  • GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1972 Ford LTD for sale. The Ford LTD was the largest car that Ford offered throughout the 70s. It came with many optional engines and the one offered here has the 400 Ci V8. The engine is mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission and power is sent directly to the rear wheels. The engine fires right up without any issues and all gear changes are solid and smooth.
The exterior was repainted with a beautiful burgundy color in 1997 and is still in extremely good condition. Paired with the burgundy paint is the original white vinyl top that is also in great condition. The exterior is loaded up with chrome featuring chrome trim, door handles, and new chrome bumpers replaced at the time of the repaint.
Complementing the exterior is a wonderful burgundy interior that features patterned cloth seats. There are no rips or tears to be seen throughout the interior. To make the drive enjoyable this car has factory air conditioning that is still in working condition, and the heater also still functions. With the windows lowered, you can see the unique pillarless design of the Ford LTD.
Driving this car is a pleasure due to the power steering and power brakes. The large engine starts right up and has no issues pulling this car down the road. All lights, turn signals, locks, and windows work as they should meaning this car is ready to go. Please call or email with any questions or for additional information.

My father always had LTD's for company cars when I was a kid. You know that era where Mom left the kids to climb around the inside of the car while she went in the store and the Police weren't called? 😆 When four kids from 8 down to 2 years could fit due to no car seat requirements? Yep. I was about 8 when Dad had a 72 LTD.

I had one just like that in Olive Green I bought it for 550 bucks back in 1990 I drove it throughout the entire 90s it had 60000 original miles on it when I found it the only thing that didn't work on it was the blend door was broken so it only wanted to blow out the defrost so in the summertime I used a stick under the dashboard to close the blend door and make it blow out of the dash and then removed it in the winter so my defrost worked and it had about a quarter sized tear triangle-shaped in a vinyl top but I glued it back down didn't have a speck of rust on it when I got it some guy had a ledger he kept every time he put a part on it heat right down the mileage and the date every time he put gas in it he would write down the mileage every time he change the oil he would write it down when I was test driving it I was checking the brakes and I slammed them real hard and a gun slid out from under the seat I picked it up and threw it in the glove box and finish my test drive took it back to his house and he come running out looking for his gun freaking out he was an undercover police officer and he totally forgot he left his pistol in there it got horrible gas mileage still ran good when I got rid of it only thing I ever did to that car in the eight years I drove it was tires a wheel bearing a battery a water pump and brakes....

This is precisely what my grandparents owned up until about 1978. A maroon 1972 LTD Brougham. Traded in for a 1964 Ford Galaxie. And their other car was a gold 1968 LTD, a much nicer car than this.

I had a '74 Gran Torino with a 400 and it was one of the worst gas hogs I ever owned. 9-10 mpg around town and 13-14 on the highway. I now have a '72 LTD with a 351-2bbl and it's pretty consistent at 12 -14 around town and 16-18 on the road.

Bench seats with no armrest. You really got to hang on around corners.
