- As seen in the previous video - • This Beautiful BERNINA... - this beautiful Bernina 117L was seized.
Today I have a happy outcome for this lovely Bernina.
Thanks to a viewer's comment which jogged my memory as to the fact that I had accidentally only checked two of the three gear backlash settings.
It happened to be that the one set of gears I had failed to check and they were tight. This was contributing to the tightness in the machine, along with a seizing bearing.

Thank you to take time to show us nice video!
Thanks for your throughly working on these machines, and showing us how you fix them.

Now, YOU made MY day, which happens to be my birthday 😃! Glad to see and hear how that beauty is up an running again! Please don't stop filming and posting these delightfully educating and entertaining videos! Cheers to the gears! Martin
Wow! I'm thrilled to see not one, but TWO of these beauties on your desk. I have recently acquired a 117K, and in the last couple of weeks I also bought a 217...would love to see more. Congratulations on your fix!
These first-generation semi-industrial are absolute classics. Great for heavier fabrics. Met someone in the Hutt some years ago who uses them commercially to make Roman blinds.
I have the 530-2 and a Pfaff 260, after watching your video, I am considering getting 1 (or may be a second one as donor spare) since there are 3 advertised online locally. These are mechanical marvels!
Very glad to see the old girl running again. Is that a 411g in the background?
Hello, I have a BERNINA 117K, the needle position is Stucked at the left how to fix it?
The snake skin decal and bright metal embossed pattern is interesting. I have a few German Haid und Neu Sewing machines, some had that snake skin pattern.
