Best control room ever with the glass wall looking out to the turbine hall. Most control rooms are hidden away on the upper floor behind the switch rooms. Awesome find, great explore
A massive congratulations and thanks Lads on achieving a very well deserved 100K subscribers and also for the constant quality of the videos that you produce. The effort that goes into researching, planning, logistics as well as the videography and editing is in my opinion second to none, and you provide us with content that surpasses much of what is on main stream TV. As for this specific video, I was just blown away both with the content but also the location and the views that you gave us. The turbine hall was amazing and that control room just had to be the best. Thanks again.
Great video guys, think this was a oil fired station, as Portishead station Bristol...as can see two oil holding tanks behind the boiler house.. A gas station will be a combined cycle system, using a jet engine coupled to a alternator / turbine and no boilers as such..this has a chimney and cooling towers too, gas stations have gas fume extraction systems.
That has to be the best locations for any power station. The architecture and design is fabulous- typical Italian design which I particularly love. What an amazing explore lads, really enjoy the running commentary and obvious like of tech too. I’m joining your Patreon - new subscriber from the UK.
Wow guys, this plant seemed to be closed way before it's time. It's hard to believe that it was built so long ago. Very modern design and incredibly clean structure compared to other plants. Man that view : ) Keep up the great work! Congrats on your 100,000 : )
Cracking video. As a side note, the turbines generated around 150MW of power each. The refinery nearby is also abandoned and should have a small power plant of its own.
Wow that place is fantastic. The design of the steel structure of the turbine hall and the way they integrated the crane is amazing. Oh an congrats on 100K :)
Very well done lads. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for your efforts to share your adventures with us and congratulations on the subscriptions. Quality stuff.
Massive congratulations lads, on reaching 100k subscribers 🥳 !!!! It’s a very well deserved accomplishment 👏🏻 I always look forward to your videos, the editing only ever gets better and the locations are really interesting. Keep up the good work 😊👏🏻
Hiya Alistair, congrats on 100k subscribers, I accidently watched your vlog on Debenhams in Manchester, and I've never looked back since, I always think your going to be caught but not always, my backside sometimes falls out when you've hid yourself waiting for hours to they go away, I cant wait for the suprise you have in your next vlog, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England
Absolutely fantastic video. Thanks so much for exploring and documenting. This is one of my favourite vids. Congratulations on your subscriptions and although a hobby and channel for you guys it gives so many others an insight into the current world we live in and the recent past as well. Keep up the good work for as long as you can and more importantly enjoy it 👍
Congratulations on 100k subs 🎉😊 Really enjoyed this film, really atmospheric during & after thunder storm. At least you didn't get woken up by the rain, I like those hammocks, they look comfy. Amazing mountains & superb views, at first I thought Italian/Swiss border, now I guess France. What a great adventure, take care & thanks for all your work editing videos, it shows. 🙂🌠
Another really clean site and I'm beginning to feel ashamed that I'm surprised by the lack of graffiti and wanton vandalism that we're used to in the UK and other top five G7 'economically successful and civilised' countries..! I'm clinging to there usually being a heavy security presence, present company's experience excepted of course. That and the punishment for trespass and trashing the place being stupendously serious. 19:38 Those big sheets of glass of the control room wouldn't last a minute here. As another said, you should have climbed the chimney. Bit of a throwaway comment and hope they were joking. But looking at the site now, the chimney's been demolished so no chance no more.
Is this in France or Switzerland? I'm thinking Switzerland, because France typically doesnt have issues with power in winter with all the nuclear power plants (they have had problems during summer in recent years due to low river water levels).
Abandoned power station is the best in the world 🌎🌎🌎
The best video TOO
Smashed it out the park with this one. Congrats on the 100,000 subs.
Wow, thank you, Still in such great condition. Hardly any mindless graffiti or damage.
Best control room ever with the glass wall looking out to the turbine hall. Most control rooms are hidden away on the upper floor behind the switch rooms. Awesome find, great explore
I totally agree, the design is beautiful for a relatively modern plant
That is a wonderful location the plant was built on. Never seen any thing like it. Thanks for showing.
nice.. I used to be able to see that chimney from my house when I lived in Grandvaux 20 years ago ..
Thank you for poking us out the little hole 19:03, that was a spectacular view.
You are welcome
stunning video! and stunning place!

Thank you very much! Means a great deal pal. Glad you enjoyed this video, too
Narration is top notch
I would think they would produce more than 700kw, maybe 700Mw?
Great video guys, think this was a oil fired station, as Portishead station Bristol...as can see two oil holding tanks behind the boiler house..

Amazing place perfectly preserved. Thanks!!
Well lads, I am blown away with that video outstanding well done for reaching 100,000😊
Cracking video. As a side note, the turbines generated around 150MW of power each. The refinery nearby is also abandoned and should have a small power plant of its own.
It used left over oil from the oil refinery process from the nearby oil refinery as a fuel but that refinery has by now been demolished sadly
Yeah 700kw didn't sound quite right
Wow that place is fantastic. The design of the steel structure of the turbine hall and the way they integrated the crane is amazing.
Oh an congrats on 100K :)
Imagine if they'd got the gantry crane going! There'd have been a fight to see who got first go on riding the hook and block section.

Know leave untouched but I bet some of the old manuals and blueprints would make a pretty penny off collectors
Shame you didn't climb up the outside of the chimney too.
It's like youtube pushes urbex to the back?
Is this in France or Switzerland?
I'm thinking Switzerland, because France typically doesnt have issues with power in winter with all the nuclear power plants (they have had problems during summer in recent years due to low river water levels).
I think it's the Chavalon thermal power plant in the canton of Valais, Switzerland
класс
Great video.... but that exposed unfixed flaky asbestos lagging majes me concerned for your long term health.... please wear RPE!
Welcome to Switzerland! de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraftwerk_Chavalon
