Continuing on with my Spyro the Dragon series, it's time to jump into Gateway to Glimmer.. or Ripto's Rage! if you're American.
Spyo 2 was developed by Insomniac Games and released in November 1999, 14 months after the original game came out. One interesting fact that is mentioned is the origin of the game's title and the main villain's name, Ripto. In the Japanese version, Spyro's name in Katakana looks an awful lot like 'Ripto', so the developers went with it and lo and behold, we have Spyro: Ripto's Rage!
Rumour has it that the game was rushed during its development. For example, even though the homeworlds are named after the seasons, there are only three homeworlds as opposed to four. On top of this, while the first two homeworld's realms have Spyro collecting talismans, with orbs being the reward for completing side missions, the third suddenly abandons this and just shoves more orbs at him.
The story of Spyro 2 starts off with a cutscene 'in the world of Dragons.' Spyro and Sparx are running through what appears to be the Artisan homeworld from the first game. It's a rainy miserable day and Spyro remarks that the two of them really need a vacation. Lo and behold, the Dragon Shores portal is just a few feet away, so the two jump through it, ready for a relaxing sunny holiday.
Meanwhile, in the world of Avalar', Elora, Hunter, Zoe and the Professor are working on a portal in order to bring a dragon to their world. They of course succeed in bringing Spyro to Avalar, and we are then introduced to the main villain of the game - Ripto!
Avalar is split into three hubs - Summer Forest, Autumn Plains, and Winter Tundra. Summer Forest is set at day time, and is as you'd expect - a woodland with tall trees, flowing streams and a large pond which Spyro can dive into.
Autumn Plains is the next homeworld Spyro visits. It's set during the evening, and while not very 'plainy', it is definitely Autumnal; the trees are beautiful shades of gold, orange and brown, and are even shedding their leaves - one of the many nice little touches the level designers included.
Winter Tundra is the last homeworld Spyro visits, and, following the theme of the previous hubs, it's set at night. It's the smallest homeworld of the lot, set in a mountainous region and layered with patches of snow. Very little vegetation grows here apart from grass.
Once you've obtained the talismans or collected enough orbs in each of the realms, you'll be able to take on the boss of that homeworld. Summer Forest's boss is Crush, featured in Crush's Dungeon, Autumn Plains' boss is Gulp, featured in Gulp's Overlook, and Winter Tundra's boss is of course Ripto, featured in Ripto's Arena.
Insomniac Games have added a few new abilities to spice things up. Spyro is still flaming, charging, jumping and gliding his way to victory, but he can also learn to swim, climb and headbash... for a small fee of course.
Besides the talisman and orb collecting, you'll also need to hoard all those shiny gems scattered about each realm. How else are you going to keep Moneybags in the style to which he's become accustomed? Collecting the talisman, orbs and gems of every realm will award you with a 'so and so complete' animation, but if you want to be a real completionist, you can also go after the skill points. These aren't necessary to 100% the realm, they just add a bit more fun and challenge to each level.
Stewart Copeland reprised his role of composer for the music of Spyro 2, so you can expect pretty much the same thing - attack of the keyboards and drums! Nah I'm only kidding, I love the music of the Spyro games, and Stewart once again proves his genius when it comes to creating themes for specific levels.
In terms of voice work, a lot of things have changed since the first game. Perhaps the most noticeable difference is Spyro's voice. He originally had quite a nasally, whiny voice which really grated on my ears. Spyro sounds more mature this time round. Whether this signifies that some time has passed since the first game, or the devs just wanted to appeal to an older audience, it's a very welcome change.
I was quite surprised to find there were so few voice actors for so many different characters. For example, Tom Kenny voiced not only Spyro, but the Professor as well, Gregg Berger voiced Hunter, Ripto and his minions, Crush and Gulp, and Melissa Disney voiced Elora, Queen Finney and the Hippos to name just a few. I suppose if you are going to pursue a career in voice acting it pays to be able to pull off any range, accent and species.
Unlike its predecessor, Spyro 2 was a huge success from the get go. Following the same formula let people familiar with the series know what to expect, while not throwing newcomers into the deep end with overly complicated controls, and the addition of mechanics such as mini games and skill point chasing gave more hard core gamers a challenge. Игры
14 months does NOT sound like a lot of time to develop a game, even when reusing assets and for a PS1 game. o_o So it's freaking amazing that Spyro 2 turned out as well as it did.
