Ah, within normal range naman po sya kung ganun. Usually po medyo rough talaga idle during relearning process ng ecu pero bumabalik din sa normal pag ginamit nyo na ang sasakyan, after about 50 to 100 km (slow - fast - slow driving). Pag hindi pa rin po bumalik sa normal o kung masyadong malikot ang fluctuation at may unusual vibration ang makina maaring vacuum leak po ang dahilan or maduming MAF sensor. Ipa check nyo po dun sa gumawa.

I appreciate your question. First, you learn this by studying automotive mechanics; second, by doing your research; and third, through experience. To answer your other question, the ECU or ECM is designed to reset or refresh its memory when the power supply to it is interrupted. It is configured to store default parameters and delete adaptive memories as necessary, much like how you can erase or refresh your computer's Random Access Memory when you restart it. Similar to your computer's RAM, the ECU also stores (or relearns) new information as you use your vehicle. The ECU or ECM functions similarly to your computer's RAM by storing or learning new information about your driving habits, fuel trims, ignition timing, idle speed, etc. These are referred to as adaptive parameters, which the ECU stores as new memory as you drive your vehicle.

Hi. If you are installing a new ECM/ECU you will need a scanner to write the VIN to the new ECM/ECU and you need to input the codes for the immobiliser, otherwise the car will not start.

Hi sir. You can start by observing if the RPM drop occurs during braking. If it does, it could be a sign of a developing vacuum leak in the brakes and/or brake booster system. Other things to consider are possible vacuum leaks in the intake hoses and EVAP system; condition of the MAF sensor, O2 sensors, throttle body; possible cyclinder misfires, condition of the sparkplugs/ignition coils, just to name a few. However, in order to minimize guesswork, it would be a good idea to obtain a comprehensive diagnostics with an OBD2 scanner to check the error history (if any) and performance of the engine, sensors, and ignition system, among other things. Please note, however, that occasional slight vibration is normal for in-line four cylinder engines due to the way mechanical balance is affected or distributed during the combustion cycle. Thank you. Pwede nyo po subukan, pero kung may problema sa wiring o fuse, o incompatibility sa firmware o protocol ng OBD2 scanner at on-board computer ng makina, hindi po sya uubra. Icheck nyo din po kung tugma yung connector ng scanner, at yung power level ng battery, at kung ok ang grounding.

The reason for connecting the positive cable first is to ensure that any accidental contact between the positive cable and the metal parts of the car does not create sparks. Sparks near the battery can be dangerous, as the chemical reactions inside the battery produces flammable gases (specifically hydrogen & oxygen) that can be ignited by sparks. By connecting the positive cable first, you reduce the chances of sparking near the battery.

