I know where this stable is and found out first hand how these horses were treated and abused, and there was many horses that just wasn't fit to be ridden. Poor horses I wish I could have taken them all, to loved and bring them back to health.
How can people hurt animals let alone other human beings. Its disgusting seeing how these horses were treated. I hope every single animal that went through their hands are well and happy in there new homes and with their new family
I don't no the man but he is a gentleman a couple of loobs bought horses got bored and decided to reck the mans name leave the man alone go to clitheroe auction and buy a balanore mushy speaking by.
As abhorrent as this blokes business practices are, I do commend him for having the balls to actually talk to Matt as opposed to darting off in a fit like the vast majority of them do.
When I was 13 year old I had a horse who cost £2500' was "8" years old and was a candidate for RDA (riding therapy for people with disabilities) and was very suitable for a novice ( I had been a very confident and good rider between the ages of 3 and 9 but got back into riding at the age of 12 a few years after my new forest died). This horse turned out to be 4 years old and bucked every time he cantered, was terrified of sticks and after a few months of riding nearly killed me, after my last accident I had a broken arm, ribs and he kicked me in the head which knocked me out, gave me concussion and brain damage.
Had a similar situation with a new horse that collapsed on its first hack. Turns out its rear legs were knackered. For anyone buying a horse get a vet check first
How was Queenie for sale in the first place? Her owner decided to cut her losses and get a few quid on her rather than call the knackerman out and do the right thing. The same applies to every single knackered horse sold by dealers. They *all* had owners who didn't give a stuff and simply wanted money.
To be fair to the 'owner' of Kellys Cobs, once exposed, he didn't run away or became abusive. He stayed calm and composed while responding to allegations. I am however shocked by the treatment of the poor horses and I wish he was challenged on that more than anything.
Yeah obviously he was an honest man just doing business and left the technicalities to the vet. They didn't bring back the horses and got their money back so I don't really see what they're moaning about. If they'd returned them maybe they'd be turned into food instead of running around letting out that horrible co2 for no reason.
I would have thought you would get a vets bill of health before buying a horse? Like an MOT on a car, I certainly wouldn't buy one unless it had been checked by an independent professional.
foot in mouth we rescue OTTBs, before any horse is put up for adoption I have a vet examine the horse, lameness exams and ultrasounds, then I always recommend a PPE by the adopter.
WTFF I'm not sure if you're in the UK or not but wouldn't that place being such questioning ends there have some kind of animal cruelty law that would fine or jail that guy in that company wow they got absolute proof right there these are dirty dogs and now you say you find them active that is sickening
My issue here is that making TV has come above the welfare of these amazing animals. After the first two horses were clearly in some need of help, they should be getting people into this place and helping the horses, not dragging it out to make TV.
These types of shows will often hand over all their evidence to authorities. Since, you know, a TV show can't make arrests or hand out prison sentences.
@Johnny Holmes Or food for people. Kids are starving in Africa but here we're privileged enough to keep the food as pets and even give them human rights. The world is becoming a strange place.
I don't really see the problem, This video is quite old too. I'm sorry if you see a problem with the syncing, I admit it's a very small de sync, but not a major problem
Don’t use Boulevard Motors aka WestLondonMotorCompany aka BD Car sales Ltd aka BD Car Sals Ltd aka Ali and Sons Ltd aka Horsenden Motors in Perivale London.
id agree that its the buys duty to get a vet to check before handing over cash. but correct me if im wrong. it started out with him walking out of court where a judge stated he was banned from running a company again. which he obviously still is, as he dealt with the sales himself. but that was not mentioned when they tried to interview him. did he call the police and have him arrested for breaking a court order? im guessing no, as they would have shown that. so the bbc cached a man selling sick animals. they know he has a court order on him for it. and did nothing to stop him.
stuff gets sorted outside of the episodes with further legal issues getting done off camera the show has no authority to do literally anything unfortunately but the BBC can take stuff further if they need to or get people involved who can remove the mans license in selling animals we don’t get the full run down on every show but the reason these shows are made is to address the issues and inform people on dodgy situations and people
That was absolutely disgusting, I wonder how these horses sustained said injuries without them even batting an eyelid? Anyway I've worked with horses and can tell you if you are being sold a horse for that kind of money you should probably walk away, as the horse we bought was at least twice that and we also took a vet with us before we handed the money over. We viewed the horse on three occasions also before we purchased, the final being with a certified vet.
Exe. Dist so very nice horses sell every day here in the states for under 1000.00. Depends upon the time of the year and the hay situation too. We take in OTTB and adopt them out for 750.00 US and less. Lovely dressage prospects, great trail horses, etc. fully vetted, and with good ground manners.
Yes and even more so if you are inexperienced and unaware of horses or don't know their issues or signs of health problems you definitely have to bring a professional to look at them and if you are familiar with horses hello look at their teeth look at their hooves feel their ankles look for sway backs and coat health rub your hands all over there body to see if they react oddly if you're buying a horse without looking at those things then you deserve to get. @@terriessex2083 I'm sorry, but just because a buyer is unaware how to assess the health, age and temperament of a horse doesn't mean they deserve to get burned! This place is selling horses for riding that are not only unsuitable, but unsafe; not only for the rider but also the horse!
Matt got owned here. First time that’s happened and he didn’t like it one bit. Don’t get me wrong, this guy is morally bankrupt but he knows the law and knows what he’s doing. Also, credit where it’s due, he stayed and talked, he didn’t run away. He did say that he is willing to do a full refund and I do think he meant it. His business model flourishes off of people (similar to everyone who purchased a horse on the show...) who love horses as animals and who would never bring themselves to actually send the horse back to the seller; not even in exchange for $$ they spent.
Not only is he being cruel to the horses, but he could have been responsible for killing people, even kids, if an injured or upset horse were to start throwing itself about all over the place.
Before buying a horse get it checked by a vet. There are 2 checks you can do, one is quick and cheap, the other is expensive but thorough. If you use the cheap method or don't even get it checked before buying you shouldn't then cry foal.........
David Tomas what a classy guy at the end. Staying and putting his point across respectfully as he did. Can't say the same for the presenter though. It can mean they have something to hide and are hoping you wont get an independent vet check yourself.
Ok I'm gunna take it from your picture and the way you talk you know about horses right? The people that buy from rouge traders don't that's why they get scammed. So this show hires actors to go along with the scam like say I would. I don't know about horses and have no interest in them but if I was to buy one I'd believe the trader knows more about a horse than I do.
REALMANGAMING As some one with over 30 horses. A dealer is out to make money not find the perfect horse. Like any kind of trader when you buy a bike does the salesperson ask if you will use it.NO because they dont care as long as they make money!