I agree! Insomniac Games is definitely a fitting name for them. xD
@@ToridoriGaming did they say in the end credits for the 3rd game that they spent many "sleepless nights" working on it.
I do wish they would've taken a little more time to add a 4th homeworld.
Mystic Marsh is definitely one of the best Spyro levels ever made, I mean it had snail rhinos.
I love the noise when you hit them - ARGGHHH!
Who knew that the dying scream of a snail rhino could evoke such nostalgia.
And it has the sound clip of a random peacock playing in the background--I had no idea that was a freaking PEACOCK
The snailephants were pretty cool too.
So it turns out the existence of a fourth hub world to coincide with the missing season was a myth. There were never any plans for a fourth hub world to begin with. There were probably plans for more realms however.
Ripto only had two henchmen, after all.
5:23 fun fact, the name Bryan is printed onto the walls in summer forest and winter tundra. I think this was a tribute to a child of one of the developers. The name Brenda is also visible in winter tundra. Being that my name is Bryan, I’ll never forget how freaked out/excited I was when I saw my name in the game
I can't believe how long it took me to see 'BRYAN'. It was so obvious when I found it... xD
Spyro 2 was the best game in my opinion. The home worlds were so beautiful and relaxing thanks to the meditative music
Autumn Plains, I love chilling there. :)
@@ToridoriGaming that was my favourite one too! Although I wouldve loved to have seen a spyro 4(developed by insomniac games only!) , I am greatful enough to see the 3 original games remade for the ps4 which I am definitely looking forward to getting tomorrow.
This SPYRO is the best game ever
But but, Year of the Dragon!
15:33 I actually became angry all of a sudden. TROUBLE WITH THE TROLLEY EH???
>:)
That was a terrible level on my first playthrough. It was only slightly less terrible the secpnd playthrough.
I was actually never angry at that mini game 😂 I know it sucks that you have to get them all again after crashing but to me it was fun
Zephyr is one of my favorite levels in the series.
Also, Active camera mode was available in Spyro 1 as well.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?
I was stupid lost my password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
@Anderson Ayaan Instablaster =)
@Willie Jensen thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process now.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Willie Jensen it worked and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out!
@Anderson Ayaan happy to help :)
Bit late to this but; Winter Tundra, being the last hub world, was made in a way so that the player can go into whichever realm they wanted, and do which quests in them they liked, just to get enough orbs for Ripto's lair. They had decided this from the get go :]
I never thought about that :D
Source?
Sunny Beach, Hurricos, Aquaria Towers, and Zephyr in 4k??! Oh boy here we go...
*unzips*
Don't forget the tissues!
Spyro 2 was never planned to have a Spring homeworld, it was confirmed.
Fair enough!
That always pissed off my OCD self lol
I used to play this game and Year of The Dragon whenever I was sick as a child because my parents would let me take our PS1 into my room when I was ill. Amazing memories
Good parents too!
You forgot that the Hurricos guys are voiced by Tom Kenny. They sound exactly like Spongebob too.
*insert Spongebob laugh* :D
08:50 - That one nearly made me spit out the Piece of Pizza I had in my mouth. Love your humour
Share the pizza! :D
I would but unfortunately that Pizza is long gone :D
I know this is kind of an old video now, but in a livestream recently on Insomniac's official Twitch account, some of the original developers of the game confirmed they always had in mind three home worlds for Spyro 2 and not four, so the notion of Spyro 2 being rushed is kind of deflated, although there may be other aspects they didn't divulge that may have made the third home world at least feel like it was rushed.
It's so weird though given there are 4 seasons and they only made 3 worlds based on it. Fair enough though if they've confirmed it. I wonder sometimes if they did run out of time but they just say that was how it was planned so it doesn't look bad on their part. :P
Toridori I don't think they have any reason to lie 20 years after the game was made, they're pretty much a totally different studio now. Although I suppose there can never be 100% certainty. I'll agree though that Winter Tundra could of had more content, and the fight against Ripto could have been harder to get to.
Aye, in my livestream last night I defeated Ripto before even starting any of Winter Tundra's worlds... xD
Do you know which steam/episode that was?
Zephyr was so off the wall and funny. It was this odd Saturday morning cartoon "its war!" Level and I loved how creatively stupid it was. Didn't take itself too seriously.
