I’ve been waiting for a horror movie like this for a while. One that gives me that feeling even when I know the jumps are is coming, it’s so much fun.
Just saw it, and I personally found it incredible. I don't remember ever being so scared of a movie in my life

I went last night for fan early access. The thing at the end was so awesome I will definitely remember that for a while. There were a few people in the shadows that creeped me out and I thoroughly enjoyed that. Overall, I did feel it dragging on towards the end but I had a good time.

i rlly liked this film but one of the only downsides to it is that they put way too much of the good parts in the trailer, everytime something happened i told my brother i saw this from the trailer so maybe 2 new scenes to me but overall great movie

The fact that of all the horror movies Ive seen in the last 5 years, this one had me uncontrollably shaking and shivering the whole way home makes it worth the watch, god 2022 is a whole W for horror films
I havent gotten anxious from watching something horror since the indie game since fnaf 1 first came out, the movie also reminds me alot of the indie horror game hatch which gave me a real good spook love this film
I was sweaty almost the entire time… like my hands and feet felt moist with anxiety
I've never been scared and jumped so much to a movie like I did to this one. I wish I would've seen this in theaters

Saw it last night, and for the most part, I agree with you definitely a surprise a good horror movie.
Despite a writer friend of mine liking it at a screening, and your cool critique. Not gonna lie was expecting TRUTH OR DARE mixed with IT FOLLOWS. Where the former sucked, not the latter. I liked it enough even without any over the top shenanigans you'd expect. U rock #3cfilm 🙏🏽👊🏼

Saw it yesterday. It reminded me of It Follows and Truth or Dare.
Wasn’t as good as It Follows but way better than Truth or Dare. Chris pretty much nailed it. Decent little horror
is there inappropriate content? and is there language?
@@essviot1165 with it being a horror film u can definitely expect many jumpscares and there is a bit of disturbing imagery to look at especially at the end, focuses alot on trauma and mental health, also a bit of swearing in terms of "language". So in terms of viewing, definitely don't show to children.

When I saw the trailer in the cinema with my friend. We were laughing because of the smiley faces and looked a bit silly. But with some people saying it's actually good that's surprising to me.
I just saw the movie at a private screening. And I gotta say the cinematography was pretty great 👍
Hopefully this movie is better than barbarian because that was a very great film. Barbarian was creepy, scary, and thrilling so I want this to be good and maybe my favorite horror movie.
Not even close to being as good as barbarian which I loved as well! smile to me was just decent not good or bad .
Just saw it in theaters...put it this way...I just liked and subscribed because you saw and expressed EXACTLY what I said, felt and saw.

Maaan I feel like we had the same exact thinking going in...but what a joy seeing this movie. I haven't enjoyed this level of stress since the conjuring. The horror tropes of screaming in the face, and running kn the dark leading to nothing always give me chills. The music. On par with Sinister. The off putting sounds and jaring noises
Took some of the best concepts from modern day horror/thrillers movies and perfectly blended them into a general all around movie for everyone.
I’m a fan of the movie “It Follows” so I hope this one is as good.
The Halloween movies aren’t really hitting on this horror season but ima definitely watch this too see what you mean chris

Just saw yesterday and loved it. Every time you showed that clip of her sister at the car window in this review I had to look away incase you showed what came next! Haha
I felt the concept was way too similar to other films like The Ring or Truth or Dare (that film gets too much hate I actually really enjoyed it) didn't try to be different and the ending was a letdown but there were effective scares and solid performances. I give it a C (3/5).
Please bring back the cringtros for future videos Chris, those were always the best way to start your reviews and sideflicks

When I saw the trailer I thought the movie was going to suck so I haven’t seen it.But knowing that it’s pretty good I might give it a chance.

I just got back from smile and I really liked it, I agree it dragged some points but most of the time my heart was in my throat and was pounding and was genuinely scary and loved that
I didn't think the message was about mental health per se as much as it was about the moral dilemma of "If your friend/lover is going through an intense personal crisis thats consuming the both of you, then when should you help them and whe do you distance yourself from them?"
And if you distance from them, you're condemning them...
For me the message was more about helping people with traumas before it's too late.
In the case of the main character's mother, it was too late a time ago before she killed herself. Since she called her monster, I'm assuming that the mother was abusive towards her kids. That was already too late, at least in my opinion.
Man, I want a sequel. With Joel as the main character, at least at the first half. They can do a sequel that follows this story some hours later perfectly.

