To be fair, all Su-Han did was complain about how bad Ladybug and Catnoir were. He kept yelling and saying they had no experience, so why the heck didn’t he train them?
It's not on him Ladybug literally got offended when he showed up to claim the box because she couldn't stand idea of not being suitable protector of it. He had reasons to assume she was trained when she was picked by Fu himself and then she threw a tantrum, he trusted her and she failed him because she's actually not this responsible as she claimed to be. He had actual reasons to be angry his trust was broken and some criminal took all miraculouses that are capable of even ending the world, Ladybug and Cat Nior should have shown some remorse instead of trying to gaslight him.
@@papkinn I mean, he *did* behave like an A** in his first Episode, but I can kinda understand that. Fu left a lovestruck Teenager in charge of what is basically a Box full of magical Superweapons. Imagine what would happen if they get lost! Imagine what would happen if the Kwami go exploring Paris without an Owner! I would be worried too.
@@johannesseyfried7933 Correct. But after he came to know, that Fu didn't had train them, shouldn't he said something like "Alright. I will do, what Fu should have done. I will train you and Cat Noir." And if i remember correctly, wasn't his whole purpouse to hunt down renegade Miraculous user? In that case, Gabriel should definitly be in his area of responsibility to seek him and bring him down. I found the way, they wrote him out of the show a little bit lame.
@@Anthyrion Yes, definitely. Don't introduce a more seasoned and powerful Fighter into your Story, that could help out your Heroes, and then don't have him do exactly that! Or....at least give us a reason for why they can't! With Bunnyx, it makes Sense. She's from the Future! She presumably has Bad Guys in her own Time that she needs to catch. Not to mention that her helping them might lead to a Time Paradox. So, I can understand why *She* cannot help them, unless it's time related stuff. But the Guardians? Even if they can't come all (the other Boxes still need protection after all) they could at least send People other than Su Hu. If he taught either of them how to repel Akumas, Marinette wouldn't have to worry about Cat Blanc- not that she really ever has all that much. But, I mean....surely it can be useful, right? There's no Indication that Hawk Moth's weird Mega Akuma could overpower a trained Guardian, considering that they don't have a magical Shield but simply calm themselves. The Akumas can't infect somebody if there are no strong Emotions.
It's possible that the kisses were probably the way of greeting in France. Marinette and Chloe did this in early season 2 I think. It's more likely an attempt to positively greet her, imo
It is but Adrien also hasn't ever greeted people with cheek kisses. People have done it to him, including his aunt, but he never really returns them or even initiates them, if that makes sense.
@@tiktokaesthetics Oooh ok, thanks! I couldn't shake the feeling that I was forgetting a scene. Either way, he usually doesn't do it, so it's still meaningful that he's trying to do the cheek kiss greeting with Marinette specifically as Adrien.
The fact that there was no smooth brain plot armor was a huge shock for me. If the wax statue scene and Adrien's attempt to kiss Mari were not there, this might've been one of the great episode
Adrien going to kiss Marinette on the cheek (aka bizu bizu) is not necessarily him flirting or being a creep. A kiss on each cheek is a common way to greet someone you are close with in France. Marinette pulling away is frustrating because even though they are close, her pulling away from him is more like her saying we're not that good of friends. Yes he's friends with Nino and alya but he's not as close to alya and it's not as common to greet other males in that way.
realistically, he should do the bisou to Alya too though. From my experience in French high schools, you give everyone you've spoken to a bisou, it can be really uncomfortable at times or at least it was for me. I'm glad he only tried to do that to marinette though cause I think it'd be confusing for non-french watchers. On the other hand, without this knowledge, it seems like he wants to full on kiss her on the lips
Multiplication was a good episode that follows up from Evolution and with Natalie no longer being the support for Gabriel, who better than Kagami's mom to not only know and support with her tech, but to fundamentally change the game as with the Alliance rings now, Monarch has the CITY as his Miraculous army and they all can use whatever powers he had WITHOUT having the Miraculous on them and Ladybug and Cat Noir can't recover them since Monarch will still have all of them on him at ALL TIMES!!!! Also, the reverse Adrinette is OK and it won't truly last all that long until it reverts back to what it was as we all got uncomfortably used to and I will still miss Alix in the show since she's literally time-hopping to keep Fluff and the Rabbit Miraculous safe
the rings are a good idea, if the heroes were to recover the miraculous because they defeated each villian who carries one then they'll need a new story soon.
But it'll become a Problem if they can't stop him from using the Powers again Constantly. They need some way to get back each Kwami Slowly and Over time otherwise there will not be any feasible way to stop Hawk Moth.
@@wilsonweiseng6485 I also don't think the Miraculous was transferred to the ring but the ring that Tomoe had was one of the Rings Monarch had on his hand and is mass producing them so no one suspects anyone wearing a new ring that might have magical powers and they might not even know that they have a Miraculous as Monarch could Activate it remotely/tell them about it when they are akumatized. This way they have plausible deniability and He doesn't need to share his secret identity with anyone else.
I just wish they gave her a better reason to be a villain than just being in love with gabe like what if natalie was a sentimonster made from Emilie's love for gabe and adrien and she was made to take care of them so that why she feels the need to help gabe bring emilie back
i mean, i kinda question her intellegence for falling In love with Gabrishit. (i'm sorry i just hate gabriel with purning passion, hes SO. MUCH worse than lila)
I agree with you,if Felix is in contact with Monarch then this narrows the possibility of who Monarch is by quite a lot. From what I can tell, Monarch has to be a man who knows Felix somewhat personally and lives in Paris most likely.
I really like this episode. I enjoyed it more than Evolution. While Evolution had fun time travel shenanigans this episode had a lot of more set up to stuff later the down the road. I've also seen theories of a possible redemption arc for Nathalie and after that scene with Adrien I can see it. She did basically quit villianly and is trying to make up for what she helped Gabe do
In Adrien's defense, the only experience he's had with romantic relationships is Kagami who always took the direct approach, so there's no reason why Adrien wouldn't think that that is how romantic relationships work.
