@@jimmyb4982 to be fair, Hyundai is increasing the price by $2000 starting in August. People who left deposit and have been waiting are being asked to pay the increase or cancel the deal. There are over +700 orders from Australia alone and Hyundai simply can not meet the demand.. so they literally stopped taking orders. That’s right, you can’t even order a new one anymore. This car is a global hit and everybody wants one. This extremely high demand coupled with the shortage of material such as semi conductors have left Hyundai not being able to meet the demand on a global scale. Production is backed up so far people are having to wait up to 24 months now. Those who are waiting (up to 24 months) are still lucky because at least they get to buy the car eventually. And at 40k drive away, it’s still a bargain in this current climate. Can you blame the private sellers for wanting over 40k? Why would they sell it for any less than that when hundreds of people are having to wait for up-to 2 years for one? When you can’t order a new one anymore.. The price will only continue to go up. I honestly think at 40k drive away it’s still the best value performance car out there right now. I wouldn’t even consider selling mine for below 42k. That’s just the reality of the current market.
@@OfficialMINIm I'm not buying into the hype. Hyundai has come a long way in the last 15 years, and the car seems impressive in its segment, but it's just a car.
A little winner! Great that we've got solid choice in this segment too, given manufacturers hateful march towards "SUV all the things". Tough choice between this and the Fiesta ST, and if I were shopping right now, I'd probably take whatever I could get my hands on first as I have zero patience for wait times! Would be pretty happy either way I reckon!
20 month wait on new orders. I was quoted 6-12 in April when I put my deposit down but who knows when it's coming. 2 years to wait for a car is absolutely insane. Let's not even talk about the fact these things are selling at $40k.. I literally bought my I30N in 2018 for $38k.. With house prices, cost of living, car prices and fuel increasing the line gap between poverty and middle class is closing fast it seems.
9:50 You can btw. fully customize both buttons. There are a few options, what you want to do with those buttons. You could set the Drive Mode select on one of those on the wheel. Not only the N/N-Custom modes.
Absolutely brilliant video, the driving was so exciting to watch and really illustrates how extraordinary this car is! A future classic in my opinion 😎😎😎
Ahh the wonderful Claudia Davies from the FB owners group :-) So glad your pride and joy has arrived and you're chuffed with it champ :-) (Will G from the FB owners group)
In the italian Hyundai forum, we found that on the i20/i20N my21 the rattle is often caused by the iron bar that holds the rear seats. You can try folding the rear seats and shaking the bar at the junction points, to be sure if that's the case.
Hi, Dave the Taswegian drove my Car (I'm the brother). I've had a look at what Danilo suggested and you can indeed shake the bar that runs through the seats. I'm pretty sure that is the sound. I'll be taking it back and seeing about getting that being fixed to be sure.
I think it might be the tailgate tightness adjustment. There are two rubber bungs in the tailgate that screw in/out to adjust the clearance of the tailgate. Screw too far out and you have to slam the tailgate to close but no rattles on the road. Screw too far in and the tailgate closes easily but rattles on mildly bumpy roads. You are regularly adjusting as the setting won't stay put! This is my experience with a current model Kia Cerato hatch.
Fantastic review mate :-) I'm in Tassie and own an i20 N and can definitely confirm she loves the roads down here in the 'ass end of the world' :-P Keep up the great content guys, I'm a fan :-) Cheers......Will
i think interior wise they made a great choice not having a small front quarter window like a clio would have. makes it feel so much bigger. also good review mate
Thanks for the review. I'd really like a manual Kia Rio GT (1 litre turbo) but this is probably my closest option. Kia Picanto GT is too small, 5 speeds and doesn't have the convenience items of this car. Current drive is a MX-5 (ND 1.5L) which is supple, effervescent & fun but totally impractical. Cheers.
3:53.. check out the wear on that seat bolster at the bottom of the screen.. I've seen a LOT of stories on the N forums and Facebook page about excessive wear in that spot. Hyundai are denying all warranty claims too and putting it down to "wear and tear".. so be warned. You'll be reupholstering these seats whilst still in the warranty period most likely. Hyundai really need to sort their quality control out.. I want to love the N range but the skimping out really makes it hard. I test drove a Cerato GT and it felt like it was built like a tank in comparison.
ive only put 5000kms on mine but to me quality is more than acceptable. i mean it's pretty good for a sport supermini in my opinion. youre right about the cerato gt though, had an uber driver pick me up in that once and it was kinda nice

When i drive mine slowly when turning on full lock Mechanical lsd causes the front wheels to crab or shudder across. Also sometimes it stalls on start up. Are any others experiencing the same with there i20n?
i get that with full lock on cold days but everyone says its normal. no stall on start up here but sometimes when i turn the engine off the car registers another button press and turns back on straight away

I got i20N since 4 weeks from brand new and hit 1900km now and it’s amazing car and make you more fun of driving around and fast the corner

Pity it's got an old engine that drags the chassis down. It's about 17yrs old that 1600cc turbo thing, Hyundai get your act together.
