  • Located at Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah, Texas, Boardwalk Bullet is a rather unique wooden roller coaster. It has to be one of the most compact coasters I have ever ridden and somehow squeezes over 3,200 feet of track into less than one acre of land!

From what I've heard, M&V refurbishes this coaster on an annual basis. So it gets better and better every year...I rode this in late June and it just shredded through the layout start to finish.

OMG !!!!!!! I love this coaster, probably was the first “real” roller coaster i ever went on. I remember i was having a really shi....... bad day when i went there, looked at the coaster trying to convince myself to go on it thinking “ why not, how can this day get worse? “ ended up riding it 5 time in a row that day and you know what ? My day got better, all cause of this ride.

The way they maintain this coaster is a model that theme parks everywhere should follow. I moved to the Houston area in 2013 and rode it for the first time that year. I try to go to KB at least once a year and each time I go, Boardwalk Bullet is a better experience than the time before. Now after watching this video, I may have to go next week for spring break 😉, but maybe not because it'll be packed, even during the week.

I used to live in Houston and rode this 125 times in it's first week. I have ridden it over 300 times. I'm an out and back girl but this ride is good. I haven't ridden it but once in the past 10 years but the train was empty because it was on a week day and it ran sluggish. When I go to Houston again for Christmas, I'll go back to Kemah and give it a ride because it's beautiful out there at night during the holidays and the air is crisp then.

Hey thanks for video. I worked at the boardwalk as a ride operator and rides lead/Supervisor from 2014- April 2019. Yes the Bullet has improved over the years and yes I do agree it was really ruff back in 2013-2014 but after the improvements it runs way better. They have to grease the cars each morning before operating but they can’t put too much grease. Keeping the speed at control not to have so much damage to the track. But it’s well worth it. Just M&V wouldn’t have rushed to build this coaster. The reason why it’s so compact is because of the amount of land that was bought. The owners of the beach house right next to ride didn’t want to sell. So they had to build the coaster what it is now. That beach house is never used and I wish the owners would have just sold that land to Mr. Tilman (Landry’s INC CEO). But the coaster has had its ups and downs since being Built. We celebrated the coasters 10 year anniversary back in July of 2017. In 2020 Bullet will be 13 years old. But thanks for the shots.

I really like your in-depth approach to reviewing coasters. Best in the biz, honestly. In the future, though, I think you should try to find ways to reduce the repetition in your script. Maybe try not to say "ride", "pop", "airtime", and the like multiple times in the same sentence. Mixing up the vocab just a bit would make the element description feel less padded out and emphasize what I think you're trying to do in appreciating what each individual segment brings to the overall experience of the coaster.

Having ridden most of America's wood coasters, Boardwalk Bullet is by far the most thrilling and intense. This ride is truly over the top & proves too wild for some people. BB was a very rough mess several years ago, and now runs smooth, but incredibly out-of-control. Phoenix is my personal favorite (having helped save it), but Boardwalk Bullet is the most thrilling. It's also only 3 hours away!

I'm a General P. who doesn't care much for amusement park rides but enjoys occasionally binging videos about and I gotta say, I'm loving your reviews and in-depth examinations more than any I've seen before. Especially how you narrate every second of the experience with multiple video angles, then run the whole ride start to finish under your conclusions. For us visual people who often forget things that go by quickly, it's a big help!
One thing that's missing from so many coaster channels is a single video running through an explanation of each common element. Over time it becomes clear what many of these are through on-the-spot explanations ('bat wing' in the review with all the positive G's) or sheer repetition ('block', natch). But I'm still a little confused on the specific difference between, say, a helix vs a turnaround or a banked vs a highly banked vs an over banked turn.
One could, of course, search RUclips for this but then one risks adding more and more videos to my - er, I mean _one's_ current playlist, AND out of all the channels I've watched, with your skill for explaining things thoroughly yet concisely I'd most like to see this from you.
Anyway thanks for sharing your incredibly lit enthusiasm with us. It slaps, man. 🎢🍍

This sounds fun. Love you and your content mang. I just went to Dorney on Saturday night. It wasn’t my first time there, but it was still fun. I got a legendary front row night night ride on Steel Force. I had way too much room, like a fist size or more and my seatbelt was loose. The tiny GP part of me was partially convinced I’d be ejected from the train on the first drop. Of course I knew that wouldn’t happen. But oh man was the ride hauling! I got some of the most ridiculous floater I’ve ever experienced. And it was sustained too. Like 2 to 4 seconds of airtime on some of those hills. I bet the people behind us were fearing for our lives. That one ride was better than Nitro or Ride of Steel though Ride of Steel has more ejector which I preferred. I now have another ride experience to add to my list of unforgettable rides. Now I need to get to Florida and ride Mako which I’m sure will be even better.

That got me to thinking “what is a ride’s hourly capacity when you include sanitizing every train every other lap around the course?” That would be an interesting ride operations video.

Damn that history is kinda sad, actually. Can't believe Martin and Vleminckx rushed that construction. Wood coasters built in that fashion needs skill and proper time to assemble, because you are building all of that on site using skilled carpentry. Yes it will not be perfect, but traditional wood coasters need that time and care put into it. I'm glad they are building really good wood coasters for the Gravity Group now, and this definitely looks to be one of Gravity Group's best. Super13 I consider it a wheel seat when the wheels are under your ass. In the front row of a 2-bench PTC car, the wheels ride under your feet

I live just a few miles from this coaster. I would ride it more but unless you are planning on marathoning this coaster all day it's hard to justify routinely spending $25 for a single coaster, plus that doesn't include the parking either.

      Its $25??

@@jwashington4863 An adult All-Day ride pass at Kemah is $25. If you just want to take a single ride on Boardwalk Bullet, then it's $6. I'm not sure what HYDRAdude is talking about with the parking? I've visited Kemah twice (the second time was in 2018), and the parking was free both times. Does Kemah charge for parking at times?

Imagine if this got the RMC treatment. It’d be crazy then.

I think it’s a bit too short, and it’d be risky investing, considering it is on a boardwalk in a location prone to hurricanes

If this got RMC'd I'd make an argument that RMC offically made a ride worse and not better. 🥴

Looks like a lot of fun! But in terms of track length per acreage, I think Cyclone at Coney Island might have it beat by a fair bit (2,640 feet in around 0.8 acre). A quick and dirty Google Earth area calculation gave me 49,000 square feet for Boardwalk Bullet, and 36,000 square feet for Cyclone. This works out to 0.066 feet per square foot for Boardwalk Bullet, and 0.074 feet per square foot for Cyclone.
