    I always get a chuckle when people chime in that, "it looks too big on your wrist." I don't wear watches to impress other people. I wear watches I love. I don't give two cents what someone thinks about the watch on my wrist if I love it. Watches are about ME not YOU. :)
    Anyway. Great review! I just bought this watch yesterday and LOVE it. It is one of the most beautiful watches Omega makes. Great company.

    great review. i think your extended use of arm/pocket/wrist shots really sets this review apart from all the other SM300M reviews, especially for use slimmer wrist guys who are trying to make purchasing decisions and would like to see the watch ‘in action’.

      YES. This is part of why this video has been super useful! But it has also introduced me to the shininess of the case- which I'm personally not too big a fan of....
      Idk what my next piece will be but now I kinda do know at the same time... But I can't say what that watch is being that it'll only have a very limited quantity made....

    What I’ve learned is that the lug to lug measurement is more important than the case diameter measurement as far as wearability. 2 watches with the same case diameter but different lug to lug measurement can wear very differently.

    • @BrokeWatchFanatic
      @BrokeWatchFanatic  3 года назад +2

      I learned that as well. Here's a tip, take the diameter of your wrist. Mine is 2". Then convert that to mm which is 50.8mm. That should be your maximum lug to lug.

    I recently tried on this watch at my local AD and, I have to say to anyone worried about the size, it absolutely does not wear like a 42. I don’t have large wrists and was also not sure about it after reading all of the comments that it’s too big but after trying it on in person, for me the size felt perfect. In fact, I also tried on the new 41 Submariner and that one actually felt like the larger watch despite the measurements. Personally I liked the rubber strap option as it was more comfortable than the bracelet which actually did look a bit large since it doesn’t taper. It’s a completely different experience seeing it in person vs online and photos so if you’re able to, check it out in person!

    What's up man, I just watched your video and I appreciate your insight!
    I'm new to the horology life and actually went with a Seamaster 300m for my 1st luxury watch purchase.
    I appreciate the point you brought up about - not psyching yourself out (getting caught up in the weeds/details) and count yourself out in a watch that could really be meant for you.
    As they say, "shooters gon' shoot!", so the same applies in this situation - try it out, give it a shot, and most of all make a smart financial decision in going for what you love.
    Great video bro!

    I've got the white one, 2 days old, got to say it looks nowhere near 42mm. Bit of an optical illusion, when you have the blue, black and silver together with the white; the white looks smaller than it's stablemates. You are correct, you don't buy a watch for numbers, how wide it's lugs are, you buy it because it make you go wow! A beautiful, accomplished watch. If you get the opportunity go for it. Happy horology.

    Similar story to you - started with seiko divers, eventually had an aquaracer too which I since sold, and now have smaller watches like 36mm tudors. The SMP 300m black with rubber was probably the first watch I was wowed by when entering the hobby and now taking another look at it now!

    I've got the Speedmaster Racing that is 44.25MM, which actually really wears like a actual 42MM. Eventhough it tells you that the case is bigger, it really doesn't wear bas big as they say. If you would wear a 44.25mm rolex, it will feel like a brick, but this isn't the case with Omega

    Great looking watch. Personally, I still think it is a bit too big for your wrist, however if you love it and feel confident wearing it, it is a good buy. I am a big fan of the Seamaster 300M for a very long time, but I didn’t have a change to try it on my 6.3” wrist, until I had the money, tried it at the AD and realised that it is too big for me. Therefore I went with the Black Bay 58 which is my second option, still in the honeymoon with it.

      It was intentional for the video, but I went back to wearing it the right way lol