Hi sir. No need na po kung hindi naman umiilaw ang check engine light o kung wala naman naging problema, pero kung meron pong issues pwede nyo po subukan. In case hindi po kinaya ng simpleng reset, pwede nyo po gamitan ng OBD 2 scanner para idelete ang errors at macheck na din ang status ng mga sensors at ng makina. Salamat po.
Nag welding po kc ako ng muffler tip, need removed neg terminal ng batt. After napansin ko upon starting boss nag 1500 rpm sya pero after awhile bababa sya ng 1000 rpm. After five minutes, idrive mo po si Vios for at least 15 - 30 minutes with AC "ON." idrive mo po sya at different speeds para marelearn din nya ang mga shifting parameters. The initial run may be slightly rougher than usual, pero normal lang po yun during the relearning process. Mag-i-stabilize din po sya after driving the car around a few times or a few hundred kilometers. The ECU will continue to relearn as you use the car hanggang sa mag adapt na nya ulit sa driving habits mo po sir. Subukan nyo po ireset ecu then obserbahan nyo. Kung memory lang ang dahilan mawawala po yung kadyot, pero pag di pa rin nawala ibalik nyo po dun sa gumawa para macheck nila mga vacuum hoses, wirings, etc. In case po makuha sa reset, maaring mapansin nyo na medyo naging "rough" ang makina sa umpisa kasi nagre-relearn pa ang ecu pero unti-unti po sya babalik sa normal habang ginagamit nyo sasakyan. Kung 1 day disconnected sa battery malamang po nag reset na sya, hayaan nyo na lang po mag relearn ang ECU. Idrive nyo na lang normally gaya ng dati. Unti unti po magre-relearn ang ECU habang dinadrive ang sasakyan (for about 50km to 100km). Yung steps po sa video ay para lang ma-facilitate ang relearning process pero kahit hindi nyo na ulitin yun. Salamat po.
Boss flasher relay location? Nabaklas ko na buong dash, wala ako nakita. Wala na kasi audible feedback ang turn signal at hazard nung car ng sister ko na 2016 Vios E, di kaya integrated na sa control module yung flasher relay?
Yes sir, maari po. Kasi 10A fuse lang ang nasa engine compartment fuse box (No. 18 slot) para sa turn signals/hazard lights. Pag ni-trace po tunog ng flasher nanggagaling sya sa likod ng dash panel mismo. Maaring electronic circuit relay na po ang nakakabit instead of traditional relay. Based sa diagram at sa nakita ko habang nagbabaklas, IG1 (Ignition) relay at aircon relay ung malapit sa A pillar sa driver side sa likod ng instrument cluster, sa likod naman ng radio fog relay, rear fog relay and tail lamp relay ang nakita ko.
Sir, ipacheck nyo po kondisyon ng BATTERY (baka mahina o palitin na), BATTERY CABLES (kung may damage) & BATT CABLE CONTACTS (for loose connection), at ALTERNATOR (kung sapat ang supply ng kuryente). Isama nyo na din po ang DRIVE BELT (belt tension baka maluwag o dumudulas).
After cleaning po ng throttle body, iac valve ang intake manifold ng vios gen 1 automatic ko, tumaas po yung menor niya ng close to 2000 rpm. Ano po kaya ang possible cause and solution sir.
Naghi-high rev po makina pag nalinisan ang throttle body kasi naalis na po ang dumi at mas madaming hangin na po ang pumapasok sa intake kaya nalilito po ang ecu dahil lumang parameters pa rin po ang sinusunod nya. Subukan nyo po ireset ang ecu sir para marefresh ang throttle position memory sa ecu.
After reset (pag wala po ibang issues), baba din po agad ang idle rpm after a few minutes sa nornal range na 600 - 700 (ac/ off) or up to 1k (ac on). Maaring medyo rough po sa umpisa ang idling habang nagrerelearn ang ecu kaya gamitin nyo po ang sasakyan (slow - fast - slow driving) gaya ng dati para matutunan ulit ng ecu ang dating driving habits mo sir.

@@GeorgeTenerife-mw1po Depende po yun. Kailangan maisa-ayos muna ang dahilan kung bakit sumindi ang warning lights kasi sisindi po uli yun kung hindi naisa-ayos ang problema. Pero kung nagpalinis kayo ng throttle body at gumaspang ang idle o malikot ang rpm, o kung na-repair na ang abs o airbag issues pero nakasindi pa rin ang warning lights, pwede nyo ito subukan para ma-refresh ang memory ng ecu.
Pwede po sir, usually ginagawa po ang basic reset na yan after throttle body cleaning and/or after fixing the cause of the problem na nag-trigger sa Check Engine Light. Pag di pa rin po nag off ang CEL after trying this approach, pwede nyo po gamitan ng OBD2 scanner for a more comprehensive diagnostic to identify, fix, and delete the error na dahilan kung bakit nag-ON ang CEL.

Wala pong problema unit nyo kung umaabot ng 2500 ang rpm nya sa bilis na 100kph. May 'rubber band effect' po talaga ang CVT transmission kaya medyo may konting delay po sya kumpara sa manual transmission.

Pwede nyo po sya subukan sir. Kung sakali hindi pa rin makuha ng basic reset, ipa scan nyo po gamit ang OBD2 scanner para malaman kung may mas malalim na dahilan ang surging ng makina.
Hi sir. Maaring low fuel pressure po ang dahilan kaya matagal ang redondo. Pwede nyo po yan itest: 1) Ilagay nyo lang muna sa "ON" yung susi for about 5 seconds or more para makapag prime yung fuel pump. 2) Then tsaka nyo i-start makina. Pag nagstart agad, mababa o mahinang fuel pressure po ang problema.
Kung ganun po, mababa nga po ang fuel pressure nyan. Pag ipinahinga nyo na kasi ang sasakyan unti unti na bababa ang fuel pressure sa fuel line pag defective ang pressure regulator (or check valve o may leak sa fuel injectors) kaya pag inistart nyo uli matagal na naman ang redondo kasi kailangan nya pa ipunin ang required fuel pressure para paandarin ang makina.

