RUclips's algorithm is doing something correctly
In a strategic move, Broadway has decided to lower their costs by hiring just one person to play the three major roles in the next showing of "Phantom of the Opera." Here he is--the man of many voices and a singing range that makes what's-her-face a forgotten 90s icon.
The only reason why Nick Pitera doesn't have his own, one man phantom show is probably because changing costumes that quick, back and forth, is kind of impossible.
Stéphanie OkHee he could dress in a black suit and take on a mask for the phantom, a blonde wig for Raul and a stand up with a dress.
Lilith Potter Should give that a try! :'D
I think there's something called doble cara where you have two halves of your costumes and just turn to that character to change.
Plus he would ruin the real phantom of the opera... He did GOOD but not perfect
Also the duets.
I love how he gets into the character 😂😂in his moves and voice I'm amazed

Yup
exactly what I was expecting lol
I see you're new lol
Jesus! How the hell can someone nail all those vocals so proficiently, where the genuine actors were struggling? As a vocalist with a fairly wide range, I am awestruck.
Although I'm genuinely awestruck by this guy's range, I would say the only actor that really struggled with their specific part in some places was the actor who played Raoul. I personally didn't like the acting for Raoul in the 2004 at all, he made the character out to be very shallow and it didn't feel like he really cared for her at all. But I think he occasionally struggled with some of his notes as well. That being said, Emmy Rossum did the most fantastic job possible as Christine. She was 16 years old at the time and still nailed every single note. And the actor for Phantom did an incredible job as well, although it's possible that some of his higher notes he might've struggled on, but he plays an excellent higher bass range and his acting is absolutely stunning.
AuroraBorealisSings S-She was SIXTEEN??!!
@@croissant1949 Yes, she most definitely was. She was 16 when she was cast, and probably between 16-17 while filming, and she was 18 when it was released. She's the reason I sing today and I can do most of the notes because of it (those last two in "Phantom of the Opera" being the obvious struggle 😅). I knew as a kid how young she was and it's why it was easy to look up to her. She blew me away. Not to mention Gerard Butler, but that's another story entirely.
The climax of the 3 voices at the end , does something to my brain, the original film and Broadway always get me on this scene but something about the 3 voices coming from the same person just makes it incredible
Nick Pitera, if you ever read this, you're exquisite
I love not only the singing, but the acting put into each role you sing. Raoul looks kind, yet at times cautious, Christine looks sweet, yet also bewildered, and the phantom just held a constant state of mystery and sensitivity.
When its three different people I prefer the phantom's voice a little deeper. Seeing one man sing all three parts, that"s too rare to complain. Then there's laugh.... up there with Mark Hammel.
Daniel Stellmon I think you’re looking for a different word... the phantom couldn’t sing any deeper than the music is written or else he would just be flat.
Arianna Sardo what about darker?
@@nuclearowlet4212 I agree. To my understanding he is a tenor/counter-tenor and therefore feels quite comfortable singing soprano parts. That's why the male voices may sound similar in some parts. Amazing work, though!
@@ariannasardo7876 deep in this sense refers to timbre and the quality of the voice. Not necessarily the actual pitch.
Like a more pinched, suppressed sound as opposed to an open, bright sound

When I heard his other songs, it thought he's cool. When I heard him sing this Phantom of the Opera medley, I realized he is freaking awesome. When I mention Phantom of the Opera to most guys(and girls) they just give me this blank look. Phantom of the Opera is my favorite movie and what made me love and look into his other songs!
If you've watched the movie and haven't watched the original musical renditions (I'm just assuming because you referred to it as a "movie" rather than a "musical"), you totally should!! The movie is great, but you can find some amazing classically-trained singers' performances on here. Ramin karimloo's phantom is one that cannot be missed!
+Mouza Almualla Ramin is the bomb.
My friend showed me the 25th and now I can't see anything else because it is too fabulous that I can't watch the movie... it doesn't have the same passion as the one performed on the stage.
+Madison Johnson I went to the 25th event when they played it in theaters. I've seen the stage show 2 times (Once in Detroit and once in Chicago). The show in Chicago was part of the new staging, which I absolutely loved. It is coming to back to MI in May, and I will be seeing it probably more than once. I was not a fan of the movie at all. Butler is good for the acting part of the Phantom, but his voice just was not a good fit. My favorite two will still always be Michael and Sarah. But Ramin and Sierra are definitely 2nd.
B Weers Oh my goodness, that is wonderful!
Where can I find the edition with Sarah and Michael?
The movie is pretty decent. But if you have a chance to see the stage show, go see it! It is a zillion times better! If you can't, at least listen to the original soundtrack or watch the 25th Anniversary Concert (which can be found online). You will hear much better renditions of the songs. Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess are one of the best Phantom and Christine castings you will ever see.
Singing "Think of Me" and "That's all I ask of you" to myself...... story of my life.
I like singing Story Of My Life😏
I love that he’s able to make his voice sound feminine too. He’s not just a man singing in a high voice, he’s singing _as Christine._ Brava, brava, bravissima!

This bloke is a phenomenon. Musical theatre in short at its very best
If I went to see phantom on broadway and he came out in a wig as Christine, I seriously wouldn't care. This guy is freaking amazing.
When I hear his upstairs voice, I think of a beautiful Disney Princess; and his downstairs voice, a handsome Disney Prince..@___@
Amazing technique, facial expression, vocal tone, choice of body language which expresses a story. Amazing or as he says “BRAVO”!!!
My heart started beating fast when he started with Christine's part. I'm tearing up.
I'm a soprano 1 and Nick has a higher range than I will ever dream of having.
SAME!
if only I had a voice as beautiful and high as his
He is only doing a female alto, its not really that high at all. But it is quite impressive for a masculine range. You might have been placed improperly if you are in chorus, I was when I was in it. If the teacher barely grasps their job and places you in the wrong place you might not even realize it unless you take something like AP Music Theory, or just take some time to study music in general. It's worth it in the long run if you study some, if you are really interested you should study it. I had lots of fun. :)
+Alice Faircloth I'm thinking of getting vocal lessons so I can strengthen my voice and be able to talk like a real commanding woman instead of a timid child. I also wanna be able to sing a tune on key and in range
+Alice Faircloth I actually took music theory once, and I agree it was great! I've been immersed in music since I was six and I picked up the violin. My chorus directly majored in choral studies and directing, so hopefully he didn't place me wrong, but it might have happened since he did it maybe two years ago. I just meant that Christine part. Like, wow. I wish I had that control. I might be able to hit that, but at a major volume and after a whole lot of trying.
That's some incredible talent right there.
this video is so old i don’t really know why it was in my recs but you know what? i’m not complaining. he did not have to go this hard but he did and i can appreciate it