The ring situation is interesting seeing as I thought Gabe was going to go smooth brain and make singular rings for particular villains, but the idea of the rings being. Product anyone has is pretty genius give them the power without the risk. My question rn is kagamis mom involment a recent thing or has she been apart of this since the beginning? Also I feel like there could be more to Felix's dad than initially expected, an the only reason I say that is bc he should Def have a Pic on his page and the fact he doesn't gives me the impression that he'll play some bigger part in Felix's story this season.
Totally agree, Gabe is finally dusting off the old noggin. But I also think this will lead to ladybug and cat noir making the conclusion that Gabe is monarch/hawk moth because why else would a citizen create technology capable of transferring the kwamis powers?
@@jackaboyx3 It'll probably be one of the last episodes where Ladybug finds out the connection between the rings and the transfer of Miraculous powers. And then from there onwards deducting that Hawk Moth is Gabriel. It's a bit of a big plothole when you think about it.
The partnership between Gabriel and Kagami’s mother has been a thing for a while now. Remember in the episode where Jeremy Zagg self inserted himself into an episode for the first time, I believe that was the beginning of their partnership outside of just business partners but also as a potential supervillain partnership.
Ikari gozen actually became smaller if you rewatch the scene and look closely she becomes slightly smaller. She didn’t make enough copies to the point where her size wasn’t useful anymore. Also I think the Adrien trying to kiss Mari also just showcasts the French culture I guess. It’s not all too weird to be kissing each other on the cheek like Chloe and Mari did in despair bear or even when Mari kissed adrien on the cheek during the birthday episode. It is a bit weird he keeps trying but that’s something close friends would do in France I guess idk
Yeah but the implications are different because: Opposite sex Marinette and Adrien have known each other a while and he just started doing this as a way of greeting, instead of on a special occasion like a party it's Adrien. He doesn't do this for anyone bc he doesn't know how to people 😭 But yeah it still wouldn't be too weird if he started doing it to Marinette, but ONLY to Marinette? Yeah. Especially when he's bound to realize she likes him...eventually.
Still.. See, imagine that you don't like me as your close friend to put my hand over your shoulder. You're obviously giving me a hint that you don't want me to do that, but I keep trying.. Pushy right?
I actually loved this episode, the set up for the rest of the season was great and the fact they didn’t actually get a miraculous back like we all assumed they would pet episodes was actually a nice switch up. One thing that bugs me however: if secret identities is such a big part of this show how come Alix doesn’t have to stick with that rule? Like I get you can argue that Monarch has seen her grown up version so he knows who has the miraculous but why then spread that information to the class and general public?? Idk after four seasons of “it’s too dangerous to know each other’s identities” It just felt out of place
I guess they wanted people to know that Alix was Okay. Since she would have suddenly Disappeared. They could have Lied. But then people would wonder why she is Calling, etc. Just telling them the truth just gives a lot less headaches.
To everyone who says “Oh kissing is just a way to greet each other in France, there’s nothing romantic about it”, Marinette still backs away, showing that she doesn’t want it. So while Adrien might not have those intentions, I say he’s still in the wrong since he keeps trying.
Alya is even more wrong than Adrien because before the villain showed up she trapped Marinette in place to experience an awkward situation for Marianette, something that Marinette has told Alya point blank that she (Marinette) rightfully shouldn’t focus a relationship with Adrien anyway.
@@IsmaelCiulla There is a difference between forcing an awkward situation, and trying to make your friend stop screwing themselves over. Alya isn't stupid, she knows the only reason Marienette is backing away is out of gulit, not because she doesn't Adrien to kiss her.
His existence is pointless now. The worst case scenerio happened and he basically relented because modern day France is distracting which isn't an excuse to make up for LB's failure. She fought for being in charge and she was given the reigns with the condition being if she screwed up she has to stop being Guardian.
And I blame Thomas for this. Realistically speaking, Suhan is written like a stereotypical Asian elder. 99.9% of the time they won’t even admit that they’re wrong, let alone apologizing for something that they’re right about. So this really looks like OOC to me.
Gabriel in this episode was like “ You know what I was a little impatient last time and because of that i lost the most powerful Miraculous. I’m going to take some weeks off and really think about my next Plan. Try to be a Better Villain and a Better Father. And you know what I can’t do this Alone I should try to get some Allies. Starting this Day Forward I’m going to be a Newer Gabriel A BETTER GABRIEL.
I just hope that Aliya still gets some screen time this season. I loved here occasionally being around to help ladybug and even having 2 eps where she was basically the main hero.
I hope they find the good balance with her. Last season they forcibly downplayed cat noir to make room for Alya to shine as Rena rogue. Now that she doesn't have her miraculous, I think we'll get a better balance of Alya being amazing while Cat Noir is still useful (Alya primarily helps Marinette, Cat Noir primarily helps Ladybug)
@@fantasan8540 to add on, Ladybug is trying to redeem herself from last season and treating CN like an actual partner, in which Alya was indirectly the whole catalyst for that mess, so I think Alya will have more evenly paced screen time.
Shout out to gabe for not doing the stupid thing we all thought he was gonna do, I'm actually shocked he isn't pulling a ladybug and giving everyone a miraculous
8:18 I never noticed while watching the episode until In this video IN THIS SCENE !!!???!!??!?!!! Seriously NO ONE ELSE noticed that SWOLLEN BELLY OF MS BUSTIER SHES PREGNANT WTF ..., where the heck does the New York special FIT in the mlb timeline?!???!!!!
They should definitely be using Su Han better IMO. The dude has only played a role in two episodes and stood still in the final scene of a third. Now he suddenly shows regret for his acting (despite hardly ever acting at all in the show) and... he's gone. At this point it feels like he was made just for the Furious Fu episode and then had to be forcibly included so we wouldn't wonder why he wasn't there. And the dude can't even grow a spine to save his life. But for once team villain is way less pathetic than the hero team! The Alliance commercial is brilliant, though it would have been a bit better if they used another brand as a 'proxy' between them as villains and them as civilians doing business. Sooner or later the heroes will realize that some people have Miraculous powers and others don't, and it doesn't have to take long to realize the difference between the groups. If the secret gets discovered then there are only two potential candidates for Monarch, and Tsurugi arrived in Paris after Hawk Moth already started akumatizing people. The plan will be great short to medium long term, but might backfire in the long term
I guess they could pretend that Monarch threatened to harm Kagami or Adrien if they didn't build a Backdoor into the Rings for him......but how long is that explanation really going to fool our Protagonists?
