    Reggie asks what the equalizer is for skill and I honestly dont think Riot cares about that. Woolie got it totally correct about what happens in League of Legends. At low levels people simply are not using all the concepts and mechanics and you will hit a brick wall at a certain level until you do.
    It's ONLY Japanese fighting game developers that have become so obsessed with this idea, every other genre trusts that they're making a good game that people will enjoy and will simply play and get good if they enjoy it. All you get is an MMR system that hopefully pairs you with equal teammates and opponents.
    Ironically what people call the baby game from a baby company is from a company that produces a MOBA, a Counter Strike clone, and a card game, all genres that are absolutely complicated with a ton of unique concepts and jargon that are not transferable to other genres and throws people to the wolves despite all their games LOOKING casual. MOBAs are often described as being impenetrable and social experiences with them terrible yet still DOTA and LOL have some of the largest player bases and are the largest spectator games with the largest tournament winnings in gaming.
    Because fundamentally DOTA and Counter Strike are some of the most hardcore fucking games to ever exist, and Riot makes games in that genre every bit as hardcore (at high levels) no matter what people say and Riot managed to get hundreds of millions of people to play them.

      don't know what you could realistically do as an analogue for jungling in a fighting game, unless it was a character specific thing- maybe the Fuse system could have one where it modifies the assists/switch ins so that they come in in a different way, in order to simulate a gank

      @nahuel3433 Год назад +1

      I feel like the tags are already that a bit?
      Like in a game of league, if you are a laner, which is most people, a jungle is that one dude that once in a while appears with the assist when you need them so you double team your opponent.
      So assists capture that. Especially stuff like the burst animation I think is the Assist bailing you out of the opponets attack.

    • @SSD_Penumbra
      @SSD_Penumbra Год назад +2

      Because Jungling isn't a concept in fighting games. Jungling requires there to be a lane specific map, which fighters just don't have. League's Jungler champs make fantastic fighting game characters though, because they rely on combos to deal a ton of damage then dip before things get hairy. Vi is a classic example of this.

      @@GimmeUhSammich the settlement was reached 2 years ago, not 5. And key part of it was "diversity training" which is a fancy way of saying that no one who was apart of the discrimination will get removed or demoted. It also shields those people from the testimony of the victims. Remember that these are people that made sexual threats to people. 100 million dollars is an insane amount to pay for a settlement and it means that a large number of important people at Riot had to be involved.

    While I understand woolies excitement, I find myself agreeing with the sentiment that it is a shame that Project L are going so indepth with sauce.
    The brilliance of Rising Thunder was it's simplicity, and it kinda sucks that they are abandoning that design idea (Obviously its great for the team because they clearly want to make this)
