    Damn. I was hoping to see these on the engine.....I guess mine has the stock rocker so let's see what it does.

    I like your builds, not going to lie with being a bit dissatisfied with you returning the rockers. However, every other channel does what we all want but dont have the check book for, so I cannot blame you for doing what most of us would at home. Take care!

    Your videos are always informative and well presented. Out of curiosity have you ever compared the various types of SBF rockers? Rail style vs the stamped vs High energy roller tip vs full roller? I'm sure for high RPM durability there is no beating a full roller but I'd like to know how the other types compare and if there is a true benefit of a specific type for a street performance build?

    Ford Motorsports has/had a bolt down 1.7 rocker arm set for the Cobra 5.0. They were/are an exact replacement for the stock rocker arms. I have a new set still in the original carton.

    I was surprised how filthy those rocker arms were out of the box.

    Those look like they’re asking to be put in the milling machine to be lightened and clearanced!

    Years ago on my 83 Capri 5.0 build I used 351W heads with studs and Competition Cams roller tipped rockers (they still had a ball fulcrum) but ran into 2 problems (I don't even know if they make them anymore). One being the fulcrum would make a squeaking noise for 1000s of miles before being broken in and on 2 occasions the rockers just would go sideways and the pushrod would disengage. Popped them back over and would be ok. Went 50k miles before removing them. The heads with standard valves were worn at 50k but still driving ok unlike FE heads of mine which lasted only 4k before being completely worn out. I found out after removing shortblock that cam bearings were flaking (there was 100k on engine cam bearings). My theory is that a piece of cam bearing momentarily got caught on cam and caused brief gap which allowed rocker to go sideways. Anyone else see this?

    Awesome video Brent! I’m looking forward to the videos either way!!! 🇺🇸💪🏼 will you be sharing the specs of your cam once it’s in the engine after the Ecam?

    If it's a bolt on rocker arm with stock valve stem height you would think the stock pushrod length would be within acceptable. Stud mounted rockers generally assume more non stock dimensions.

    Before you get rid of them, experiment with some shims. Someone else already recommended to Ford shim kit, good luck, I enjoy your videos

      I am capable/able of setting the geometry up correctly, I just don’t want to. Dyno day is next Friday and I’d have to get custom pushrods and pedestal shims in here. Just not worth it.

      @@lykinsmotorsports I understand the time crunch, good luck in the dyno room. Can't wait to see your next video. Your work is top shelf.

    Try a stock rocker from the 335/385 engine familys. The factory stamped 1.73/1 are longer on the valve side than the 1.6/1 Windsors. The push rod side looks to be the same between the two.

    Those rockers might work well on a clevland or 460 build? Personally I like to have stuff on my shelf. I thought I might ask if u would sell them instead of sending them back but I don't think I can afford it at the moment.

      @lykinsmotorsports  4 месяца назад +1

      Not sure how they'd work on a 335 or 385 series. If you want them, I'll sell them to you at my cost plus shipping.

      @lykinsmotorsports thanks but no. I would like them but I don't have the extra funds at the moment with the other projects I'm currently working on. It was just a quick thought.

    😮 every time I see a rocker arm that looks like a house brick it makes me think minus quality material and heavy there's a reason why good parts cost good money for a couple of HP junk ain't worth the $.
