The first 30 seconds of the clip are like a wet dream. Thomas' facial expressions are simply brilliant and very expressive. The final scene is also heartbreaking. I like this slight deviation because of the dramatic climax.
I love the way the Phantom reacts to hearing Christine's singing at the beginning. Her Elissa gown is the best I've seen so far, so sparkly! And the Star Princess costume was great as well, I wish the West End ones would be like that again, rather than the plastic look it has now. Christine's hair is also probably the star of the show. I wish they would've spent less time on Masquerade and more on the Final Lair though
Colby is a very close friend of mine and was my voice teacher for years. I love her and she really is brilliant. I have had the honor of singing with her many times and I will always remember those wonderful times!
Could you imagine if they made the movie in the 90s like they originally planned but with Michael Crawford. He said in an old interview about doing the movie in those days but the opportunity never came. He sounded excited about it too
Enjoyed, enjoyed! To hear in my native tongue. Wish my father and Great grandmother could have been a part of this. Michael Crawford did a good job, but at the Royal Albert my daughter and I had a "floor seat" right up from the orchestra. To watch that chandelier rise, to feel the cold from the mist, and to feel like the eyebrows would singe with flames-no words to explain. We also caught the show in St. Louis, Mo, U.S. where we reside, and they to did a great job. Would see again in a
The idea that she never sees his face until the very end is an interesting concept. I am always kind of bummed whenever I see the show that she isn't terrified when she unmasks him. Growing up listening to the cassette I always thought the terrified scream was hers at the sight of his face, not Meg screaming over finding Piangi.
I know I'm posting this five years after your post lol, but just to add my two cents. When I first saw the show when I was 12, I didn't even understand she had seen his face during the first act...the way our actor did it, I mean, he just immediately covered his face so I assumed she didn't see it either. And he was just flipping out because he was mad. So when she takes it off in PONR, I thought that was the first time for her, too. But you're right, she doesn't really react does she? Haha. It wasn't until my sister and I saw the "libretto" that we realized oooh she DID see his face then that first time, k
Great stuff. I did Colby's head shots recently. Just an LOL for me, it may be the recording, and my ignorance of German, but when they do Masquerade, it sounds like "basketball". But great stuff.
I love this. For no other reason, than because we finally get a REAL Masquerade scene. I think that was one of my biggest disappointments in the movie.
Good eye. I am sure it was. The most telltale sign was that the bodice was one piece rather the usual peplum extension used to turn the slave girl costume into an Alyssa dress.
Actually, at that point in the show, she only removes his hood. It's not until after he sings another reprise of All I Ask of You that she takes off his mask and hair piece. They just cut that part out completely in this video.
@@beneddiected Right, it is pretty much an original direction of the promos. But still kind of weird that they used Sylvan Glade instead of the Degas ballet costumes.

Her Elissa dress is actually Carlotta's
Imagine how awesome it would be if the filmed the movie like this!!!!
Oh yes. absolutely.
Colby is a very close friend of mine and was my voice teacher for years. I love her and she really is brilliant. I have had the honor of singing with her many times and I will always remember those wonderful times!
the best Christine's wig, it looks so natural
You being sarcastic?
The best Christine wig ever!
It would be amazing if there was a full show released... Thanks for uploading :)
best Promotion ever :)
I love that transition into "Wandering Child" and that PONR is mainly orchestral... It makes it that much more sensual! 💖
wow, brilliant. If only the movie were filmed like this!!
This was the best thing ever!!! Especially the end omg!!!
Carla Belman I have to agree.
The only legit Phantom movie in my eyes (and it's a footage from the STAGE version hahaha but still much better than what Schumacher has made)
I agree. Far too many changes were made for the movie and most of them for the worse.
I hope they do a filming of the Broadway or London production and release it to DVD, I am not a fan of either the movie or the 25th

I wish the movie adaptation of the musical was something like that, amazing❤❤❤ Also Cristine is so beautiful, and her expression in the end ❤❤❤ 14:15
They literally gave out pretty much the whole show's plot through these videos. XD
Not the deformitiy, at the very least
The Masquerade scene looks amazing......
Great! Amazing! It`s truly wonderful, great production!!
Damn, I love this Phantom!!!
btw- the Masquerade Scene was filmed in the Foyer of the Hamburg townhall
i cant imagine how to sing like this in a corset
Its not easy in the least bit
It’s not easy but you learn and it gets easier in days to weeks

Ah, wonderfull! By the way, the masquerade scene were filmed in the entrance hall of Hamburg's town hall. Not bad.

AMAZING! OUTSTANDING! I wish the film had been done like this!
Gah, I almost screamed at 1:50
Man, I wish more productions would make this kind of promo...
Woah it does sound like "basketball" at Masquerade. It cracked me up. xD

so the Phantom of the opera is so Magic and lovely

Longest promotion ever... but so worth it.
He can sing "Wandering Child" to me ANYTIME.
Oh yes. the way Erik reacts to hearing Christine sing.
I wish there was more of Thomas' Phantom..
I'd love to see the full version.
I am very fond of the Hamburg production. The sets were enormous and amazing and the costumes were lovely.
I love this. For no other reason, than because we finally get a REAL Masquerade scene. I think that was one of my biggest disappointments in the movie.
Wow! The Germans certainly went out of their way to produce promotional material for the show! If only they'd do the same in London!
The ending was awesome!
Best thing ever? Yes!
Does anyone else think this Roul is really handsome?
This was awesome! For the first time, my gut tightened with this extreme thrill during the final lair scene.
well that was different but looks really good, I like the Phantom in this.
Was Christine wearing a Carlotta costume during the "Think of Me" segment?
Good eye. I am sure it was. The most telltale sign was that the bodice was one piece rather the usual peplum extension used to turn the slave girl costume into an Alyssa dress.
Loving all the beep boop sounds in my right ear 😭
In the newer version she also takes off the mask when the phantom appears in the scene with the dinner table and the part when they found the guy dead
you know whats cool i saw the show and the 25th so much it didn't matter that it was i another language because i knew the words to it
aahh... Gänsehaut bei Colbys Stimme!
This is so cool!
Lol it sounds like they're singing "basketball" during the Masquerade scene
Браво! Брависсимо!
Eu amo esse Musical em Alemao.Maravihoso .Parabéns Hamburg.

Amazing :D
Is it just me or does one of the costumes in the Masquerade scene look like an escapee from CATS?
I wonder why is everybody writing in English because the video is in German xD
Beautiful oprea love it
@operafantomet Hey!, do you think it would be possible to see the toronto one if you have it?
i like this.
I cannot hear any sound except for 'Maskenball', is it just my PC or does everyone else have the same prob?
HOW THE HECK DO U GET SOUND TO THE REST OF THIS VEDIO ITS AMASING >>>>>>
I love her voice so very much
i saw the dvd but i wish i saw it live.
how do u get sound to all the video ?
2004
omg Thomas has big hands compared to Colby then again she is quite petite
Why are there sylvan glade ballerinas in Don Juan Triumphant?
It’s probably just for this clip
@@beneddiected Right, it is pretty much an original direction of the promos. But still kind of weird that they used Sylvan Glade instead of the Degas ballet costumes.
I agree I am not a fan of the movie it was way too "boring" for phantom
her eyes at 4:14 XD
German opera is so...guttural.
