position as well. Oh well. Next time, right? Thanks for a great video!
We just got back Saturday from that same cruise on the Dream. We also didn’t port at Costa Maya. We knew we weren’t going to because we were watching ship finder and saw Icon of the Seas turn around as they were supposed to be there that day also.
In my opinion, you really didn't miss much at Costa Maya except for the long walk to the port itself and the many, many people at the port. I've cruised on the Dream three times and have loved it every time. I heard Andy the cruise director making the announcement about the ship not docking there at port, he is awesome! As for the shows, I wish that Carnival would update their shows on the ships. It seems like most of them going out of Galveston have the same Playlist Production shows going on and even though they're different performers it still is tiring seeing the same shows every cruise. I'm a karaoke person myself and was glad that the Dream has the new setup for karaoke. Kim with a K is a great karaoke hostess. Enjoy the rest of your trip! :)
We met you on this day when they made the announcement. Chad and Denise Wright. Hope you all enjoyed the rest of cruise ... We sure did. We hope we get off at Costa Maya. . Was disappointed we couldn't go but we made the best of it
Yes it was so good talking with y’all! Glad yyou had a great rest of your cruise. We did. Even if you don’t stop in costa maya we still had a good time . 💜
We had the opposite happened when we went on Icon of the Seas. A Carnival ship was already docked there, and we couldn't lock because of high swells, so it could happen to even Icon! I've got a video on my channel about that.
I was on the Dream the first of April and we didn’t dock in costa maya either. Said weather was the reason. Said the other ships there got there earlier than the 1:00pm dock time. A rumor on our cruise was it was the young Italian captain. Wonder what his track record is of not docking in costa maya. Might be a good video.
We were on a Holland America cruise that had to skip Turks and Caicos because of wind. If the ship had gotten out of control we would have taken the dock out. Safety first is ok with me and fortunately we were B2B so we hit it the next time through.
@@FowlerFamilyFun Sometimes it is about what you can't see, you don't know the currents under the water. We once missed Grand Turk and the weather wasn't too bad, but the currents would have made docking dangerous.
I was on the jubilee about a month or so ago and this same situation happened to us! We were so close to land and they turned around and left. I’m not sure what is going on with this port but I would say they should take it off the list. I’m in plenty of facebook groups that have said that have had the same outcome. It’s such a let down!
We cruised on the dream in November/December of last year with the same itinerary. It was not a good experience. We aren't giving up cruising because of it but we will not ever be booking on the Dream again.
The Dream is okay but it would rank low on all the cruising we have done. If the price is cheap enough I would still go on the Dream. But if other ships are the same price I would probably pick another ship especially if it is a new one for us
It’s so suspicious! Twice we’ve been scheduled to port at Costa Maya and twice it’s been canceled, due to unfavorable conditions. Those seas look so calm. Seems like something else is up Costa Maya.
A lot of people are wondering. When 4 ships are there at the same time it’s way over crowded and people don’t like it. I wonder if that has something to do with it
No they didn’t…. It’s just part of cruising your not really guaranteed a port. They do give you back the port fee for the port you missed which is usually around 15-20 dollars per person
The icon does not look that big from your ship view. I would call bull..... bigger ships are harder to dock in heavy winds. They probably had no one to tie up the ship.
That’s pathetic. Had absolutely nothing to do with safety. All they care about is profit and they just saved tons of money by not docking. Something needs to be done about ships purposely bypassing destinations when it’s truly not a safety hazard. You should get some type of refund.

You will love the Jubilee.
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO MIKE AND TONYA 😊
Thanks Randy

No kidding it does feel like a secret
I'm glad that you reviewed this. We're going on this one in 3 weeks and now I know what to expect
Awesome, have fun. We appreciate you watching
Did you get to stop at costa Maya?
@@kimwimer7308 yes we did and actually that turned out to be my favorite spot
Sailing in November already planning to stay on board the ship for spa day.
If there are 4 ships at port that day I would also stay on board
That would be so disappointing. True, Costa Maya isn't a great port. However, missing any port is a bummer. I'm so sorry. It seemed you all had favorable docking position as well. Oh well. Next time, right? Thanks for a great video!
Thank you for watching we appreciate it
We love the ship trail!
Oh yeah we do too. I need to record the sound and use it to sleep with
I definitely enjoy watching yall videos.
Thank you so much we appreciate you watching
We just got back Saturday from that same cruise on the Dream. We also didn’t port at Costa Maya. We knew we weren’t going to because we were watching ship finder and saw Icon of the Seas turn around as they were supposed to be there that day also.
It seems to be a norm here lately
Sorry you weren't able to dock in Costa Maya! We also love Bonsai Sushi!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Sharon for watching
I was on the Dream last August and was able to dock. I'm curious what's different looks about the same though.
Thanks for watching.
We were on mardis gras that day and watched from the pool bar in Costa Maya
Oh wow so when I was waving to Costa Maya I was probably waving to y’all. 👍

