- Well it's summertime here in North Texas and the its hot as you know what. Its also been slim pickins as far as classics in the yards lately so I haven't been posting as much. I actually seen this 1972 Ford LTD come arrive on a flatbed last week but didn't think they'd put it out for parts this quickly. I actually thought they might try to sell it whole first. Here it is now one week later and she's being parted out. Its kind of a shame as this one is essentially all there and not too bad as far as rust on body damage goes. The interior was all there albeit some if it sun baked. The only rust i could see was the trunk floor or lack there of as well as a little around the back window. Even though it was a vinyl top car, it actually fared fairly well in terms of roof rust. Under the hood she waa all there as well with a 351 Windsor 2 barrel. All in all nit a bad car with plenty of good parts to be saved before it. ultimately meets the crusher.

Whoa Nelley, three for one and it's done. To use your term, "It's hot as bolanas" all over the country. I have to go to Ohio for work. No real relief there. First thing I packed was my bathing suit as that's how I'll cool off after a day's worth of work and after dinner (as well as get some exercise).
1967 Falcon Futura with the VIN for the win: 7 for 1967 model year, K for Kansas City, MO assembly, 21 for Falcon Futura four door sedan with bench seat, T for 200 CID straight six with one barrel and the rest is the production sequence. The Kansas City, MO plant aka known as "KCAP" or Claycomo Assembly still operates under Ford today. We got the tag, we can brag: 54B for Falcon Futura four door sedan with bench seat, 6 for Light Beige exterior paint, 4U for Parchment/Black interior trim, 05D for Wednesday April 5, 1967 production, 62 for Houston, TX sales district, 2 for 2.83:1 rear axle ratio, non-locking and W for C-4 automatic transmission. I believe this door might be from another vehicle because the paint on the inside of the trunk is blue, not tan, but who knows.
1990 Ford E-250 Van with the VIN for the win: 1FD for US made Ford truck, incomplete, G for 8,001 to 9,000 # Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, S24 for E-250 cargo van, H for 5.8L (351 CID) V8 with EFI, 4 is a check digit, L for the 1990 model year, H for Lorain, OH assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Lorain, OH plant operated from 1958 to 2005. No tag, can't brag, but possible code EF Bright Currant Red exterior paint. The Lorain plant produced over 8 million vehicles in the time it operated.
1972 Ford LTD: That company name is just the sticker company. The person that owned that Ford was a golfer. The dealership is Helm-Lary and was owned by Yale Lary for about a decade. He was a football player as well. The dealership is long gone and you can make out where it was, but it appears it's a strip mall now. We got the VIN, we win: 2 for 1972 model year, G for Chicago, IL assembly, 62 for two door LTD hardtop, H for 351 V8 with two barrel, and the rest is the production sequence. The Chicago, IL plant still operates today. We got the tag, we can brag: 65H for LTD two door hardtop, 5J for Medium Ginger Bronze metallic exterior paint, DF for Ginger interior trim, 2 for 2.75:1 rear axle ratio, non-locking, X for FMX automatic transmission and 52 for Dallas, TX sales district. The 351 V8 like the bigger 400 V8 (VIN code "S") brother was another sloppy engine with awful carburetion and ignition. The 1972 version of this 351 (which was rated in net HP) was about 177 HP.
Whoa Nelley, LTD and it's over for thee. It's a van and it needs a hand. The Falcon 'bird became a turd. That's it, time to quit. 351 and it's done. Motorcraft needs a life raft. Futura made in KCAP will soon be flat. Van made in Lorain and nothing but a pain. Going to be flat and that's that. FMX is a big mess. C-4 and soon to be out the door. All going to get squished and perhaps some here, the FOMOCO faithful, I think Benny, but ya guessed, nah, not the Google Man are going to be pissed.
WOW!!! WHAT A STORY.. PEACE DUDE..
OOOOHHHH ITS GOOGLE MAN!!! BLESS YOU ,,.. ALMIGHTY... WE LOVE YOU..HA!!!!
@@ronaldmiller2740 Sure thing. Nice of you to say.