He should vet them before he sells them on to the public, he obviously doesn't or he'd have known about the poor horses lameness, or maybe he just doesn't care,
Two horses for peanuts? Vet checked every time before you buy. Buyer beware. Yes, the seller was clearly a rogue - so many out there in the horse world.
I know horses inside out and I can tell you this, the way this programme was presented was a right stitch up. The main issue are the people that own then, not the horses themselves. As for most equine Vets, biggest bunch of crooks you'll ever meet. Passing a horse 'fit' is seen as a long term legal risk for them. They don't care about the horse or the rider.
At least the horses bought by watchdog got some care and a good home. Well done matt and crew!
Good too see my licence fee has gone too some use after all
They went direct to Tesco
Used to watch this with my parents. Didn't think I would be rewatching them in my mid twenties.
Me too in the 10's, now again in late thirties here!
"I haven't run off like a lot of people do"
"Well, you live here so..."
He doesn't look like the running type either..
Lol exactly
So happy the place where I ride has such healthy and happy horses.
Well looked after and very happy.
Loppy ran round that field as if she'd never seen grass before!
Exactly what came to mind how excited was it !!
Who in their right mind would purchase a horse without having it vetted in the first place...
Correct
First thing I thought of. Wouldn’t even consider parting with money without a vet there.
Fools with money
Used to love to ride. The power of a horse cantering and galloping is a wonderful thing.
14:38 hahahahahaha the horse definitely understood that.
It understood the words put down definitely lol
I noticed that too 👀 😅
thanks for pointing that out that was a good wee laugh
Randonimityismacabre 😂
Poor horse. Or poorse
Oh poor Queenie 😣 can’t believe they were riding her with broken bones, poor thing
This show real or not is a ripping good giggle . Love the English humor . Jolly good show old chap . Cheers to all viewers ......

what bastards who would sell a potentialy lethal animal to anybody is beyond me
@Heinrich Himmler they're not always injured
My local reptile shop sells them regularly.

Fight or Flight.
Schwabladoo he needs no admiration, remember he was also been cruel to animals in the past I.e. puppies.

Joseph Beatty what?
Yeah he also has the "balls" to sell a horse for a task which will cause it a lot of suffering.

It would be cruel to return these horses only to be sold again and expected to work when they are old or injured, very sad how they are exploited