Su Han's really played no role so far. He comes up with sensible requests, but by the end of the episode he's told to shut up, that keeping the status quo is better than any change he's asking for, and he humiliates himself and apologizes.
I really liked this episode. I liked how it continued off of the season 4 finale/Evolution, but still continuing to bring the story forward. I was a massive fan of the pacing. It feels nice to be able to take a breather from having a of a waste-of-time B plot and just see how the characters are feeling about everything that's changed. Can't wait to see where they go with these plots they're setting up, I just hope they don't screw it up.
I liked this episode for the same reasons you mentioned: Setting up the mystery on the villans side. However, I feel like I was missing some development for Ladybug and Cat Noir. I feel like they gave up too easily on Felix and should've used those weeks of Gabe not attacking to do more then just patrolling, playing cards or waiting for Su Han. Even if Felix leads to a dead end, they can still make a plan on how to fight Monarch with the miraculous powers they all know, they can still train together, ... I feel like nothing changed in their fight against Ikari Gozen: No strategies once they figure out she is using Multitude, no new power ups (we still have 4 unknown potions, now would be the perfect time to introduce them since there is no team), nothing changed. It's just another Lucky Charm/Cataclysm combo. I do like the twist that they didn't get the Mouse miraculous back. It adds mystery to the plot, instead of Gabe losing each miraculous one by one. Obviously, the power is somehow in the ring, the intro spoiles that for you
I LOVED IT! IT WAS AMAZING!!! (9.5/10) Everybody in this damn show is lying tho (Amelie, Kagami's mom, Gabriel, Lila...), and I love it!🤣 It was nice to see Cosmobug and Astrocat back! Really smart of them to immediatly search for Felix! I liked that they didn't get the mouse miraculous back! It would have been too easy, in my opinion! The end-credit scene gave me chills!!!😳 I also enjoyed a lot seeing LB and CN enjoying their "freetime" together!🤣 I'm glad Su-Han appeared and that they mentioned the reason why Alix won't go to school again for the next few weeks/months! The pregnancy from Ms. Bustier surprised me a lot, in a positive way!👍🏼I actually thought they forgot about that from the New York special. We have a new trio of villains: Gabriel Tsurugi Lila Nathalie and Felix are playing seperate games?!🤔🤔 I really have high hopes for the rest of S5! I'm excited for what comes next!! The only thing i didn't love as much was the akuma battle! It was good, but I thought it was a bit too chaotic (I think it has to do with the animation) and I really didn't like the voice performance from Ikari Gozen's voice actress.😕But I think i will like it more in english and german! The rest was amazing tho! Gabriel with white hair?!😅Okay, that was really unexpected! Every villain was in this one: Gabriel Tsurugi Lila Felix (Nathalie) Amelie Uhhhhhhhh😏
I would like to say some things: 1) This season is starting to become really interesting and I can't wait for more episodes but this episode in particular seems like it did too little yet too much. I laughed when I saw they had time for a time skip and legitimatly paused the episode to laugh. But things seemed rushed still... I can't properly explain it... Also like is Kagami's mom just okay with world domination now? 2) Literally what was that interaction with Su-Han (hope I spelled it right)?! They have a chance to gain an alley! He seems to know a lot about miraculous and be legitimatly helpful. Yet they make him dumb and literally bow down to the heroes and then go off to somewhere? Not sure if he will ever return on time. Will no one teach these kids how they can postpone their transformations for longer than 5 minutes?! God that super ancient guy that knows a lot about miraculous could maybe answer you on why the mouse miraculous was not on the akumatized person or if that was even possible. You could know Kagami's mom was faking it! 3) Full White Gabriel Agreste is nightmare fuel. In a good way? And finally 4) by saying this I am not saying that Adrien is right in doing this behavior. However you must consider that he barely interacted with people and this is likely his first (asides from ladybug) time he has to deal with these feelings and probably doesn't know how to express them. And secondly I think you need to understand that in Europe it is normal to kiss people on the cheeks when they greet. Yes it depends a lot on the country, in which situations do you use it, but it is normal and you do this with everyone. Adults, kids, teens, etc. In fact in Chloe's party Marinette and Chloe kiss, because it is a social normal and would be seen as rude for everyone even if they hate each other. However, yes it is a little awkward to kiss guys that are your age, especially if you have a crush on them. We don't just go around pretending like it's just like any other kiss. But I am just trying to reeinforce that you should take Adrien accountable for repeatidly trying to kiss her as she wasn't confortable and not for doing it the first time. Meeting your friends and giving them a kiss, two or more even when you meet, depending on the country (usually on more formal settings at least in my country), means you care for them. And it's normal to do it!
I am disappointed that Alix's dad told the class she was Bunnix as appose to come up with some cover story. He apparently had time to think of one. Most of the class are or were superheroes, but Lila was there as well. I was also disappointed that they gave up on looking for Felix so quickly. It seems like the writers couldn't figure out a way around that. I would take it as Felix is hiding from them, since he betrayed them and his house is the first place they would look. It was also possible he hadn't made it back to England yet, the pair flying off as soon as they had a minute to think about it while Felix has to take the train, a train that Ladybug took him off when she gave him the miraculous. He would have to wait for the next one.