@@googleusergp KEEP DROPPING IN ,, WE HEAR SO MUCH ABOUT YOU BY BENNY ,, AND HERE YOU ARE !! THE WORDS YOU SAY CAR HEAVEN ON THE ROAD OR IN THE JUNK YARD.. PEACE !!!
@@ronaldmiller2740 Benny, "G Money Auto Crushing" (Now Death Row Auto Crushing) and Mr. Magnante have all called me out in their videos.
Easy brother, that's a car graveyard not a people graveyard. Don't get heatstroke and end up with the cars as your final resting place. Stay cool and hydrated.
Love yr videos . I almost bought a 72 LTD 2 door in 73. Nice car.
Holy cow! Does anybody remember the movie Gator with Burt Reynolds? He had a Ford with a 428 or 429,same color except it was a 4 door. I'm a Chevy guy but always loved that Ford 2 or 4 door! I am truly passionate about old cars and I hope someone saves it 🙏👍👌😍. By the way, I love your videos, but sometimes they are unsettling for me😢. Keep them coming 😊
White Lightning was the first...1973
Gator was a few years later.
Burt's car was a '71. It had the smaller one year only taillights.
Good looking car in its day. Shame to see it in the yard because it looks fixable. Thanks for doing the video in that heat!
I would love to see that car going again
Thanks for sweating your A*S off to bring us this gem, Love the 72 LTD, Thanks Benny!
My Dad had a 71 LTD red two door, black vinyl roof, and black cloth interior. It had a 400, and I used to give it hell. Car was a blast
This LTD is very close to the one that my grandparents bought in the Fall of 1971. Same color inside and out. Their car did not have the bumper guards, but it had the remote control mirror on the driver's side and the matching manual passenger mirror. Their car also had the 400 V8 instead of the 351. You can tell an early production car because there is no fasten seat belt light on the passengers side of the dash. I remember the car could seat six people with no problem and was so smooth and quiet.
Streets of San Francisco ride kool LTD !!! ☝🏽
Benny, you sound like you're ready to fall out... get out of the heat!
Have a good weekend Benny. 😊
Great car. I had a 72 Galaxy it was one of my favorite cars. Seeing this LTD brings back some great memories. Thanks for the video.
Trunk floor probably rusted out because of the holes below the back glass it leaked in the trunk and it held water..
Theres definitely a few valuable parts on that big girl! Door panels, door glass, trunk lock emblem.
Benny and the jets my dad had a brand new 71 ltd it was a nice car until I wrecked it when my parents went on a cruise. My dad beat my ass. That 72 is not that bad.
Benny you were right the first time. It’s freaking hot here in Florida too!
I live in florida too I work outside Could only work about 4 hours a day too hot.
A buddy of mine had a 72' Ltd in high school. Gotta bring water in the yard. Yes, it's hot here in Florida as well. Be safe in the heat
I feel your pain brother I’m a hvac guy I’ve been in attics all week the heat’s unbearable take it easy my friend
Nice LTD! Has potential to be restored, or used for parts.... Hope someone salvages something from that land yacht!! Thanks for the herculean effort to stay focused in the heat to bring us that clip!! 👍
Amazing how well the door closes
Would like a 71/72 Ford Galaxy 500 two door.
You the man ! thanks for showing in the heat...hope you carry water? all the best...oh, nice Ford too !
That 1972 LTD, should have been saved. A 2-door to. All there. Probably might even run. Probably was Grandmas sunday church car. Agree its a shame the yard didnt try to sell it.
🏁 Nice video Benny. She really did have some good parts left, that's too bad.🇺🇲🏁🏁🏁😎🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Mr. B. Here ! 🍺🍺👍👍. Keep cool after you done !
Back in the early 90s, my best friend Patrick had a 66 Ford Falcon just like that, 4 door. He had a painted red by Earl schab. 3 days later He t bones someone iin an intersection and totaled it...😢
Stay cool Benny!!! The 72 LTD has a DSO code 52. Des Monies. That dealership in TX must have special ordered that one from another dealer in the midwest. Or something along those lines.
