    hey this is out of the blue on the 4 year old video but I just have to ask I have a ma 020ve pro and the mount for my rear shock tower broke the plastic is tiny in the area it broke I was wondering if you would recommend any of these parts to replace it? part is in the mdw100-002 pack @ 2:10 when you are looking down on the rear end it is the 2 black plastic humps in the middle . one of them broke.

    Hi, Do you know if the MA020 rear end is cross compatible with the MA030 (non-DWS)? I was thinking of running PN aluminum Knuckles rear but I dont see the MA030 available, only the MA020. Also, what about the rear toe bar, are they also x-compatible?
    Do you also know if the front end of the MA020 has the same width as the Narrow configuration of the MA030?
    Thank you!

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  2 года назад +1

      Hey man, thanks for the sub.
      Yes the stock ma-010 ma-020 & ma-030 all use the same exact rear end & the parts are universally comparable.
      The DWS is also universally compatible across all three platforms. Just be careful since the stock king pin style rear end parts are not compatible with the DWS & vise virsa.
      As for the front ends, yes they will have the same track width for the 020 & 030.
      Hope this helps, let me know if you need further clarification & good luck with your build!

    I have a question. Just got two MA-020 for my son and I and they're completely stock. We're both having a problem with the front hinge pin clips. They keep falling off. Happened to my son about 4 times and luckily he found it each time. Just happened to me tonight and can't find the clip. I know I can but anther but don't wanna buy the whole parts bag for that clip. Is there a mod or an upgrade? I've done some searching and coming up with almost nothing. Can't believe we're the only ones experiencing this. We're not even crashing into anything.

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  3 года назад +1

      Hello, yes those little clips are the bane of all mini-z AWD users. They would constantly pop off my kit as well & they are incredibly easy to lose. Like you said its a PITA to source replacements since Kyosho wants you to buy that little kit... That said there are a couple guys out there that are 3d printing replacement clips & selling them to the community. I'm not sure who is selling them but if you ask in the Facebook groups they will point you in the right direction.
      Regarding an upgrade to remove the clips, you are on the right video. The MPower front arms offer threaded pins so you never have to worry about those clips again, however they are pricy.

    • @glinx1
      @glinx1 3 года назад +1

      @@BMR3 I was looking at the MPower option. It seems to consist of two pieces. Do I have to buy both to fit or will the part that holds the hingepin work alone?

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  3 года назад

    Can you recommend a brushless motor and also how to eliminate (if possible) the play in the front steering? The car never tracks straight due to this play, out of the box. Thanks

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  4 года назад

      I’m using the 4100kv Xspeed on my ma-030Evo & it’s great for drifting. As far as the front tires being wobbly, you can shim the front steering knuckles to help eliminate some of the slop in the swing arms & tires. Aside from that you can adjust the steering trim with the controller, but mini-z AWD always have a bit of slop in the front steering

    Hi BMR, can I transfer all electronic including the servo from the Evo-03 to this chassis.? Please let me know and Thankyou.! We love your videos.! So informative .!

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  3 года назад +1

      Hey Piinky, No I don't think you can since the MA-030Evo uses a completely new style of receiver (the type that lets you change the chip) & the servo has a slightly different style from my understanding due to the motor being mounted in the front.
      If you want a MA-020EVO you can buy a brushless board & motor, then do a conversion but it will still be different from the 030 since they have a different style of receiver board.

    Great to hear that you get your money’s worth in quality machining/design! No upgrade drive? Any difference in performance? Thank you for this content.....you helped make up my mind. I was going to add a mini-z to my collection. Instead I’m going to get another full boat 1/10 yd2sx. I can easily see spending $800 on mini-z/spares/upgrades.....and performance/repeatability seems questionable.

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  4 года назад +2

      Dude skip the mini-z, I’m starting to realize they are the kiddie version of micro RC & can’t compare to something like the yd2sx.
      You seem to be pretty advanced with RC, have you looked into Atomic DRZ? It’s a RWD drifter that’s uses “normal RC” style electronics & you can upgrade the steering system to a bell crank that mimics the yd2s steering system.
      I have a DRZ in the mail with the Super Skeeter (yes I realize how ridiculous the name is 😹) & I will be making videos all about it. Stay tuned to the channel, I feel the DRZ is more your style.

      Channel content and edit is clean and concise! I've been RC for 40+ years?!?!....Most lately fixed wing and Freestyle/racing kwads. I've started a business teaching a STEM program incorporating Flitetest's online STEM curriculum. Some of my students are interested in starting with R/C cars/trucks, so investigating the different options...work..work..work😁 I've have a couple 1/10 4wd countersteer MST 01D that are great for asphalt and a YD2sx2 RWD for concrete(local track only allows RWD)......for years, but I didn't get really proficient until Quarantine closed all our flying fields. Mini-z looked promising for indoor/small space use, and perhaps for touring racing?....and the available bodies are as cool as it gets.....but ultimately, I feel that if I spent hours practicing with the mini-z......I'd just be frustrated. 1/10 scale tuning, whether it be touring, off-road, drift, crawling is very satisfying and repeatable....just like full-size.