9:35 I do think it was more the French Greeting kiss there But the point being possibly made is that he has, almost, never done this to marinette specifically (there might be a scene but it was a background moment?) And looking at the other comments, I do agree that he's "testing the waters" with his feelings, does the greeting kiss feel natural and right in this situation? Does she reciprocate? Is he still a sheltered guy with some limited social skills? _All these questions and more lol_ But on that note, I'm now more increasingly hyped with this now, certified, B-plot and hope they do some interesting stuff with it
I like this episode. Interesting that they decided to change it up and make the Akuma Battle not be the focus, like seriously... we only have 5 minutes of Ikari Gozens and it all happened near the end of the episode. I like how it is focused on the regular life stuff and the romance. I like the continuity and the set up for future episodes for this season especially with the villains. I even find it funny that Adrien is now decided to become creepy to Marinette with attempts to kiss on the cheek. Marinette is already finding it Felix level creepy. 😅 But yeah, I like Adrien's reaction when his father pretty much say "yeah. Ok. Whatever." When Adrien said he doesn't want to be a model. And guess what Gabriel did, kept Adrien's modelling life eternal with technology and let his real life do whatever he likes. Gabriel looks like Bill Gates, but white when he announces the ring named the "Alliance" or the "Alias". I don't know how Adrien would feel about this, but OK. At least Gabriel kept his promise. To be honest, without Mrs. Tsurugi and her brand + tech, Gabriel would probably said no. Yeah. 9/10 for this episode being Multiplication. They haven't retrieved the Mouse in this episode, good. Would be boring doing it that way, but is a bit of a question how Ikari Gozen got that power. And my guess, the rings is Monarch's way of communicating and delivering. Remember, he will try and get to everyone, so yeah using tech is a smart way to connect and trap people.
I don't know a lot about french culture but It is normal in french culture to kiss people on the cheeks as a greeting. You even do it with your co-workers at work. However, I do think when it happen the first time and made her uncomfortable. They should you know talk about it. It could have made for a good conversation about their friendship. It could be a good conversation about Marinette being happy with their friendship but it is a little much for him to do that. Then they could make a later episode when she cools with it and greets him instead. However, this show is not good with building healthy boundaries.
The Su-Han thing is so fucking funny. I guess the writers thought that not having Su-Han confront Ladybug about this would spark viewers to point out his absence, so they threw in a scene that accomplished nothing. It's basically to ward off people from complaining that they forgot about him. Which, honestly, I wish they would
4:24 - OMG exactly! Lots of people have been praising the subsequent sequence, that montage in which they're doing NOTHING, playing chess on the top of a building... which doesn't make any sense, they shouldn't be able to think of anything else but retrieving the miraculous!
I have five big things to say about this: 1) The love square needs to die yesterday, it creates fake drama and it drags. Glad it's finally seeming to fade out. 2) Adrien needs a hug and some much deserved breaks. Hope he and Marinette finally get together this season and we can FINALLY have a show with a couple that doesn't immediately end and we can see the ups and downs of a relationship. Too many shows ended with hooking up. 3) Gabe's totally the Miraculous Mandarin. Rings of power? Duh! 4) Super or not, the supporting cast shines brightly as ever. 5) HOW THE HELL IS CHLOE STILL IN SCHOOL AND NOT IN JAIL!? SHE LITERALLY ENSLAVED THE CITY AND BETRAYED LADYBUG! (God, I hate her so much. You wanna see a scenario of her getting sweet karma? Read Chloe's Lament on AO3.)
I think that because he truly sees her as a friend compare to everyone else. Though They should show that more by having a dedicated episode for them only. Men greeting each other that way is uncommon from my understanding.
10:30 the reason they only need to beat one is because of how the mouse miraculous power works as seen in Kwamibuster when Multimouse shrinks with all the other miraculous there is only one copy so when Ikari Gozen does the same thing there is only one Akuma. Though I don't know why that rule exists when in Mega Leech the sentimoster can multiply the Akuma as well. Once again showing the Peacock is OP
I definitely prefer this review where you put pictures from the actual episode rather than random clips from previous episodes (I'm guessing for copyright you can't show clips of the actual episode)
Normally I'm with you on most points, but not Su Han this time. Him showing up to bust their balls, especially now is unneeded and out of line. Marinette is literally doing the best she can and is the only reason Su Han is even around to snipe at her, having been trained by a master who likely didn't even complete his own training (Fu was still a child when the temple went under due to their own foolish training methods). Instead of harping on how inadequate she supposedly is, his job was to assess her current situation and offer up supplementary training where she was lacking...y'know, like an actual mentor would do. While I can 100% relate to wasting time on cat vids and modern comforts, he has 1000% been slacking on his duties and honestly should be lending a hand to track down Gabe, whoop his ass and recover the Kwami. But hopping his ass back to Tibet for backup is a good start.
I did indeed have a mental breakdown over Marinette not being just a friend anymore. Full on, sobbing like a baby, rolling all over the floor while hugging a pillow and screaming into it. FOUR SEASONS OF THIS NONSENSE AND I FINALLY GET SOME FRICKING CLOSURE 😭💖
Felix is probably older than Adrian since he went to an English school he probably Left at 15 or 16 what you can do at English schools if you were born between August and around the end of July
In the scene where Su Han confronts the hero’s. Cat Noir tells Su Han that they already got the rabbit miraculous back and entrusted it someone and Ladybug follows up by say there gunna do the same for all the others. Since Ladybug & Cat Noir always win and season 5 has been confirmed to be the end of Gabriels era it’s pretty obvious that there gunna get the miraculous’s back And it means to ensure that this never happens again Ladybug will give all the miraculous to their respective holders permanently
I found the entirety of Multiplication to be anticlimactic but enjoyable. Overall, good episode. Also, that’s a French greeting for close friends. It’s not common for man to man so he wouldn’t do that with Nino. He’s not as close with Alya. Chat Noir greeted Marinette in this way in Weredad, so he’s done it before to express care. He’s used to Marinette’s weirdness so her acting awkward would be chalked up to her literally always being awkward around him. After his call telling her that he appreciates her friendship, I think he’s just trying to further express that with the more intimate French greeting for friends: a kiss on each cheek. So… creepy? I mean, I don’t think so but I’m sure there are people that disagree with me so 🤷🏼♀️
About those alliance rings, I want to know how so many people have them 😂 something like that definitely can’t be mass produced knowing it’s advanced capabilities and the material it’s made from. And what does it do that a phone can’t (besides grant access to a miraculous power)? It’s unimportant but I have to ask
What I was confused about In this episode is that Alex’s own DAD literally revealed her identity in front of the whole class and I’m like “dude identity’s are secret for a red go to ladybug and cat noir for advice like you seriously need it.”