Gator Macklusky car. White Lighting
yeah, the heat is super annoying out here in San Antonio, it’s been 100 every freaking day for the last month or so
Really cool Ford. Too nice to junk. I am in the Philippines for a month on vacation and it's really hot and humid too.
Dang! I’m not a Ferd guy but that seems too nice to be in the yard. ‘72 LTD - Left To Die! Thanks for dealing with the crazy dangerous heat to show us what’s in the yard bro, stay hydrated!
If you'll look this Gen of LTDs were tuff built like a tank well worth restoring
I bought a 1972 Ford LTD in 1991. 2 door, 400 cubic inch engine. A very solid car, nice big car ride. By 1991 it seemed like an antique compared to the jelly bean front wheel drive cars that dominated the roadways. It was like a gas guzzling dinosaur. I loved it.
This is the reason I love watching all the old classic tv series like MeTV and FeTV. Classic TV series like from Perry Mason to Barnaby Jones. Like there was an episode of Barnaby Jones where this female was driving a 75 or a 76 Black 2Dr Mercury Brougham Grand Marquis LS Park Lane. The car had every option you can think 🤔 💭 🧐 of you name it it had it, right down to the highly buffed, highly polished aluminum dish mag rims. Like I said before and I’ll say it again if I ever hit a big huge jackpot lottery like the mega millions or power ball i would start my own Antique, Classic and Vintage Automobile Collection. With all the Big 3.
Sincerely Yours Truly
Ivan I J
Hot nasty day for you. Hahahha. Thanks for the video!
It not bad shape besides the trunk
A big hole look solid and 2 door
Look nice too bad is in junkyard
Good projects
My first car mine had a 400 with 2 barrel gold with black top ran very good and smooth
It’s too hot to go into a salvage yard in extreme heat
Thats a nice braum ltd
Nice LTD.
Be a good hot rod , restored 😊
The 72 Ltd was still in very good shape for her age and sad she is junked. I'm not a Ford fan at all but those are still Hella nice even though impala and caprice are what I like. I'd roll a wagon version of this Ltd though as all wagons are bad ass
Reminds me of Gators car in White Lightning. I had a service manual for these, and the P1 interceptors had some pretty stout engine options. I’m pretty sure they were emissions exempt too if I remember correctly
, also got that factory 64 Oz juice can vacuum canister too
Dude i'm in florida it's freaking hot❤️🔥❤️🔥
Nice LTD. A shame it ended up in the yard. That one probably would run & still has some good miles left in her to go!
I like that 72 LTD Benny, a nice car in its day.
My first car in 1980 I paid 175.00 dollars for it and had 62 thousand miles on it blue with black vinyl top 2 door with a 400 engine.
aww the LTD looks like a nice car the body on her looks very STRAIGHT
Unfortunately they crushed it
L TD looks like it could make several toasters
Sad... ☹️ one of the best fords .
neat car
Thanks for the odometer check.. 351 Windsor out of Canada. I had a 91 Crown with the 351. Not much off the line but she would do 110 w/o batting and eye
Wow, what a complete *WASTE*. *SAD* The yard should've tried to sell it because it seems like it was in decent condition!
There's a ton of savable interior pieces, doors, hood, front end, decklid, and motor as well! I hope they all get saved! What's amazing is you finding the Build Sheet of the car, even though it disintegrated. Texas heat & sun wreaks havoc on cars.
The front end is desirable for many Ford guys because it's before the "safety bumpers" were implemented in '73. Save the front end!
I think Benny would too have been pissed that the LTD is going to waste.
how much for the bubble window blinds......never mind. seriously, thanks for sharing. i had same car except mine was 4 dr hardtop. loved her. funny to see a LTD brougham with a non remote control mirror and especially a matching right one
I bet uncle Jesse brought it in 😊
THANKS BENNY FOR SHOWING THE LTD SAD,, ITS IN THERE,,.. MY SON MAX 8 AND I LOVES THESE CARS,, IN OLD MOVIES WE SEE THEM AS POLICE CARS.. THE GRILL ARE AWSOME AND THIS ONE TOO..... THE VAN THE SEATS LOOKED GOOD ,,.. STAY COOL ,,THANK YOU FOR YOUR HOT VIDEOS ,,.MY WIFE SAYS YOU CAN GET A FAN ITS AMOST AS BIG AS YOUR HAND IT COMES WITH A STRING TO PUT AROUND YOUR NECK IT BLOWS TO YOUR FACE ,,IT TAKES 3 AAA BATTERYS .. PEACE...