Chucky TV series is kinda trash. Of all the situations they could have thrown him into we get Chucky and unlikable middle schoolers? What a waste. It's not scary and it's not funny and there's barely any Chucky. I could have come up with a better show.

Reminds me of "It Follows" and that was a great horror movie. Simple concept executed very well. So count me in.

That’s what I thought too. I really dislike endings like that where the hero does all the right things just to end up being monster food because the writer wanted a twist

This movie was great, and the jump scares where so well done ive seen alot if people that mention them but dont go into detail about how theyre done right. And there is more than just jump scares dont let that discourage u from going to go see it

holy shit your opening was golden, hahahhaha , I str8 up thought you were applying a face filter stretch effect then realized it was all you.
I really like how not even one time they called a pastor or a nun or some spiritual bullsh*t it's just a movie about a woman having to battle with her trauma and a little bit of a demonic story line, it's really nice to see some difrence in horror movies now.

The movie was a 1/10. Any real person can smile and be menacing

I just want to say before watching this that i was literally refreshing your channel in hope that you would upload this because i wanted to know before going to see it on theaters lol, i saw Orphan First Kill and Barbarian because of your reviews and i LOVE them, had so much fun, so i want more lol
Woah I found a lot of jokes in this. The nurse saying she’s single, you broke another glass? A train was neat but totally forgotten about in the third act. Or it did some Pennywise like scenes.
Just got back from seeing it and found the pacing really rough to the point I checked my phone to see the time twice and I'm not usually the type. The 3rd act reveal started off questionable but when that last encounter happened it was awesome. Just a shame a few cute effects & moments didn't make up for a lacklustre horror for me personally.
The ending literally ruins the film. It was pointless. They tell you the whole film she’s going to die and then she dies
it had 3 or 4 scenes that were most of scary most disurbing ever...opening..birthday party,,what the demon says to her,..i found your foughts so inviting..makes it one of the most scary movies i have ever saw...truly..for instance the birthday part scene has even 3 reveals..the dead cat..the girl smiling ..and she is sudden stands before...one example of best horror movie making ever...it even argues on halucinatians or is it an actual demon? They could have made a movie about the girl making it all up...that would be interesting...but...the whole idea of the demon and all was so well told...this man it scared me
This review is pretty spot on. I would compare this movie to "IT FOLLOWS" the concept on the movie is basically the same only without the sex.

I expected it to be a Truth or Dare knock off, and I was pleasantly surprised. Probably my favourite movie of the year (though I might be forgetting some movies that released this year). 9/10 this was great.

I thought it was average at best.. it really didn't bring anything new to the table. Some of the comedy jokes weren't funny...the ending was something we thought was gonna happen and when if did. It felt cheap and nothing grand..I'd recommend waiting to stream it.

Just watched smile and it wasn't even scary
My only issue was the timeline. All the events happened supposedly in the space of 4 days. However, it felt like it all took place over a longer period

I finally saw this cuz of it coming to paramount plus. And it really exceeded my expectations. From the trailers it seems like a run of the mill horror movie with a cheesy smile like truth or dare. It definitely isn’t a masterpiece or an original story but it does well for what it has. Idk why but the ending gave me so much anxiety. Hope this director makes more movies because you can tell they have promising career ahead!
This movie is a mix of The Ring and It Follows,but still stands out to me as it’s own unique horror movie. At first I thought this movie would just be jumpscares with no pay off,but the way the movie uses jumpscares to start suspense or set the tone for a scene really surprised me.I would put this movie in the top 6 horror movies of this year so far.Overall, I left this movie with a 😀

Seems a lot of people like this a bit more than me which is surprising . I just found the film very decent .. in the way you will forget about it in the next couple months . It’s not bad but it’s not great either . The end visuals are the best part but just doesn’t compare to barbarian which I saw the week prior .

I will check this movie out. 2022 has been such a great year for horror movies with Scream 5, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022, X, the Black Phone, Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, Barbarian, Pearl, Smile , Halloween Ends etc. This was another good review.

Was it the monster's true form? For me I've never seen such a horrifying design in a horror movie.

@@Ryan-el5cq yeah, that was straight nightmare fuel. One of those rare instances with me where whatever I imagined the monster to look like once revealed, it was actually worse than I could've thought.