Ilan po sa mga senyales ay rough idling, mahina o delayed ang hatak, malakas sa gasolina, minsan bigla namamatay makina parang sakal, pwede rin po ma-trigger ang Check Engine Light, at pag sinilip ang throttle may carbon build up na sa butterfly valve at loob ng throttle body. After throttle body cleaning nagbabago rin po ang reading ng ECU sa airflow vs throttle position kaya maaring tumaas ang idle RPM at minsan biglang nagagalit ang makina habang umaandar ang sasakyan. Pag ganun pwede po ireset ang ECU para ma-relearn ang bagong throttle position. Normal idle speed range po pag naka-ON ang A/C ay 650 - 900.
Hi sir. Makikita po difference sa behavior ng makina. Kung naging mataas o erratic ang RPM after throttle body cleaning magno-normalize po sya after reset, babalik po sya sa nornal idle RPM range na 650 - 900. Kung may Check Engine Light po bago mag-reset, usually nawawala na sya after. Yung system clock po nagre-reset din. Minsan, after reset medyo nagiging rough po ng konti ang makina habang nagre-relearn pa ang ECU pero nag no normalize din po sya after 50km - 100km run. Kaya habang dina-drive po ang sasakyan unti unti rin nire-relearn ng ECU ang bagong driving parameters at nagaadjust sya accordingly.
Hindi po sa lahat sir. Step 1 works on most vehicles (except high-end vehicles with complex-redundant ECUs). Step 2 works on Vios/Yaris with manual transmission (a different sequence applies to vehicles with automatic transmission.)

Makakatulong po kung mapa-scan muna ang Vios nyo gamit ang OBD2 scanner para ma rule-out po ang posibleng issues dulot ng faulty sensors, evap leak, lean air-fuel mixture, cylinder misfires, etc.., at para malaman din po ang error history at current condition ng makina. i-off nyo po muna makina at ikabit nyo ulit yung MAF sensor. Kailangan po nakakabit ang MAF sensor kasi yun po ay isa sa nagreregulate ng tamang air-to-fuel ratio na kailangan ng makina. Mago-ON po ang Check Engine Light Pag pinaandar nyo makina na walang MAF sensor. Maraming factors po ang nagde-determine ng engine rpm (ex. throttle position, ecu programming, fuel injection, vehicle load, acceleration pedal input, ignition timing, etc), at depende po kung bakit nyo kailangan ireset.

Normal po kasi na mag fluctuate pataas at pababa ang rpm tuwing nageengage at disengage ang AC clutch ng compressor, kaya ko po naitanong kung sobrang galit na galit po ang makina ng unit nyo

Usually po medyo rough talaga idle during relearning process ng ecu pero bumabalik din sa normal pag ginamit nyo na ang sasakyan, after about 50 to 100 km (slow - fast - slow driving). Pag hindi pa rin po bumalik sa normal o kung masyadong malikot ang fluctuation at may unusual vibration ang makina maaring vacuum leak po ang dahilan or maduming MAF sensor. Ipa check nyo po dun sa gumawa.

Pls don’t take this personally but i am curious on how by doing this steps will reset the ECU or “Relearn” the idle of an engine.
I appreciate your question. First, you learn this by studying automotive mechanics; second, by doing your research; and third, through experience. To answer your other question, the ECU or ECM is designed to reset or refresh its memory when the power supply to it is interrupted. It is configured to store default parameters and delete adaptive memories as necessary, much like how you can erase or refresh your computer's Random Access Memory when you restart it. Similar to your computer's RAM, the ECU also stores (or relearns) new information as you use your vehicle. The ECU or ECM functions similarly to your computer's RAM by storing or learning new information about your driving habits, fuel trims, ignition timing, idle speed, etc. These are referred to as adaptive parameters, which the ECU stores as new memory as you drive your vehicle.

Hi. If you are installing a new ECM/ECU you will need a scanner to write the VIN to the new ECM/ECU and you need to input the codes for the immobiliser, otherwise the car will not start.

Good day.. regarding s idling.. during traffic with stop and go situation rpm goes 500 and felt vibration but after a moderate traffic rpm is fine.. San po pde magsimula ng troubleahooting? Vios automatic...
Hi sir. You can start by observing if the RPM drop occurs during braking. If it does, it could be a sign of a developing vacuum leak in the brakes and/or brake booster system.
Other things to consider are possible vacuum leaks in the intake hoses and EVAP system; condition of the MAF sensor, O2 sensors, throttle body; possible cyclinder misfires, condition of the sparkplugs/ignition coils, just to name a few.
However, in order to minimize guesswork, it would be a good idea to obtain a comprehensive diagnostics with an OBD2 scanner to check the error history (if any) and performance of the engine, sensors, and ignition system, among other things.
Please note, however, that occasional slight vibration is normal for in-line four cylinder engines due to the way mechanical balance is affected or distributed during the combustion cycle.