Mah name is Little Bo Peep... and I have lost mah Cowleks!
ive played my second copy of ripto so much that the audio cuts in and out and it sounds like all the characters are either forgetting their lines or cursing at you. when the audio cuts out entirely, that part with romio and Juliet, she didn't say anything except a mr Herbert "oh" when flying... glitches rock
Spyro 2 was the second 3D platformer I played as a kid. My dad bought me and my siblings a PS1 and bought a few used games for us to play. Croc: Legend of Gobbos was the first 3D game I ever played and it was fun, although I was a kid and didn't know what I was doing. I loved Spyro 2, almost beat it as a 10 year old but gave up at Ripto. I remember asking the one kid at school who had internet at the time(probably in '00) to print me out a guide book, in which he returned with a list of cheat codes. My uncle modded my PS1 in either '99 or '00 so it could play burnt games, which was awesome for my parents (not having to pay full price for games anymore) it did mean newer games wouldn't work on my PS1(early DRM). We bought Spyro 3 and tried to play in on my PS1 and it started up with a message reading "You are possession of and illegally modified console. Call -insert 800 number here- and receive a free T-shirt. Safe to say I didn't play Spyro 3 until we got a PS2 a few years later, although it was fun having a library of over 60 games to choose from on the PS1 as a kid. Looking back as a 28 year old, I really wish we never gave away that PS1 because to do that today is either hard work or expensive. Plus I'd like to have a look inside to see exactly what they did.
They never intended a 4th home world to make up for there being no spring world they added flowers to glimmer
Your comments on Spyro's blood lust on the speedways had me dying. lmao
Why does he murder all those innocent people though!? D:
@@ToridoriGaming the original spyro games have been remade for the ps4
Spyro 2 was my first Spyro game and my favourite from the series, is pretty much the only one I tend to replay even today. I really cant wait for the rumored remake/remaster to, once more, replay this wonderful game! Good job, the video is really well done and your voice is fantastic!
Thank you Fuoko, I really appreciate the kind words. I hope this remake does happen else I'll be so disappointed! D:
"I really enjoyed Clancy Brown gruff voice bark commands at me."
That's how I feel 24/7 when it comes to Clancy in all honesty.
Yesssss, I need more Clancy in my life!
I liked Zephyr, my second favorite realm after Colossus.
Why do you like it, just out of curiosity? I never liked the enemies or the environment! :D
I mostly liked the NPCs and the music. Except for a few part with the cowleks the missions were fun.
I'll agree with the music, it's one of my fave tracks in the game. :)
I have to second this; I liked the level a lot. BUT I also loved the cowlek missions. XD Nice vids so far, Tori, looking forward to more! So you got my sub. I'm very curious what you will say about the third game's music and the different tracks used in different game versions. And I already can't wait for the mountain of salt that Enter the Dragonfly will be~ x'D Will you also cover the Skylanders series? I honestly don't think they belong into the Spyro "realm" - he's basically a different character in those games. The Legend Of Spyro games at least somewhat kept him alive with making him the main character. But in the Skylanders series they just used his name in the first title for cash grabbing. :T Also; will you talk about the GBA games?
Sorry for the long comment and those many questions, I just really enjoyed these videos. x3
My name is little bo peep. And I have lost my cowlicks
Cloud temples music was beautiful! My favourite track
Hurricos, Aquaria Towers, and Magma Cone were pretty good realms.
Hurricos for the Electrolls!
Those were great. I also enjoyed Skelos Badlands, Shady Oasis, Mystic Marsh, and Fracture Hills in addition to those you named. They were all so iconic!!
Fantastic video!! That Moneybags compilation was very funny xD My favourite world in the whole game is Zepher lol
Thank you! Maybe my judgement was wrong on Zephyr, maybe I'm the only one that hates it.. :D
To me all the creatures and creativity if each world was just great
How could I hate Zephyr?? It has my favorite bird enemy that screams “COCK” when you kill him
It.. does? o__o
Toridori Yeah the big ones that throw the TNT barrels, listen to their death sound
Cannot un-hear! xD
Toridori I’m glad I brought you a bit of joy to your least favorite level
Spyro 2 might be my favorite game of all time and the one I've played and completed the most. All due to being the first video game I played lol
Nostalgia is extremely powerful, much more if the thing is good on its own and the events happening around you at the time were great. Awesome video essay! :'D
Thank you Balta, I'm glad you liked the video! When I first played Spyro 2 it was an awesome experience, especially as they improved upon so much since Spyro 1. But Spyro 3 will always be my fave because I love the extra characters. :D
Dexter Morgan I know dude, I can't wait to play it!