How do you cope with that heat down there, man. I'm in Western Canada and finding summers too hot these days. Gotta love those 71/72 LTD's. I remember one of our friends had a 4 door 72 in Buttermilk with black vinyl roof. Nice ride.
This past summer worse than others recently..i gwt through it telling myself its just a few months. At least it's over now. Just found a 72 4 door Galaxie 500 in the yard
72 nice
9 inch rear end was always sought after by gear heads.
Let me tell you I hate FLorida with a passion. Especially Miami where I live. Never thought I’d hate a place so badly. Been thinking about relocating to Dallas. Can the heat there possibly be any worse than in south Florida? Are the bugs out of control?
Have to be a four door to be a white lightning car
3:21. Does Benny know how to open the shades on a van??? You pull *DOWN* on the shades, not pull *OUT* LOL!
The Texas heat must've caused a little climate change in your brain haha!
It was a cool van though, we need more conversion van videos!
by that time I was thinking straight. went straight for brute strength 😄
I'll give you $20 for that car very nice car
I have a 72 Ford LTD and need some parts. HOw do I get in touch with this junkyard?
Unfortunately they crushed this car a little while back
In the movie gator why couldn't they use a 2 door LTD instead of the 4 door they used with the 4 speed.
White Lightning. Gator was the sequel.
There's a shot in that movie or one of its sequels where you can see Burt Reynolds shift the column shift up into the park position before getting out of the car. I don't think those sedans (Custom or Custom 500 model) used in the movies really had 4 speed shifts. The only manual shift you could get in a '71 Ford was a three speed manual on the column and I believe it was discontinued in mid-year.
@@michaelwitas9482 White Lightning. Yeah, they edit in scenes for action effect.
Two doors are rare
and unfortunately it was crushed soon afterwards
Hey man u know u use the expression balls too much lol 😂
bollinas 😄
I need a FMX can you give the name of the yard? Thanks
Crain's in Ft Worth Texas
This car could be saved
Where is it I need parts
It was at Crain's in Ft Worth Texas but they crushed it a while back
@ClassicRideSociety that's sad 😔
I looking for classic Ford ltd for sale
That LTD should have been restored, not in the yard ,nice car, except the trunk floor ,which could be replaced
agreed. I really thought they were gonna try and sell it first before throwing in the yard for parts
351w, fmx or c6. Hell with the rest of it. Go back to the black Mustang. Why are those cars not up in the air?
My ol gramps had 2 LTD,s over the years , big ugly cars LOL
67 falcon
thanks benny my family always had ltds growing up. we were a ford family .my chevy loving friends called ltd s . lotta trash from detroit. i came back with cracked heads every valve rattles leaks oil every time . spell it out chevrolet. ha ha never failed to shut the chevy lovers up. back in my day it was car wars.
8:42 I hate how ppl will be rough with the cars and damage them just cuz they're in a scrap yard. why damage something or be super rough with the cars and trucks? Especially if they are classics. someone could be looking for that bumper and not be able to use it cuz some f@ckt@rd decided to dent the sh!t out of the bumper! I just don't see the point of destroying something unless its heading right to the crusher anyway! this is what makes me hate my own species!
The Ford dealer ship of HELM-LARY FORD, INC. was Incorporation 9 November 1964 (over 58 years ago)---- Dissolution Date 18 December 1987. They are no longer, but there was a insurance lawsuit that they won back in 1978, DAIRYLAND CTY. MUT. INS. CO. v. HELM-LARY FORD, INC. Thanks for the video Benny and keep cool!
I believe Yale Lary (one of the owners at one time) was a football player before he opened the dealership. He was also into real estate.