For automatic cars, just perform STEP 1 for 10-15 minutes.
Then, reconnect the battery and start the engine. Skip step 2. Let it idle until the RPM goes down to about 900 - 700 then turn on the A/C while idling for 5 minutes.
After five minutes, drive around for at least 15 - 30 minutes with A/C "ON." Drive at varying speeds (slow to fast) to help the ECU relearn the shifting points.
The initial run may be slightly rougher than usual, but it is to be expected during the relearning process. It will eventually stabilize as the ECU relearns the new parameters while you continue to use your car.

Pwede nyo po subukan, pero kung may problema sa wiring o fuse, o incompatibility sa firmware o protocol ng OBD2 scanner at on-board computer ng makina, hindi po sya uubra. Icheck nyo din po kung tugma yung connector ng scanner, at yung power level ng battery, at kung ok ang grounding.

The engine may behave erratically if the old parameters are not deleted from the ecu memory.

The reason for connecting the positive cable first is to ensure that any accidental contact between the positive cable and the metal parts of the car does not create sparks. Sparks near the battery can be dangerous, as the chemical reactions inside the battery produces flammable gases (specifically hydrogen & oxygen) that can be ignited by sparks. By connecting the positive cable first, you reduce the chances of sparking near the battery.

Hi sir. No need na po kung hindi naman umiilaw ang check engine light o kung wala naman naging problema, pero kung meron pong issues pwede nyo po subukan.
In case hindi po kinaya ng simpleng reset, pwede nyo po gamitan ng OBD 2 scanner para idelete ang errors at macheck na din ang status ng mga sensors at ng makina.

Subukan nyo po ireset ecu then obserbahan nyo. Kung memory lang ang dahilan mawawala po yung kadyot, pero pag di pa rin nawala ibalik nyo po dun sa gumawa para macheck nila mga vacuum hoses, wirings, etc.
In case po makuha sa reset, maaring mapansin nyo na medyo naging "rough" ang makina sa umpisa kasi nagre-relearn pa ang ecu pero unti-unti po sya babalik sa normal habang ginagamit nyo sasakyan.

Kung 1 day disconnected sa battery malamang po nag reset na sya, hayaan nyo na lang po mag relearn ang ECU. Idrive nyo na lang normally gaya ng dati. Unti unti po magre-relearn ang ECU habang dinadrive ang sasakyan (for about 50km to 100km). Yung steps po sa video ay para lang ma-facilitate ang relearning process pero kahit hindi nyo na ulitin yun. Salamat po.

Yes sir, maari po. Kasi 10A fuse lang ang nasa engine compartment fuse box (No. 18 slot) para sa turn signals/hazard lights. Pag ni-trace po tunog ng flasher nanggagaling sya sa likod ng dash panel mismo. Maaring electronic circuit relay na po ang nakakabit instead of traditional relay. Maybe casa could help with specifics.

Based sa diagram at sa nakita ko habang nagbabaklas, IG1 (Ignition) relay at aircon relay ung malapit sa A pillar sa driver side sa likod ng instrument cluster, sa likod naman ng radio fog relay, rear fog relay and tail lamp relay ang nakita ko.

Sir, ipacheck nyo po kondisyon ng BATTERY (baka mahina o palitin na), BATTERY CABLES (kung may damage) & BATT CABLE CONTACTS (for loose connection), at ALTERNATOR (kung sapat ang supply ng kuryente). Isama nyo na din po ang DRIVE BELT (belt tension baka maluwag o dumudulas).

Wala pong problema unit nyo kung umaabot ng 2500 ang rpm nya sa bilis na 100kph. May 'rubber band effect' po talaga ang CVT transmission kaya medyo may konting delay po sya kumpara sa manual transmission.

