Why put that chunk of plastic back on top afterwards. I thought that was one of the pluses of putting the cold air on is that you get rid of that monstrosity
David Kozlowski if your referring to the black engine cover then I agree haha, but I’m actually going to get the silver beetle engine cover to give it some styling and expose the red ignition coils as well as do all the caps. But I haven’t done that yet because I been busy getting other parts for this car and for my project b6 a4 as well
Definitely not noticeable, but worth it for the sound. Also, it adds up if you do other mods. One more thing, he isn't working with electricity, so he didn't need to disconnect the battery..
ruclips.net/video/okQAT1AyjVQ/видео.html seems 2008 and later don't have one that is nice as my new Rabbit 2008 2.5l I pickup soon will be easier to work with
Did this with an injen short ram. No lights and ran great for about a year to year and a half. Then i had ran into so many problems i had to take it off.
P0011 is relates to your timing and sensor. It jas nothing to do with the intake. You are just worried its from it, do a bit more research on your car and common issues and fixes for p0011
Bruce 5036 my stock filter is still in the car now because I’ve left the air filter housing on over the coil packs, but it’s not required most people take it off. I’m going to get the silver beetle engine cover in the near future and replace the stock one soon and I’ll be sure to drop a video because I might have to do spark plugs soon
I'm enjoying it. Have had it on for awhile now and seems good love the sound. Been putting off getting an exhaust for awhile though, but I'm in the process of getting the AWE touring exhaust with diamond black tips in the next month or so so I'm really excited for that and to also do a stage 1 tune from Integrated Engineering. Might do the tiptronic transmission tune too and see how that is. Once all thats done I'm going to dress up the engine bay with caps/covers and clean it up a bit too can't wait to see how it's gunna look. Hopefully really soon I'll be getting some new aftermarket headlights too
Sth_Euro Mk6 & B6 thanks for the feedback bro I really appreciate it because I recently got a injen short ram intake for my 2010 ve Jetta 2.5l 5 cylinder and I was wondering how intakes would work on a automatic because isn’t your Jetta a auto?
@@Juanzg37 no problem man and yeah it's automatic. I'm not sure how the injen ones are but I would assume they are good and I doubt they would effect reliability, but I'd still also get an exhaust when you can so the air can pass through better. As far as power wise though for all of our 2.5s it can get expensive adding bolt ons and tuning just to only get little gains out of it but to me I don't mind it as this car is my daily driver and family car. I'm not exactly trying to make it a race car but just trying to make it more playful for daily use.
Sth_Euro Mk6 & B6 oh okay and same here bro I’m a 17 year old just trying to have a nice looking and good sounding daily and I always wanted a intake for a awhile and most say for manual transmission but there’s people who just put it on auto and say it works fine lmao and I’m try to install it Sunday and see if it works which I’m hoping and praying it does because I bought it cause the noice lol I know they barely do any power gain but I love the sound 😂🙏
@@Juanzg37 hell yeah thats whats up it doesnt have to be manual for an intake and it doesnt have to be a manual for you to enjoy it and get good use out of it. As far as installing it, I'd say it was much easier then I thought it was going to be which was a big relief. Still took my time with it though and it turned out nice. The first drive with it on was nice I definitely noticed the sound and I felt like it moved a little quicker too but maybe it was because of the sound tricking my mind who knows haha but either way it put a smile on my face and still does when I downshift on the tiptronic mode. I can only imagine how its gunna be when paired with the AWE exhaust haha. I'll be sure to post videos when it comes, although I might have a shop install the exhaust, I might post the shop up in the video as well. I coulda went for the track edition exhaust which is more louder and aggressive, but I decided to go for the touring version which has a more sophisticated mature grumble to it because i figured it would suit the car and what its used for better. Man I can't wait to get to that point
Wavy DB I would just google air intakes for Mk6 Jetta and see which ones are compatible with the 2.5l motor. I know there are a few other options as well aside from this AEM short ram intake. I personally chose this one for the look and sound, also because it seemed easier to install then other options and the reliability ratings seemed good too, but the other options still look and sound nice as well.
Making it look easy bro great work!!! Might do this install on my 2.5
Video is 4 years old but still helpful thank you

Dope vid, straight to the point
Btw do you need a tune for the cold air intake?
Why put that chunk of plastic back on top afterwards. I thought that was one of the pluses of putting the cold air on is that you get rid of that monstrosity

Did you notice a power gain or lose?
Was there any noticeable power gain or just more intake noise?
Definitely not noticeable, but worth it for the sound. Also, it adds up if you do other mods. One more thing, he isn't working with electricity, so he didn't need to disconnect the battery..
Just bought this for my 2.5 Passat, hype af
Nice! What year is your Passat? For the longest time I didn’t know the Passat offered a 2.5l engine I’m sure it would make a nice daily

Did this with an injen short ram. No lights and ran great for about a year to year and a half. Then i had ran into so many problems i had to take it off.
shane kroening what kind of problems were you experiencing?
I believe it was engine code p0011