Once again, Americans are missing some context, it’s customary in a lot of countries in Europe to greet people by kissing them on the cheek, so that what adrien was probably trying to do to marinette
People have been telling me that, but what does it say when you give 2 people a fist bump and one of them, who's not your bf/gf, a kiss? And remember, he never kissed anyone a greetings before. So to pull off a stunt like that simply says its for fanservice
The only time I remember a kiss as greeting was in Despair Bear at Cloé's party. And there it was a normal way to greet the guests. But we never saw Adrien doing that before. Maybe he thought, that Marinette always wished to be greeted that way, because she said goodbye with a kiss at Hero's day.
@@fatherplatypus2316 Adrien is a famous person I'm sure he does that every time he's out at big events. Adrien told mari she means so much to him so him want to kiss mari on the cheeck is a way to show her that. We never see Adrien doing that to mari before so this time it's very understandable.
It may me that kissing on the cheek is a casual greeting in france. In real life. The fact is that we haven’t seen this behavior being commonly displayed in the show at all, so the fact that it came out of nowhere is clearly hinting at more than a casual greeting between pals.
Ladybug and Catnoir should have find and confront Felix instead of his mom. They were being too soft. They should have told her that Felix stole the Miraculous. They should have stayed in London a bit longer and search for him.
It feels like before season five the show wasn't even progressing with the story. The first 2 seasons and a half did a good job being like one of those cartoons where the events of the episodes aren't even that related. Yes the characters where developed a little, like chloe for example but then it all got uno reversed. Soo... then in season 4 the events started having more sense and the plot became more interesting. And now season 5 feels like a compeltely new show. Everything is great now and I love how much action is involved. I wish it would have been like this earlier.
The only scene I didn't like is Su-han being manipulated ( I feel like it's Forced to avoid calling out ladybug), and Adrien trying to kiss Marinette ( I know it might seem as a way of greeting someone in Europe but man , he didn't do it to anyone). Over all I would give this episode a 7/10 .
Multiplication was such a good episode with such interesting plots, and twists but the way they executed it was just awful and unsatisfying. The second Suhan arrived yelling at them I was praying that they would stand up for themselves and I'm glad they did, but having this age old guardian just break down and cry on his knees seemed very awkward. The scene of Marrinete looking around the room was perfect and so was the call between Adrian and her but just Adrian completely going full Adrianette mode was the most awkward part of the episode. He goes in for a kiss every single day and doesn't get the message that Marrinete isnt comfortable. It wouldve been nice to just see him blush and have them hug or something but the kiss was just too much, too quickly. I felt as the scene between Adrian and his dad could've been expanded on more, there was this whole thing last season where he was finally going to stand up to his dad only for him to bail, just to have him do it like nothing in this episode. Ikari was an alright villian, definitely not who I wouldve expected to be the villian, the use of the miraculous multiplicating herself was cool and really brought some stakes but then just got completely clapped in a matter of seconds. She did more damage by herself than she did with all 6 of them. The end scene with felix was really cool. Overall the episode was nice but it was just very hard to watch at times.
Don't mind me rambling: I wanted Su-Han to do a 180 and start supporting Ladybug, but jeez, that 180.000 was just sad Rewatched some episodes and saw cheek kisses in platonic contexts, so I really don't know what to make out of Adrien's attempts, and let's not pretend is any more pushy than half the stuff Marinette has done Because I'm a crazy Owl House fan, I presume Gabriel is doing what Emperor Belos did in that show: amassing an inner circle by promising them power, wealth, etc in the new world he'd create with the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous; we already know Tomoe Tsurugi is in on it, other possible candidates: Natalie, Lila, Bob Roth, any of the Bourgeois Speaking of Lila, I can already see her handing out Alias Rings to everyone as some "promotional campaign". Apart from channeling Miraculous power, do we know what else those rings can do in the day and age of technology-massacring-our-privacy I theorized after last episode and I stand my ground, Adrien is unlocking "adult" powers because of his emotional growth. I'd like to point out that we haven't seen his Miraculous ticking down, neither did he try to use Cataclysm twice
Did anyone else notice the episode stopping for a moment to focus on wayem of all people? I think that he will be the permanent holder of the dog miraculous
Remember, Marinette was under the influence of a supervillain who was influencing her into taking risks when she made the mistake that led to Gabriel getting the Miraculouses. So it literally wasn't her fault. Although I wonder why she didn't tell that to Su Han. That would have been a more legitimate defense than what she and Cat Noir actually did.
11:44 - If past experience is any indication, those seeds are gonna stay under the ground and only sprout in the season finale, probably in an unsatisfying way that doesn't make much sense...
Kagami's mom knew what she was doing she was in total agreement to cause havoc on the Parisians, what if she had injured Ladybug to the point of not being able to fix the damage they caused? so when they find that out she was in her right mind of knowing what she was doing she will go to prison for attempted murder. Alex's dad was wrong to tell everyone who Bunnix is now Monarch knows and it puts Alex's life in danger. It was unnerving when Alya held down Marinette's hands so Adrien could kiss her, (it brought back bad memories of people holding me down so a boy I didn't even like could kiss me) yes Marinette wants to kiss him but she apparently isn't mentally ready and it shouldn't be forced upon her, in Cat Blonc Adrien did it the right way he talked to her telling her his feelings and got her consent to kiss her, (btw when he looked down to the corner when he said 'he realized they were more than friends' he was lying, he had no romantic interest in Marinette at the time he was into her as Ladybug and the only time he showed interest in her was when he realized she is Ladybug. Until Marinette is ready he should at least kiss her hand like he does as Cat Noir that's respectable. I want these two together but the right way not pushy like Felix tried to do to Ladybug and not against her will
I think you got the Su Han scene a little wrong. They weren't trying to make him feel bad, Marinette's main point was that standing there yelling at them wouldn't solve anything so trust us to do what we can and help us to get the miraculous back. Then Su Han falls apart and check out the shock and recoil on both heroes' faces. I don't think that's what they wanted.
