Bringing in the Borg saved the show, it had been getting boring, audience figures were dropping and it was considered that Voyager was done, Jeri and the Borg did save the show and it ran on for a few more seasons !
I think it was only a matter of time before they introduced a borg character seeing as they had episodes in TNG where a borg / borgs were disconnected from the collective. The Borg always were a fan favourite, plus it opened up a whole new thing for storylines where 7of9 could explore things whilst she regains or explores her "humanity" as she integrates into Starfleet (as with the EMH), similar to Data in TNG.

Not at first. It took a while for the writers to find the right balance between her 'directness' and making her human enough to be relatable. Her relationship with Naomi Wildman (the only child on the ship) did wonders for her character as Naomi looked to Seven as a role model.
Be fair, though. Her character had a long and nuanced arc throughout Voyager. By the time that little girl was d enough to speak, Seven was only on the ship a short while. While Naomi had the help of many crew members, so did Seven. Their growths into members on the ship paralleled each other well. Maybe that’s just me, though. At any rate, you might never see this comment as it’s seven years old. Heh, Seven.
The writers had some time to figure it out. Seven was, after all, only newly disconnected from the Borg Collective. She had to learn how to be human again.

😂😂😂
What else do you have that would dilate?... A vagina?
Cream Ya Panties Dilate means go larger..
It also means speak or write at length on a subjct, so raskolnikov32 might be into some savage poetry about sevens curves...
nah, human finking stronk, wheez thar best, wheez fink good
I don’t know why, but the Hirogen commander going “BEHH! BEH!!” while getting shocked has been making me laugh for like the last five minutes 😂
2:55 - Jesus Harry WTF is wrong with you?
lol he gay
TrveIrrlicht No, he's smart! He knows that by keeping in his pants, he can avoid a lot of trouble!
Those 10 seconds of incredible out-of-this-world orgasmic pleasure are just that, SHORT, so not worth it!
(applicable in real life, not just in ST)
10 seconds, man... Only a measly ten seconds... (snif)
Actor was actually gay.
You wouldn't know it by the way he reacted to the script. He even had an idea about making Harry heroic to Seven so she would eventually fall in love with him.
Small penis syndrome.
Seven takes leave of Janeway and walks out the door.
Janeway: Dismissed.
I wish Seven of Nine would have somehow met Hugh from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
I would have loved to see an episode or six where she meets Data.
@@RoxyGotMoxy. This exact situation will likely happen in the new "Picard" series, since both Data and Seven are cast members.
@@D.P.O. Data only appears in dream and memory sequences of Picard's, but she is very likely to encounter Hugh since he's in charge of The Artifact.
ChaseTerrier oh sweet child
Huh. Maybe one day
Its 2020 and i just discovered this amazing show!
you will have fun
Congratuations.. I was hooked for a while back when it was on tv lol Enjoy!
good show man, I love when nelix shows her how to eat...classic. Also her and the doc had such a good chemistry it was fun to watch. Like geordi and data, not the same thing but those 2 together you knew they were best friends :)
Can you imagine how Seven of Nine would annoy Malcolm Reynolds?
Someone needs to make a fan fiction about that scenario.
+Joshua Yes... but he would also be a bit scared of her, seeing that she can like pummel him in casual combat.
That's one thing I always loved about Mal, people could kick his butt, he wasn't superhuman.
If it was a life or death fight though I bet Mal would just empty his Volcanic into her while screaming like a little girl.
One of the best characters ever. Great compilation!
If she asked me to take of MY clothes, i would've would've spun out of them like the freakin' Tasmanian Devil! haha!
When she walked down the ships corridor it was a best moment. 🍻
the capillaries in your eyes are swollen lieutenant and i see congestion in your cheeks....are you intoxicated ?....priceless!!
No! I just saw you comming thru the door! 🤤
6:12 "The Cadaver has been sufficiently prepared" DIE-ING.
Crazy!! I'm an INTJ and she came up as an INTJ character with that type of personality and some of the things she says on here, I say in real life.
Every interaction between Seven and Tuvok throughout the series is so brilliant. They literally never disagree even if they dont like eachother because they both operate on logic. Tuvok usually has more to add to the logic, though, considering as he is "more" biological.
"This lesson is terminated." I had to laugh!
Goodness, when her hair is just a bit messed.... :P
Imagine how Jeri Ryan felt playing this character, probably the most fun she's ever had in a role.
IDK she said the initial borg outfit almost gave her a stroke b/c it compressed her carotid and she kept passing out. Also, some issues with the silver outfit being extremely uncomfortable, not to mention the tension with Kate Mulgrew.
@@maryann2970 Aye. She really did a great job bringing Seven to life given the physical constraints of her costumery and the chill work-place relationship with her 'boss'.
You do have a lousy bedside manner. Why bring it up now XD
Tom Paris, The Doctor, Tuvok and Seven were the best for the comedy.
Seven of Nine was a brilliantly-conceived, brilliantly-written and brilliantly-acted character of the Star Trek universe. Jeri Ryan was perfectly-casted for this part. Star Trek Voyager is one of my favorite Star Trek series. 😊
I saw the episode of Seven of Nine becoming a member of the crew and Kes leaving it. I must say... I welcomed the change. Seven presented a dilemma so enteristing in the finding of humanity. The different relations and banters with the crew. The humor.
Seven made Voyager a series with a new level of greatness. Like a Borg.
"loosen up babydoll..."
Seven was ready to kill Tom on the spot :P
Jeri Ryan was one fabulous looking Borg.
Just love how Seven of Nine evolves to be a fantastic being during the seasons.
Informative. Useful. Calming. Inspiring. Life-changing. Enjoyable. Heart-warming. Other.
Out of all the crew members on Voyager Sevens relationship with the Doctor was my favorite the two of them seemed to have the best chemistry I enjoyed their interactions
Absolutely brilliant!!!!
I love Seven!! And Janeway!!
The character that was intended to just be eye candy ended up being one of the best characters of the series
…and the actress that is seen at eye candy-level by most, but did such a perfect and skillful job of presenting that most facette rich character to us.
Jery Ryan surely was lucky to get to enact Seven, but she excelled at acting when doing so as well!
@@Eo_Tunun Indeed she did! I deeply enjoyed her performance!
0:45 I would have said in Seven of Nine's position: ''Cute, the word ''guilt'' coming from the galaxy's most bloodthirsty race''.
Rare interactions between Tores and Seven are intensely endearing ;)
36 of D.
Double Ds

@Chris Martin -- You mean she can only take 7 of 9 inches?
'Are you in love with me, ensign?'
"Uhhhhh...'
'Oh, so you wish to copulate?'
"NO!"
😑
I've never wanted to smack an imaginary character on an imaginary spaceship so much in my life.
6:49 Me on a party without finding somebody to talk about science.
