    Can't thank you enough for this lesson! One of my all-time favorite songs and such a joy to play. That little palm mute D-G-A progression was pure bliss, I could really feel the rhythm in my bones. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated!

    Hi Justin! I can´t really express how much I owe you. Your lessons have made me a better guitarplayer than i imagined i could be. You also opened my Eyes to many new wonderful songs. Many thanks and much love from me in Sweden. Take care

    Since I've been playing for 50 years, I really appreciate it when you add in some more advanced ideas, I imagine that it is good for beginners, too. Keeps them focused on getting to the next level.

    Cool stuff, "Again" Justin,
    I just laid down a simple track of this song; on my Zoom R8.
    I used the last bit of the lesson with the "slash chords",
    As an intro. to the song; with a little melody lead noodling added to it.
    Then into the proper verse and Vocals (If you can call the noise my mouth makes a vocal?)
    Anyway it worked great .... t
    Thanks Mate".
    This one is going on the live gig list for sure.
    Peace Out!

    Justin what strings should I get to make my acoustic not sound as high and metallic? I have a newer Ephiphone and was thinking maybe medium light strings?

    • @chrislangley4253
      @chrislangley4253 8 лет назад +1

      +TheCoolCat
      Try them, but they are gonna change the way the guitar plays a bit. Probably make barres slightly more difficult. Light strings are the easiest to play, but the most prone to buzzing.
      You might need a different guitar entirely to achieve the sound you are after. Try different strings and different guitars too.

    • @OrthoCat
      @OrthoCat 8 лет назад

      +Chris Langley Yeah I was doing some research and heard that lighter gauge strings break more often but are easier to play and have a higher ring to them. And those are what I've been playing with for about a year. If theres no harm in switching up strings I guess its worth a try then!

    • @chrislangley4253
      @chrislangley4253 8 лет назад

      +TheCoolCat
      If you've been playing for a year, go ahead and try a set of mediums.. Expect the action to come up ever so slightly. I kinda like the extra thickness and action on some of my guitars. I have an old alvarez that buzzes without mediums, for example.
      They just aren't really something you wanna "practice" on, you know?
      I actually prefer nylon strings for that.

    • @OrthoCat
      @OrthoCat 8 лет назад

      Thanks for that! I'll just buy a box of light mediums and a box of lights and see which one fits my play style more.
      Thanks for the info tho!

    • @raithrover1976
      @raithrover1976 8 лет назад

      +TheCoolCat
      Most acoustic guitars come factory fitted with 11s (light gauge) and they give you a good compromise between playability and overall tone. I know people who fit 10s (super lights) to their acoustics and they are a bit too tinny sounding for my liking although, they sound fine if you're playing an electro-acoustic plugged into an amp. I use 11s on mine.

      @JustinGuitarSongs  3 года назад +2

      Fun fact: the key of the original recording is somewhere between D and Eb--instruments were not tuned to concert pitch (or the studio's tape machine was off-speed). So, D is pretty close.