It just that the writers executed the scene so poorly that it looks like manipulation. If someone tells me “You should’ve trust me” after they lost my trust I’ll be furious.
can we talk about how at alya's house there was a punching back with a full cutout of hawk moth on it man when gabe gets caught ima feel sorry for the beating he'll get by the people
I don't blame her. After what he's done to his family & the Kwamis, I'll glady have a Hawkmoth punching bag myself. 😈 And yes, I cannot wait for that, especially when the Kwamis are hopefully freed & they get to beat up Gabriel.
@@amandamakin1542Alya and Nino will be pissed when they see what he did to Wayz and Trixx Kagami too imagine finding out your mom's working with a terrorist
I find it interesting these kids exist but Felix dad is dead and technically Adriens mom is dead so I wonder if they do an ep where they show us Gabe getting what he wants if we'll see that Felix and Adrien can't exist since they've made it clear there will be someone else who replaces the person that's alive. Which then makes me think because they decided to create the kids if it was just destiny for the parents to die because technically Adrien and Felix shouldn't exist. Seems obvious, but I would like to see this covered in an episode.
From my understanding, kissing a friend on the cheek is a form of greeting in France that is culturally acceptable. We saw Chloe and Marinette do it. Adrien isn't trying to kiss her in the American or English concept, he's doing it in the french way. He's just saying hi. Though I've always been confused as to why this wasn't explained for the non-french audiences who don't do this in their culture. Feels like something that should have been mentioned to the kwamis.
I mean it's okay that he does it the first time. Because yes French people do that, I visited France a few years ago and I was really uncomfortable (nothing against the country or the people, its a beautiful country) . *But* all the times after that were not okay. Culture or no culture kissing someone who doesn't want to be kissed is not okay, a kiss is still different from a handshake because its way more intimate.
One thing I find strange is if Felix has already graduated high school, correct? That makes him and Adrien roughly 4 years apart. Which wouldn’t be a problem… if they were identical! Even though 2 people 4 years apart are impossible to tell apart maybe could be excused, it’s also said as children they used to trick their parents by dressing up as each other. But, how could CHILDREN do that?? I mean, we don’t know exactly when Emilie passes, but if we assume it’s been at least a few years, this is like a 11 year old and a 5 year old being somehow identical. Great and observant parenting to both their parents 🤦♀️
@@MoSalah17-18 Do you think Marinette would still try to sabotage her somehow if Zoe turned out to be in love with Adrien? Like Marinette tried to do with Kagami?
On the whole Adrien trying to kiss Marinette thing: that's actually just a way to greet people in France. I'm Spanish and we do the same thing too (heck I have done it with people who I don't even know that well and even family members I just met lol). That's why Alya is trying to get her to take it, she's trying to get her to act like a normal person instead of being awkward af (I couldn't imagine doing what Marinette does here lmao would probably come off as rude).
Still, Adrien shouldn’t have attempted to kiss her again and again, when it was clear she was uncomfortable with it the first time. In my country, before COVID, we kissed on the cheek as greeting to family members or colleagues too, sometimes on the mouth even. But I’m a very socially awkward person, so sometimes I refuse to do it, and if that makes me come off as impolite, so be it. I have the right to not consent to being touched. Adrien and Mari aren’t strangers, they’re friends, and I know Adrien is not that socially smart, but Mari was dropping clear hints that she was comfortable, and the fact he only decided to kiss her really disproves the “it’s only a greeting” argument.
@@toastysweaters5692 this is the same Marinette who regularly acts weird around him and has kissed him on the cheek in the past. Being that they are friends, it is more likely that Adrien sees her as just being her usual awkward self rather than being uncomfortable. And, let’s be honest, she isn’t uncomfortable. She does want to kiss Adrien but is just holding back. He can’t see that she is uncomfortable because she is not.
@@emoneestep Hmm, good point. Still, I found that whole sequence uncomfortable to watch, especially when Alya held Mari down so Adrien could kiss her, didn’t Adrien find that a bit weird?
I'm wondering when Su-Han is coming back and who will be with him since he is getting reinforcements. I was a little thrown too because I was looking forward to LB and CN getting back a miraculous in each episode. I guess that's not happening now. Also, I guess Kwamis can say the names of old holders because Duusu did say Natalie's name. I thought they would speak bubbles.
Can't Su-Han's Staff detect Miraculouses? Or does it just detect Miracle Boxes? If it can detect Miraculous, then he should give it to Ladybug. Also, with Ikari Gozen being the 1st Miraculous Enhanced Akumatized Person, my theory that this season they will all be adults (And thus, able to use the powers unlimitedly) is still going strong. I suspect they will all be members of Gabriel's Animal-Mask Secret Society that we saw last season.
@@ozby11 While true, I think Tamoe with The Mouse was just a Test-Run for Gabriel's new plan. A Lesser-Miraculous to risk in case the new plan failed. All in all, successful tho, Tamoe got away, and didn't lose the Mouse Miraculous. I still think she'll wield the Dragon Miraculous. Honestly tho, if Gabriel were smart, he would just fuse Moth/Dog Miraculous, Tap the Miraculous he intends to use, give it to an akumatized holder, and send them out and monitor. If they lose, Fetch. But also, I think Ladybug should dig out her Miracle Box, that thing still might have some innate powers, like if she quickly tosses a miraculous in there perhaps it guards against Fetch/protects the miraculous.
So this is my thoughts on the Adrienette/Ladynoir stuff - either Marinette's resolve is gonna crack, or we're about to get a reversal of the love square. I feel it could go either way at this point.
Why not just use the Rabbit Miraculous To go back in time, get the Dog Miraculous off of Felix and then Ladybug well... Save the Miraculous and couldn’t Ladybug just use the Dog Miraculous to get the teddy, break it, save everyone????
Adrian: "Father, I don't want to be a model anymore!"
