@chelseaclinton4535 There is thing call supply and demand and if you did economic school you would understand. However if there was no demand then investors would be building. Jamaica has to build houses for all categories such as the lower middle class or the upper middle as it's the middle class that drives all economy. Unfortunately jamaica has been building a lot of houses for the lower class and the housings scheme in Portmore is a reflection of that. The working professionals have to have housing as well. So if there was no demand then they would not be building
That's how gated community are built or setup, Richmond development, Draxhall development. I think you've never travelled to foreign before, cause that's how the place setup as well. In foreign you can't build ur own house that applies to 3rd world country and if you building mansions.
Look like a concentration camp build under the guise of homes. No community center, playground, parks, no trees. Jamaica have too uch land to be packing so much people in a small space.
It is a shame that most developments in Jamaica are gated. Which means something wrong 🤔. The answer is crime! The PM focused on development but not on crime which doesn't work in the short and long run.
Gated communities are not exclusively Jamaican. They’re communities that the working class person wouldn’t be welcomed, even in the United States oor Europe.
Beautiful development, but all Jamaican needs to know that the cost of living is increasing with population demand for houses, so no matter what NHT does, housing will be very expensive in the future.
The Minister of Housing is a short-sighted goon when it comes to housing the population. What they should do is build apartment complexes in every city and town for people to rent. They could give them to the Parish Council to manage. It would bring big revenue to the municipalities to add to their budgets. It would take the pressure off young professionals to jump into buying a house too soon. It would improve commercial life in cities and townships because people with skills and spending Power could improve the commercial life in these cities and towns if they could get proper dwellings without a house. Having traveled to a few developing countries this is the norm. This would be a win-win situation for both municipalities and dwellers
The Negativity..Smh...and most times from people who can't afford to make a purchase. If you can afford to do better then do so but leave what people can afford to buy what they can afford.

I don't think it's negativity, it's advocating. These developers are robbing people. What is the purpose of buying a house if you can't even have a nice backyard with privacy; you'll just be stuck inside. These houses are overpriced for what is being given and the developers will continue to give less and less space unless we speak up.
