I'm glad youtube recommended me this video! I never really got into Mars Argo and always preferred Poppy's stuff so I was curious about her music, I'll go listen to it, thanks for the recommendation! As some constructive criticism I want to say that the Titanic Sinclair part felt a little out of place in the middle of discussing Mars' songs, it could've been either before or after the music as a bit of context or filling the viewer in. Also Id like you to know that the audio in your on camera parts was a bit too quiet imo and when talking about Titanic Sinclair the levels were strongly to one side, that could've been fixed during editing. I really liked the video overall and I'm glad to see people who are starting out on RUclips as opposed to people who've been here for over 10 years. Definitely keep up the good work, don't get discouraged and make videos about what inspires you and what you're passionate about, those are always a joy to watch!
The version of Technology is a Dead Bird you used in your video is not the one they made for the Technology is a Dead Bird album. The one you featured in your video is a remix they created with Johnny K for their 2nd album.
Open Up The Door In Your Head ~ ~ ~ is my favourite ~ ~ ~ in which she uses her high pitched vocal zone particularly well - I think she's a victim of the type of relationship where the male is not as intelectually capable as the female. That toxic male was guilty of psychological torture. And if you've known repulsive males, his body language was just the same as every repulsive male you've known yourself.
Nice retrospective on Mars better than most as you focused more on the band and music rather over the controversy. Wonder what you would have thought of Lick It Like a Kitten but I don't think it's coming out any time soon. It’s definitely something, half the people hate it and half love it as it’s completely different (being rap) to Angry and ICOBM. I do like it as a single but on the Angry and ICOBM EP I don’t think it fits.
Just heard it - not a fan. 😑 I hope she doesn't continue in the direction of that song, i feel its a bit nothingy and a big down grade but, she makes what she wants to make ig
personally I love LILAK as it’s so different but I understand why not everyone would like it. Even though it’s not what people ideally wanted it’s nice to hear just have fun especially with how active she is on her website.
at 9:18 was that not a demo? there's no minute long instrumental intro in the finalised version and it generally sounds quite different to the one used in this video very nice to see a mars argo retrospective that focuses on the music aspect rather than the lawsuit, nice work!!
Yeah its the Johnny K Reprise, its the version I know the most so chose that one, the OG is the one with Titanic singing at the very start. Thanks for watching
@@RealIsaacLacy ohh i see!! i think i've only ever heard the johnny k reprise of using you, gonna have to check those out later, tysm for the new knowledge!! the choice of having a long instrumental intro like that was an odd choice for sure though, i wonder what the thought process was :pp
Thanks for letting me know she put the music on Spotify! I've been listening to scraps and remixes on Soundcloud since the last time I checked Mars Argo isn't on Spotify (and that was yeaaars ago). With that, here's my top 5: 1. Using You 2. Love in Black and White 3. Runaway Runaway 4. Mr. Staedtler 5.Beauty Is Empty
oh man, good job on this one. my top five are probably machine machine, using you, everything turns to gold, love in black and white, and beauty is empty (linden place ep is probably one of my fave records tho sooo)
How are you guys not talking about Wet Cigarettes? 😭😭😭 My beloved About the Titanic thing, I feel like he has the right to live another life and start over, but to me it feels like he hasn't learned a lot from everything and seems to not have apologized for the damage he's done, to Brittany and to Moriah, so it's a shame. He's talented and very creative, but I just can't look at him the same way, therefore I can't consume the new releases from him... As for Poppy, I'm glad she was able to move forward, her sound now is soooo different from what it used to be (under Titanic's influence), it's great she's discovering her own colors and succeeding in it. As for Mars, I'm so happy she's back and fine and making music, hopefully we'll get a rebut of her old songs, something like a "Mars Argo: Brittany's version", I'd like that, because those gems cannot be forgotten and want them on every single streaming platform, she deserves it! I can't pick a top 5 right away, I love many songs from her, both old and new, so it's kinda hard to choose. Anyway, nice video and lovely music, I'll definitely check you out! Congratulations! Love from Brazil ♥️
Gotta give the dude credit, poppy and Mars Argo are both solid. That poppy tho.. I can't get enuff of her , and she picked my absolute favorite jackoff Jill song and did an incredible job covering it ! And meat is in my top 5 favorite songs of all time.
The music was a huge part of my adolescence, so I'm glad to see she's doing well again and others are giving her recognition

Nice album cover! How did you make it?
Payed someone on fiver £6 💀
I really don't care if she doesn't make music anymore as long a she lives a healthy life and is happy!

Such a good video! I'm thinking of deleting my channel so once I make a new one I'll subscribe to you

Brittany's high pitched singing is what I especially like about her.