Hi sir. For automatic cars, just perform STEP 1 for 10-15 minutes.
Then, reconnect the battery and start the engine. Let it idle until the RPM goes down to about 900 - 700 then turn on the A/C while idling for 5 minutes.
After five minutes, drive around for at least 15 - 30 minutes with A/C "ON." Drive at varying speeds (slow to fast) to help the ECU relearn the shifting points.
The initial run may be slightly rougher than usual, but it is to be expected during the relearning process. It will eventually stabilize as the ECU relearns the new parameters while you continue to use your car.

Pwede nyo po yan itest:
1) Ilagay nyo lang muna sa "ON" yung susi for about 5 seconds or more para makapag prime yung fuel pump.
2) Then tsaka nyo i-start makina.
Pag nagstart agad, mababa o mahinang fuel pressure po ang problema.

Kung ganun po, mababa nga po ang fuel pressure nyan. Pag ipinahinga nyo na kasi ang sasakyan unti unti na bababa ang fuel pressure sa fuel line pag defective ang pressure regulator (or check valve o may leak sa fuel injectors) kaya pag inistart nyo uli matagal na naman ang redondo kasi kailangan nya pa ipunin ang required fuel pressure para paandarin ang makina.
Ang maaring sanhi po ng problema ay yung pressure regulator or check valve or fuel injector o kaya maduming fuel filter.
Paps effective din po ba to para sa may check engine?
Kailangan po ma-identify at mai-ayos muna ang cause ng CEL, kasi babalik po yun kung irereset lang nang hindi nai-repair ang dahilan.

Hi sir. Ilan po sa mga senyales ay rough idling, mahina o delayed ang hatak, malakas sa gasolina, minsan bigla namamatay makina parang sakal, pwede rin po ma-trigger ang Check Engine Light, at pag sinilip ang throttle may carbon build up na sa butterfly valve at loob ng throttle body.
After throttle body cleaning nagbabago rin po ang reading ng ECU sa airflow vs throttle position kaya maaring tumaas ang idle RPM at minsan biglang nagagalit ang makina habang umaandar ang sasakyan. Pag ganun pwede po ireset ang ECU para ma-relearn ang bagong throttle position.
Normal idle speed range po pag naka-ON ang A/C ay 650 - 900.

Hi sir. Makikita po difference sa behavior ng makina. Kung naging mataas o erratic ang RPM after throttle body cleaning magno-normalize po sya after reset, babalik po sya sa nornal idle RPM range na 650 - 900. Kung may Check Engine Light po bago mag-reset, usually nawawala na sya after. Yung system clock po nagre-reset din. Minsan, after reset medyo nagiging rough po ng konti ang makina habang nagre-relearn pa ang ECU pero nag no normalize din po sya after 50km - 100km run. Kaya habang dina-drive po ang sasakyan unti unti rin nire-relearn ng ECU ang bagong driving parameters at nagaadjust sya accordingly.

Hindi po sa lahat sir. Step 1 works on most vehicles (except high-end vehicles with complex-redundant ECUs). Step 2 works on Vios/Yaris with manual transmission (a different sequence applies to vehicles with automatic transmission.)

Usually po hindi na kailangan kung hindi naman naging erratic ang rpm ng makina.

Makakatulong po kung mapa-scan muna ang Vios nyo gamit ang OBD2 scanner para ma rule-out po ang posibleng issues dulot ng faulty sensors, evap leak, lean air-fuel mixture, cylinder misfires, etc.., at para malaman din po ang error history at current condition ng makina.

i-off nyo po muna makina at ikabit nyo ulit yung MAF sensor. Kailangan po nakakabit ang MAF sensor kasi yun po ay isa sa nagreregulate ng tamang air-to-fuel ratio na kailangan ng makina. Mago-ON po ang Check Engine Light Pag pinaandar nyo makina na walang MAF sensor. Maraming factors po ang nagde-determine ng engine rpm (ex. throttle position, ecu programming, fuel injection, vehicle load, acceleration pedal input, ignition timing, etc), at depende po kung bakit nyo kailangan ireset.

@@Viosified the issue is code U1001 its about ECU need to re set. My car is a Nissan March k12, i did the same thing exactly what you did, i thought it will also be applicable to other cars other than vios...

For cars with push button start, just perform step 1 for 10-15 minutes.
Next, start the engine and let it idle until the RPM goes down to 700 - 900 then turn on the AC for about 5 minutes.
After five minutes, drive around for at least 15 - 30 minutes with AC "ON" to allow the ECU to relearn the new parameters. The initial run may be a little rough during the relearning process but it will eventually stabilize after driving the car around a few times. The ECU will continue to relearn the more you use the car.
