    Oh THAT Galadriel!
Got worried for a bit there.
Greatly relieved as I don’t consider her Galadriel at all!

I mean Katniss really isn't a hero. She's a traumatized victim of circumstance. She may be the protagonist, but she's not a hero and isn't supposed to be.

The sequel films portray her as a hero.

Maybe the main thing lost in the films compared to the books is that the books make it clear that Katniss is NOT an role model and nothing to strive for.
In fact one of the main points is that the rebellion is constantly making her into this larger than life symbol but we see the real Katniss who is the absolute opposite of any of that.
I think there's even a scene where Coin, the rebellion leader, debates whether to have her killed because she fucks up so much and this way she could become a martyr.
But through Katniss we also see the hypocrisy and inhumaneness of the rebellion who is not much better than the Capitol and doesn't care about doing good as much as simply winning the war and gaining the power.
Katniss is traumatized and this leads to stunted emotional responses, but she tries to regain her humanity, if you will.

    This is a excellent analysis.

That was more gentle than I’d have thought … still, biting.
You realize one could do an entire series of these, develop them into a benchmark and compare them against Everything the comes out in future?

Try the film 'Kate' for a decent story/female lead.

Interesting, but I’m not a huge fan of the “feminist” as a negative. I’d think you wanting more thoughtfully written women would make you a feminist? I mean, that’s kinda the whole point of feminism. Equality and mutual respect

      Egalitarianism is about equality.
Feminism was created to circumvent that real movement, make it appealing to the masses but was in actuality a gender orientated form of marxism.

@@JoeTheUberGeekWell... I think you might be generalizing a bit much there. The first wave of feminism was mainly about the right to vote and to this day many different people with different ideologies lay claim to the word "feminism".
Who is to say which are the real ones?
But many feminists certainly are guilty of your criticisms.

      @@steffenjensen422 History is skewed.
Some things are downright lies, feminism and what it aimed to accomplish are not about equality and never have been. I've seen mountains of primary source based evidence that shows this.
I stand by my points 100%.

@@JoeTheUberGeek @JoeTheUberGeek Without any background in history or interest in researching this further, I can't really speak to that.
I still think it counts for something that many people share OPs opinion that feminism is about equality. If the majority thought this way and acted like it, it would be true, after all there is not much else to an ideology but the people the share it and the effect it has on their actions.
Either way, feminism still has a lot of goodwill because at least generally, it is credited with equal rights, even among people who criticize more recent developments.
If that is misguided, that might be an interesting topic for a video of yours.
By the way I don't want to come off as overly critical or even confrontational, so I want to say that I liked the video a lot. Your production quality is great and the script was almost on par with huge channels like the little platoon. I need to watch some of your older stuff to see your evolution, but I think you have a great future!
