- The medical facilities onboard a cruise ship are pretty impressive! Priscilla woke up with a swollen face and pretty bad tooth pain. They gave her meds and she already set an appointment for the day after we get home with her dentist. Nothing is worse than being miserable from an ailment while on vacation. #fatheringautism #autismontheseas

When my kids were small and we got in hot tubs, we would play "stew" and we'd all pick which vegetable we were.

I can relate to that. Even if it didn't directly involve a tooth, I had a huge pimple over my jaw joint with pain that kept me from opening my mouth wide. That pain, despite how short the duration was, felt terrible from a large pimple over the TMJ. I think Tylenol barely put a dent in that pain, just making it a bit better.
Oh my lanta tooth abscess is no joke.. Poor Cilla of all times to get one is while on holiday, glad they had Dr's on board the ship

Going to medical on a cruise ship is super expensive. Need to pay for it before getting off ship. We take lots of types of over counter drugs and our doctor prescribes an antibiotic.
Oh Cilla! I feel your pain! I've been dealing with my teeth disintegrating, breaking and getting infected for about a year now! Three times I've woken up with the side of my face swollen! My medical insurance changed this year and I had to start over with their approved dentists, only one in our entire county. And the nearest surgeon, who I finally meet in September, is 400 miles away! I hope your meds get that pain taken care of right away!

I've been dealing with clenched jaw and bad tooth issues for quite awhile now. With no money and no insurance as an early retired senior, I just have to deal with it the best that I can.
Thanks to the helpful beauty of RUclips, I now use a hydrogen/peroxide mouth rinse to help me through the bad times. 🙂

If I was on a cruise ship, I would have to take my earmuffs with me and avoid the bars and restaurants unless they are quite. I would also spend a lot of time in the library.

The have on some cruise ships silent disco which is when you get a set of headphones so you control volume and music to dance too
That happened to me on a trip to wolf lodge in the middle of know where. I had to call my dr to send in a script for antibiotics and pain meds. My dentist was out with Covid at the same time. Kinda messed up my vacation
I had my abscess tooth removed last year

Pools are chlorinated and tested daily. You get in your pool at home. No different

My dad worked on Royal Caribbean for 20 years. Champagne is a go to for any guests that had an issue. If it's a big issue you might even score yourself some fancy snackies or tickets to shows on board. Im not even kidding some people fund their entire future cruise by making complaints and getting free things. That being said the crew do genuinely just try and make the guests experience as nice as possible.

My mom fell down , slipping on water on the floor by the 😂exit from outside. They were wonderful she had a broken finger, the y set it and put a brace on it , also gave her pain meds and called our room frequently after to check up on her. Another lady fell in the same spot and broke her shoulder just 5 minutes before my mom fell.

I wound up with what I thought was a toothache on the 3rd day of our cruise. We were on a Holland America Cruise and after enjoying a movie and a big bowl of popcorn, went to bed. When I got up in the morning, the whole right side of my face was swollen and achy. We assumed it was a bad tooth so I went to the ships Doctor. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are one of a few Cruise Lines that have a Dentist onboard. When he checked my tooth come to find out my tooth was fine, I had a popcorn hull wedged between my tooth and gum. He took care of it in a 1/2 hour and I was on my way! I never thought to see what medical amenities are offered on a Cruise, I just assumed they all had dentists. 🤷♀️

Tooth pain is the worse, and it always happens at worse time. Asa that’s how I feel, pools are giant toilets. I can’t stop thinking about that and only swim in friends pools

I commented on Facebook asking if the doctor could get her gabapentin for her tooth? I had swelling and intense pain after a botched and wisdom tooth removal. Gabapentin was the only thing that helped before they realized they had to go in and take out a piece of tooth that got left behind after the surgery.

I worked in drug insurance for many years and cruise ships (not all?) cannot use your normal drug/medical/dental plans, so when you get home you need to call your insurance and send them the receipts right away. Or if you bought trvel insurance for medical/drug, then you send them the receipts. But you all have been traveling on cruise ships for years so I assume you know what to do. Paper claims are the worst though, because they dont refund or reimburse much back to you because of the contracted rates insurances use to calculate. I would ask your insurance to calculate without the contracted rates, and see if they will allow it. My company did allow it if people asked (or if they knew about it).

$4606 it cost me being in Medical from 9am to 5pm one day (AFTER insurance 😭) . Insanity, and I had extra travel insurance Tooth issues are the worst

I hope Priscilla's tooth feels better. Kinda worse than a headache. Ouch. At times it limits how much you feel you can do? Unless you have medication to help you otherwise you do not like to do much, i know how it is. Nobody likes pain or a headache on the scale of a 6 out of 10?

ASA, what is that long yellow bus looking thing 5:11 I haven't Been on a cruise in 15 years, so not sure what that is, I've never seen one.
That’s one of the covered escape vessels/boats at a muster station. So if you must abandon ship, you report to your assigned station. That’s why the muster station drills at the beginning of a cruise are so important!
These escape boats are very high tech now with beacon locators, food & water & weather protection from the elements were you to be stuck at sea for awhile.
These are located all around different locations on the outside of the ship.
