As a Strongman, I've found my traps developed the most, when I did a lot more farmers walks and frame carry. I'd use 60-70% of my bodyweight in each hand for up to 10 sets of 80m carries.
I was surprised this wasn't mentioned! I think Brian Alsruhe says you should aim to carry your entire bodyweight in each hand... that sounds insane to me... but it's a goal haha

Great video, Matt! I have been adding shrugs to the top of every RDL rep since seeing Klokov do this in several videos. It adds a lot of shrug volume to my week without the need to set up a shrug-specific barbell.

What you have to tell about wider grip on the first exercise? I saw a lot of people saying that is better if you open a little your arms instead of this close grip.
Masterbate! Unless of course, you don't want your forearms getting bigger. If you don't want your forearms getting bigger I recommend flapping your wings like an eagle around the track for an hour. this will absolutely isolate the rest of the arm & give you a massive pump in the whole deltoidous region. No other muscles involved 🤔.... That's all👍
Only problem with focusing on traps is they tend to over dominate the upper back at times making upper back work less effective. That said my traps grow from just thinking about them so maybe if a person is weak then it's different. Tight strong traps can exacerbate shoulder problems though.

Although the farmer carry are amazing to get yourself to stabilise, actually moving and mobilising the spine and shoulder with strength is important to do things like moving. It sounds stupid. I mean that promoting stiffness and strong huge ROM movement are both useful.

That's what I noticed as well. When I started doing farmers walks I could definitely see the growth.
Bonus points if you do your farmers one side at the time. Works some core and compresses the spine twice as less.