Gabriel: creates Adrian 3D NFT 😂👌
@@papkinn exactly
It's possible that the kisses were probably the way of greeting in France. Marinette and Chloe did this in early season 2 I think. It's more likely an attempt to positively greet her, imo
It is but Adrien also hasn't ever greeted people with cheek kisses. People have done it to him, including his aunt, but he never really returns them or even initiates them, if that makes sense.
@@tama3162 He has as Chat noir to Marienette in Weredad
@@tiktokaesthetics Oooh ok, thanks! I couldn't shake the feeling that I was forgetting a scene.
Either way, he usually doesn't do it, so it's still meaningful that he's trying to do the cheek kiss greeting with Marinette specifically as Adrien.
Yea kissing on a cheek is a greeting in france its how they say hello
They made a point of showing that he greets Alya and Nino differently.
The fact that there was no smooth brain plot armor was a huge shock for me. If the wax statue scene and Adrien's attempt to kiss Mari were not there, this might've been one of the great episode
At least Marinette looks back at the wax statue scene with embarrassment
@@cousinparty7266 yeah
Also the Su han scene
Yeah, but it's extra weird bc they never did it before. Only time I remember anyone doing cheack kiss in the show, was back in Waerdad
It wasn't to me. It was a drag to go through. And the only good character was the ancient monk.
the rings are a good idea, if the heroes were to recover the miraculous because they defeated each villian who carries one then they'll need a new story soon.
But it'll become a Problem if they can't stop him from using the Powers again Constantly. They need some way to get back each Kwami Slowly and Over time otherwise there will not be any feasible way to stop Hawk Moth.
@@lockskelington314 that will happen in due time
@@wilsonweiseng6485 I also don't think the Miraculous was transferred to the ring but the ring that Tomoe had was one of the Rings Monarch had on his hand and is mass producing them so no one suspects anyone wearing a new ring that might have magical powers and they might not even know that they have a Miraculous as Monarch could Activate it remotely/tell them about it when they are akumatized. This way they have plausible deniability and He doesn't need to share his secret identity with anyone else.
No joke, but Nathalie is the best written character of this show in my opinion.
Yeah True
True 👌🏼
And also the smartest
Isn’t Gabe Monarch

After a lot of trial and error, the writers have seemed to find their groove.
Except the 1st episode.. it was so dumb how everything could have changed or LB & CN could have taken the Miraculous all at once
@@purplearies9746 yeah! I'm glad they have
I really like this episode.
Yeah but the implications are different because:
Opposite sex
Marinette and Adrien have known each other a while and he just started doing this as a way of greeting, instead of on a special occasion like a party
it's Adrien. He doesn't do this for anyone bc he doesn't know how to people 😭
But yeah it still wouldn't be too weird if he started doing it to Marinette, but ONLY to Marinette?
Idk after four seasons of “it’s too dangerous to know each other’s identities” It just felt out of place
good luck reaching someone who is in an another time period
I guess they wanted people to know that Alix was Okay. Since she would have suddenly Disappeared. They could have Lied. But then people would wonder why she is Calling, etc. Just telling them the truth just gives a lot less headaches.
Adrien was probably like "all these years of hard work... AND I COULD HAVE JUST ASKED?!" Haha

Felix is so smart that even LB and CN still don't think that he is evil.
That's not really being "smart". Felix didn't do anything in this instance. It was them coming to the wrong conclusion.
That's not very hard now, is it?
Or it's just lb an cn are stupid
No that just them being dumb and gullible
I wanna see Adrien try out Felix's spy monocle. Unless the writers forgot he found it in Gabriel's office.
I just hope that Aliya still gets some screen time this season. I loved here occasionally being around to help ladybug and even having 2 eps where she was basically the main hero.
she got ALOT of screentime last season so I don't get what your talking about
I hope they find the good balance with her.

Obviously, the power is somehow in the ring, the intro spoiles that for you
I find this interesting how instead of them getting a mraculas back every episode it's the rings that give them the power of the mraculas

I would like to say some things:
1) This season is starting to become really interesting and I can't wait for more episodes but this episode in particular seems like it did too little yet too much.
Also, it’s over the course of several weeks, for all we know he just tried those three times, not every single time.
9:35 I do think it was more the French Greeting kiss there
But the point being possibly made is that he has, almost, never done this to marinette specifically (there might be a scene but it was a background moment?)
And looking at the other comments, I do agree that he's "testing the waters" with his feelings, does the greeting kiss feel natural and right in this situation?
Pretty good episode, excited to see Felix transform
The Su-Han thing is so fucking funny. I guess the writers thought that not having Su-Han confront Ladybug about this would spark viewers to point out his absence, so they threw in a scene that accomplished nothing. It's basically to ward off people from complaining that they forgot about him. Which, honestly, I wish they would
Yeah I’d rather them actually forgot then giving us that dumbass scene
Pretty sure the kiss is the French greeting type of kiss. Like what Marinette and Chloe did in Despair Bear.
4:24 - OMG exactly! Lots of people have been praising the subsequent sequence, that montage in which they're doing NOTHING, playing chess on the top of a building... which doesn't make any sense, they shouldn't be able to think of anything else but retrieving the miraculous!
I have five big things to say about this:
1) The love square needs to die yesterday, it creates fake drama and it drags.
I'm still stuck on suhan being able to jump like that without using a miraculous. Haven't seen anyone talk about that yet....
Multiplication is like: LIES more lies with another lies with lies and even more
I definitely prefer this review where you put pictures from the actual episode rather than random clips from previous episodes (I'm guessing for copyright you can't show clips of the actual episode)
But hopping his ass back to Tibet for backup is a good start.
i’m already obsessed with season 5 and we’re only two episodes in
It would be cool to have Nathalie be the first one to know that Adrien is Chat Noir. Ik bunnix knows but does that count as it's future bunnix.
Luka already knows adrien is chat noir tho
I love this review, it's so witty, and realistic, not many opinions are clashed and it's just a very hilarious and enjoyable video.
