Similar journey here. Long story short, I should have purchased the 124060 from the get go. Do not settle. Now I have the sub, I am not looking at any other dive watches. I couldn't say the same while had the 300m on hand.

I have been loving my Sinn EZM-3f since I got it-but I have the same issue: the PR is just not enough. Sinn, amongst many others, would do well to use the other best Swiss-made option, La Joux-Perret G100. That movement has a 68 hour power reserve, and was designed to be a direct fit replacement for the SW200 and ETA 2824. I’ve often thought about having a watchmaker put in a soignée version, and regulate it in multiple positions.

The new 36mm is to small imo and the 40mm is to big. The previous generation 36mm and 39mm had much better proportions

Excellent and balanced review. I agree that the accuracy performance of the Seiko movement is problematic. For the kind of money that Seiko asking, consumers deserve more.

The German letters on the date wheel is a cool feature.

Nice watch, but 40 hours is indeed not enough nowadays.

The bezel is supposed to be loud and not smooth. It is not just playing with. If you understand is purpose of diving you may have a better understanding of why they did it this way. The sound/vibration will translate through dive gloves 🧤. I hope this helps.

Just bought a 2009 Kermit looks great the clasp need a little work but overall it’s a great 50 year Anniversary piece love the Green bezel pointed 4 square 5.

i have this exact 104 with the anthricite dial. it has the orange seconds hand, limited edition, 1 of 100........i never wore it, never connected with it.

I still use my rolex kermit until now the green bezel looks vibrant and shiny after so many years it never goes out of style.

I ordered the same watch, although I haven't been home yet to see it in person. While I understand your opinion on the power reserve, I think you would have to go to a much higher price point to get more than 40-48 hours of power reserve. I know there a some that slow down their movements in order to get 80 hours, but to me 40 hours is fine, and you can always wind it with the crown if needed. I think it's a fantastic piece for the price given that it's a numbered special edition.

I own a Ginault 181175LSILN, and I absolutely loved it. However, it is not a submariner, it is not a replacement for a Rolex. What it is, is a high quality beautifully crafted homage to the Rolex sub. I was shocked how much I wore the Ginault and it became my daily for a long time, IIRC right up until my AD called me to say go collect my sub. My plan was to pass the Ginault on to a friend as a gift, but I might bang it on eBay and see if I can get anything back on it as its in great condition and I've just ordered the latest Ploprof , so the money would be nice :)

Too small for an adult male, even if your wrists are small but youre over 6ft it just looks off. I keep trying it on and cant get over it. The 40 is way more substantial and proportional.

I really love what ginault are doing but why do they need to have a wall of text just like Rolex 😩 I considered buying one buy I just couldn’t do it , can’t stand the wall of unnecessary text on the daily sadly

I've noticed something as I've gotten older. I'm slowly losing interest in the Rolex design. Love the bracelet though, but the rest is just typical Rolex and my eyes don't get excited anymore like that used to and I'm glad because now my mind is able to look at other watches and I'll pleasantly surprised. Far better out there for the price range

Well I have been on the list for the Rolex for 3 1/2 yrs and I just ordered the Ginault rover 2.5 last night. So I'm team Ginault with my SS and Rover ll 2.5 coming ing 6 weeks.

A copy can never be better than the original. Rolex legit had to do research and development. The other just copied the homework

I was hoping for the black seconds hand matte finish version to come out again. But, I noticed they jip you on the clasp too. They already have the new clasp and they did not attach it to this one. They should have done that aswell blasting the clasp to justify this price. Sinn has one of the highest inflation currently..... pass, keeping my black dial regular version but got the adjustable clasp.

In person, you will not notice the difference between the bracelet width etc. I have held both and chose the Explorer 1. But very insightful video regardless.

Also I see you got rid of your SPB381. What made you change your mind? I'm looking to pick one up

Bracelet the only saving grace

Ich war echt mal ein großer Seiko Fan, aber da bei Seiko einfach keine Neuerungen kommen und uns für ne Ganggenauigkeit von +25 - -15 Sek am TAG einfach unglaubliche Summen abgenommen werden, werde ich mir sicher keine Seiko mehr kaufen. Vor allem die Monster ist weit überteuert weil man bestenfalls Seiko 5 Movements bekommt und auch das Armband einfach dem Preis nicht mehr gerecht wird. Egal ob 4R36 oder 7S26 Movements und alle datzwischen die gehören einfach ALLE mal überarbeitet. Vor allem die Schließe ist einfach eine Frechheit bei einem Preis von 500€ aufwärts bei ner Monster, aber auch bei vielen Prospex Uhren die 700 - 850 Euro kosten eine Frechheit darstellt. Auch werden die Leuchtmassen immer schlechter. Da bekommt man bei Orient die bessere Qualität zu einem viel günstigeren Preis. (Ja ich weiß das gehört auch zuSeiko)
