Yea, I can't believe I've been without an iPhone for three years. Makes me feel old, ha! Was probably an easier switch for me, because I was kind of a hermit crab to begin with and don't need a smartphone for work. The GPS is def useful tho!

I pre ordered the Lightphone 3 it looks to be pretty awesome and full of useful features like paying with nfc instead of handing out your cc. The 50 megapixel camera with a focal point in the center is a great idea also. It will be nice to see how this thing ends up. I like the chunky wide and shortness of it. It would be a good idea to make the 2 updated too because that has a good fan base. I watched apples intro to ai and I was thinking there is no where you can go without them knowing every detail. The cases they sell on the Lightphone site are premium leather minimalist style and I can’t wait to see what they make for the Lightphone 3! The only downer is I would miss walking while listening the Bible. That is going to be an adjustment. I hope you really like the version 3, this will be really cool I think.
Hey, props for taking the leap! I'm super excited to see the LP3 in real life too. You can still listen to the Bible easily by getting an MP3 file and uploading it to the Music tool through their online dashboard. Alternatively, you could probably find episodes with Bible verses through the Podcasts tool.
I’m considering the version 3 buy in. How many timers can you create? I have like 10 for my daily use. I wish I understood more of what you can do with this phone. Anyone have a good video suggestion?

It's exactly what I imagined and hoped for-a sleek industrial design, a minimal camera, better battery, and slightly larger screen for better usability. $400 sounds reasonable to me with the addition of a camera and better durability/performance. $799 is definitely steep, but I expect it will come down somewhat if they get enough preorders. Of course, I'm sad to see the e ink screen go, and OLED is always going to be worse for eyestrain/stress, but there's no way to have a camera with e ink (or one worth using, at least) and most people will spend so little time on the LP (due to no distractions) that it's not a huge deal. Hopefully I can get one to test as soon as they have some stock.

where do you find music to download? i went to download music and almost got hacked.
I use the tool NoteBurner. You can download a Spotify playlist as MP3's. I mostly stream on my computer and support artists by going to shows or buying merch, so it seems a fair tradeoff vs buying MP3 files, which are kind of pointless to own these days.

It's actually easier than having to plug in to a computer, because you just go the dashboard site and upload your MP3's, which automatically get transferred to your LP.

There are many tablets out there, Boox is the biggest player. There is currently only one laptop an dits the Lenovo Thinkbook Plus Gen 4. For Desktop PCs you can just hook up a E-Ink Monitor like Bigme, Dasung or Boox (reviewed and used by Andrew).

Yea, their lack of vision/innovation is pretty obvious at this point. Hasn't been a groundbreaking release from Apple in ages.
@@AndrewFolts So my iPhone 5c is a beautiful phone made when Steve Jobs' ghost was still influencing design in Apple. Just the right size, syncs all my music, I only really use it for SMS and telephone, so I don't need all the extra applications, it never bugs me for updates, because it wont accept them anyway, allows me to facetime with my kids and uses 4G, so I thought it would be safe with the removal of 3G. It turnes out there is one frequency (700mHz band 28) that Telstra and Optus are forcing phones to use (the one frequency that caused all the issues with not working well) it can not use. THe phone does not need this frequency to work, but the network relays the information to the network servers which then proceed to ban the phone.
So I managed to get my hands on a first gen iPhone SE which is the same size but has iOS 14.X on it. I tried syncing my iphone data using iTunes from my macbook air. It says it can't use that version of iTunes, specifically the message reads I need iTunes 12.7+.
I tried updating iTunes, it says it can't update to that version of iTunes from this version Mac OS (Mavericks). If I Try to update Maverics, Apple forces an online update which takes it to El Capitan which in itself takes half a day because even the fastest internet is not as fast as reading off a DVD. El Captian breaks my mac, breaks all the applications I use for watching TV, office, etc and everything else slows it to a crawl.
So I managed to get a copy of Yosemite on USB (Still slower than a DVD). I updated it, (took about an hour). Then it let me update to iTunes 12.8.1. YAY! lets hope I can use it with iOS 15 which is on my newly purchased iPhone SE....
Then it says it can't use my iPhone with this version of Mac OS. I gotta install El Capitan OSX 10.11.2..... Once Apple was about useability. You could boot your mac as a hard drive to investigate OS errors. You could drag and drop the operating system to install it. One version of the OS on disk could boot up any mac.
What surprises me most is "Man" because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he doesn?t enjoy the present; The result being he doesn?t live in the present or the future; He lives as if he?s never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived.

Totally, for some people that could work just fine. I like the Light Phone's e ink screen, which doesn't cause eyestrain or give you insomnia from blue light if you need to use it at night. Plus, having the GPS, Music, and Podcasts tools are great for traveling. Just depends on what you need.