If Gabe had cameras in the house he would already know the identities of ladybug and cat noir
Since Ladybug & Cat Noir always win and season 5 has been confirmed to be the end of Gabriels era it’s pretty obvious that there gunna get the miraculous’s back
And it means to ensure that this never happens again Ladybug will give all the miraculous to their respective holders permanently
I assume the wiki on ladybugs phone was either slight meta humour or part of the 'lucky charm' magic.
I hope Mari's and Adrian's relationship will be much better 👏 For trust and a good duo. ❤️
Exactly I just know that want to use it as a way to hate on Adrien and called him a guy that knows no boundaries.
@@icecreamchilling7438 Finally someone said it! Thank you!
I love that as the seasons go, smarty pants just gets more savage😂😂
It may me that kissing on the cheek is a casual greeting in france. In real life. The fact is that we haven’t seen this behavior being commonly displayed in the show at all, so the fact that it came out of nowhere is clearly hinting at more than a casual greeting between pals.
Ladybug and Catnoir should have find and confront Felix instead of his mom. They were being too soft. They should have told her that Felix stole the Miraculous. They should have stayed in London a bit longer and search for him.
Ikari Gozen acrually shrinks but since it was alredy huge it's not so obviust
Yeah those rings are definitely gonna be where Gabe houses those kwamis in instead the actual miraculous that were stealing from Ladybug
Gabe is so smooth brain
I won’t lie so badass that gabe has become Steve Jobs and creates the new iPhone that can also replicate miraculous powers
I really want to learn about the plot regarding the rings. Using technology to copy and distribute magical powers is really fascinating.
Overall the episode was nice but it was just very hard to watch at times.
alix dad should have kept his mouth shut
Don't mind me rambling:
I wanted Su-Han to do a 180 and start supporting Ladybug, but jeez, that 180.000 was just sad
Rewatched some episodes and saw cheek kisses in platonic contexts, so I really don't know what to make out of Adrien's attempts, and let's not pretend is any more pushy than half the stuff Marinette has done
Because I'm a crazy Owl House fan, I presume Gabriel is doing what Emperor Belos did in that show: amassing an inner circle by promising them power, wealth, etc in the new world he'd create with the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous; we already know Tomoe Tsurugi is in on it, other possible candidates: Natalie, Lila, Bob Roth, any of the Bourgeois
Speaking of Lila, I can already see her handing out Alias Rings to everyone as some "promotional campaign". Apart from channeling Miraculous power, do we know what else those rings can do in the day and age of technology-massacring-our-privacy
I theorized after last episode and I stand my ground, Adrien is unlocking "adult" powers because of his emotional growth. I'd like to point out that we haven't seen his Miraculous ticking down, neither did he try to use Cataclysm twice
I didn't understand why they revealed Bunnix's identity to the class. Aren't their identities suppose to stay a secret??
This show doesn't have rules anymore..
Did anyone else notice the episode stopping for a moment to focus on wayem of all people? I think that he will be the permanent holder of the dog miraculous
yes true and he is very loyal
Sabrina: "Ive been replaced TWICE! DO THE THIRD, I DARE YOU!"
Or maybe the peacock
@@celebritieslife1812 the peacock is an extremely powerful and dangerous miraculous. I don't think they'd give that to a random side character
the turtle miraculous is honestly very weak... Cat broke it with his stick
With each ring the villains will be more interesting
Omg smarty pants ur video are so funny I'm literally dying of laughter everytime you make a MLB breakdown 🤣🤣🤣
Good point
11:44 - If past experience is any indication, those seeds are gonna stay under the ground and only sprout in the season finale, probably in an unsatisfying way that doesn't make much sense...
I really think season 5 is going to be the best season!
I loved it. I'm hype for Adrinette angst and development.
Technically the akumatized villain's power: 'Risk' also had a part in that since he too was also under the influence of his power when it happened
I think Tomoe's involvement felt kind of thrown in there, but aside from that, the episode felt reasonably decent.
Well she and gabriel have clearly some relationship considering their children and her involvement was hinted in the season 5 intro
Technically, they've been extremely sus, with something going on behind the scenes since she was introduced so I don't find it that thrown in.
This has been hinted since s3
@@darriongeorge5137 I'm specifically referring to her becoming Ikari Gozen again.
@@OpticalSorcerer if I understood correctly they were just trying out the rings
Su-Han was not in the wrong...
Felix's wiki page in the episode looks like its just his real life French wiki page
I want these two together but the right way not pushy like Felix tried to do to Ladybug and not against her will
Couldn't Alex's dad have just told everyone she was studying abroad or something?
And yes, I cannot wait for that, especially when the Kwamis are hopefully freed & they get to beat up Gabriel.
Thing is, we've never seen Marinette or Adrien greet each other this way outside of their costumes. That's what makes it jarring.
Maybe Felix is the same age as Adrien but he was smart enough to skip grades and graduate early.
Felix has a American dad and Zoé has a American dad, maybe they have a the same dad and Felix’s dad isn’t dead and just faked his death (half joking)
Big Brains
Imagine if Felix's dad is brother with Zoe's dad, so Adrien, Felix, Chloe, and Zoe are all cousins 😂
@@fatherplatypus2316 Imagine if there were people who shipped Zoe with Felix.....
That Ship would sink faster than the Titanic.
So that means Zoe is related to Adrien.
Interesting
That could be true, but with probably different animals because Tomoe had a dragon mask and she got the Mouse
I really thought Bunnix's identity would be a secret in the future and now they're telling us that it's not, oh well then
I can’t wait for the next episodes, these episodes were just amazing.
So this is my thoughts on the Adrienette/Ladynoir stuff - either Marinette's resolve is gonna crack, or we're about to get a reversal of the love square. I feel it could go either way at this point.
i think the kissing thing is meant to be the french thing where two people kiss each other on the cheeks as a greeting.
Why not just use the Rabbit Miraculous To go back in time, get the Dog Miraculous off of Felix and then Ladybug well... Save the Miraculous and couldn’t Ladybug just use the Dog Miraculous to get the teddy, break it, save everyone????