Yes last time we were there the port was over crowded. 4 ships at port and two of them were mega ships
We loved Costa Maya. Hopefully you'll get there soon.
Costa Maya is nice we have been there several times but this was the second time we had to skip the port
WOW, the other ships are docked!!! That's Carnival for ya!!!
Yep
Team royal 🛳️
One of the other ships was Carnival too. Oh well, safety first.
We met you on this day when they made the announcement. Chad and Denise Wright. Hope you all enjoyed the rest of cruise ... We sure did. We hope we get off at Costa Maya. . Was disappointed we couldn't go but we made the best of it

I will go check it out
looks like a fun time
Thanks Heidi we had a blast
Oh wow! That can be disappointing. New subscriber here.
Thanks for subbing Anthony. That’s twice now we didn’t get to dock in Costa Maya
Well, that stinks. Looking forward to Belize. I've been wanting to go there and to Costa Rica for a while now...
Costa maya is great we really love it. Belize is a usual excursion location for us.
So sorry for you that you could not dock, but then safety first. ❤
Yes safety first for sure, just a small disappointment
Had nothing to do with safety. All about saving money by not docking.
We love the sushi bar on the ships!
Yes we do to. One of our favorite spots to eat
We were on the Dream at Thanksgiving and really enjoyed the ship!
Yeah we enjoyed the Dream really good ship
I would love to see your Belize day…
It’s coming out soon. We will have a day on the ship and our excursion in Belize as well
AAA has a great price right now for I on in April! Like. 4k savings . I booked last week balcony cabin too
Awesome… is it this same cruise ship
I hear people call Costa Maya Costa Maybe. I hear that port gets skipped alot by ships for weather related reason. Mostly in the winter time frame.
We have been there probably 9-10 times and it was skipped 2 of those times due to weather. I like it tho “Costa Maybe”
Was on Breeze couple days ago…no docking either! 😮
Wow… so many people recently have said the same thing it’s becoming a problem
I'm on this cruise now it's going great besides not being able to dock
You couldn’t dock on your cruise as well? Or are you saying you were on the same cruise as me?
@FowlerFamilyFun I'm on the 6 day dream cruise now and we couldn't dock in Costa Maya
Bummer. Sounds like it’s happening on a regular basis

Hmm interesting… how often is this happening. Good video idea.
Wow the weather was fine why couldn’t they dock
Yeah it was a little strange
I was on the Harmony of the Seas last month and same thing with us, we pulled up and couldn't dock so it turned into a sea day.
Yeah it’s bummer, but any day on a ship is better then a day at work
We were on a Holland America cruise that had to skip Turks and Caicos because of wind. If the ship had gotten out of control we would have taken the dock out. Safety first is ok with me and fortunately we were B2B so we hit it the next time through.
Yes I agree safety first for sure. It’s just a small disappointment
It happens. We’ve skipped a lot of ports
Yeah same small disappointment but we were safe this way
We had rougher seas with NCL and docked without issue.
Yep. We have docked with worse water at the same port as well
@@FowlerFamilyFun Sometimes it is about what you can't see, you don't know the currents under the water. We once missed Grand Turk and the weather wasn't too bad, but the currents would have made docking dangerous.

They should start building a second pier for sure

Just got off the Mardi Gras last week
Never been on the Mardi Gras I’m sure it’s as good as the Jubilee

That water though!
👍
Sorry you didn't get to get closer to that ship.
Next time hopefully
Did they give any compensation? Bummer you couldn't dock.
Just our port fees and taxes back. I think it was around $19 per person
That looked like calm seas in the port to me…
Yeah same here
You didn’t miss a thing. Costa maya is the biggest flaw in the western Caribbean. It looks more like a fuel station for cruises. Totally a dump place.
👍
😂😂😂😂mane stop please 😭 u so wrong for dat
Did Carnival issue partial refund for this ?
No they didn’t…. It’s just part of cruising your not really guaranteed a port. They do give you back the port fee for the port you missed which is usually around 15-20 dollars per person
I don’t think they know how to dock the waves were not choppy at all 😢
Kinda weird…. I really thought we could dock
We've seen the result when a ship tries to dock there in even mild seas. Carnival I think Magic hit the dock doing a lot of damage to it.
Yeah it’s bad if it goes wrong…. Better to be safe
Is that a type of flat microphone on your shirt?
The mic is under my shirt the piece you see is the magnet holding it in place
@@FowlerFamilyFun which mic do you use?
DJI
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Sandy
The icon does not look that big from your ship view.
I would call bull..... bigger ships are harder to dock in heavy winds. They probably had no one to tie up the ship.
Or they wanted us to stay on the ship to spend more money. Hmmm
Please eliminate the selfies. This is supposed to be about the SHIP, not YOU.
Haha
This is another reason I don’t cruise Carnival
I could care less about the Icon of the Sea!
I would love to be o not one day but I’m. Or gonna pay that price. I usually prefer the mid size ships anyway
That’s pathetic. Had absolutely nothing to do with safety. All they care about is profit and they just saved tons of money by not docking.

We did get our port fees back which were $19 a person
Wow. That’s super lame! Seems like a BS excuse. :-/
Yeah maybe. That’s twice we didn’t dock at Costa maya in 3 or 4 cruises
Profit over passenger experience. It’s a sad excuse hiding behind a veil of “safety”.
Costa Maya is a dump