There was actually an interview done with a developer that said that they never had planned to do 4 homeworlds despite the seasons theme.
4:51 - That editing was crazy! Well done.
Thank you! It's a really short part of the video but took me over half an hour to line it all up, glad you noticed. :D
I can imagine. I was like, "Wow, that must've taken ages." It was really cool, though.
I am loving this series so far! The mix of humor and facts is great, and you clearly love doing this, so that makes it even more enjoyable to listen to. Keep up the great work!
Thank you Garrulous! Who doesn't love reliving childhood games? :D
Toridori I'm holding off on watching your Spyro 3 History video since i'm streaming it myself atm. It's been a couple years since my last 100% so I want rediscover it myself first. Though i'll be back to watch after i'm done!
No problem, let me know if it scratches that nostalgic itch for you!
You did an amazing job on this and the first one! Great footage, great editing skills, great script, and great voice.
Thank you so much Frustrate! :D
Those metal sharks always freaked me out as a kid. And that glitch wouldve made it worse!
The glitch is horrifying, isn't it? Nowhere is safe. :D
2 decades later im still terrified of those mechanical sharks.
The fact they can glitch and chase you on land... sends shivers down my spine. D:
I can't wait for the remake to come out that nostalgic feeling will probably be enjoyed throughout playing the games, if you could you totally should do a playthrough of the games then. Anyway another awesome video xD I'm sorry I haven't commented in a while. It's always nice watching you Tori
If the remake does happen I will most likely lets play it because I love the trilogy! And np Ratchet, life gets in the way and stuff. :)
"Trouble with trolly eh?" GGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH I don't remember how many times I did that level... (that was the second to last thing I did)
This belongs on a list of annoying Spyro moments, along with yeti boxing and the first battle with Red in A Hero's Tail. xD
9:12 *Wow!* That shot is *GORGEOUS!* 😃💜💙💛🧡🤍
Winter Tundra is so pretty :)
This is my #1 childhood game and I'm glad you did a great tidbit on it. Game never felt rushed to me, didnt know it was haha. Now I'm just waiting on the trilogy!
Me too, I'm so excited!
TROUBLE WITH THE TROLLEY EH
The memories.. I thought I blocked them out for good!
The reason I remember playing this game, was because it was the first one I ever beat when I was a kid (followed by Year of the dragon a few months later), I felt so accomplished. And no I'm super excited to see how the remastered version of this one is gonna look!
Me too, want to see what they do with some of my favourite levels! Imagine something like Mystic Marsh with its weird colours and enemies in HD? :D
Im binging all of your Spyro vids. Im quite suprised this games had only 14 months after the first games. The characters are what put this game over the first for many people. Elora, Hunter, the professor and even Moneybags after this game basically became staples in the lore and world of Spyro. Also the bosses were a welcome addition to Spyro as well. But people who prefer the collecting part of Spyro didn't like the mission based objectives
I looove your videos. This is exactly what I needet. I'm a really big spyro fan and love ev'ry single one of the three games.
Thank you for the kind words! :)
_For the trilogy they should add more levels for Sypro 2 and actually make the 4th world [Spring Breeze] that they always wanted_
Was that what it was originally going to be called? :o
Spring Breeze sounds like a laundry detergent scent tbh
@@ToridoriGaming I'm late to this but no - the developers have said they never intended to do a "Spring" world, just that they can understand why people would think that.
@@justthecoolestdudeyo9446 it actually does 🤣 or even an air freshener
This was such a fun and interesting video. I think Spyro 2 is overall my favorite of the original trilogy and really cannot wait to play through it again in the Reignited Trilogy.
Just watched this and spyro 1. These videos are fantastic you deserve more subs
Thank you, supersaloomy! :D
Your realm descriptions are just so on point, amazing. Really like your analyses of the trilogy, can’t wait for the Reignited Trilogy!
AHHH I'm so excited for the Reignited Trilogy especially after seeing the preview gameplay of Toasty and Tree Tops. The game looks absolutely gorgeous, plus they got Tom Kenny back as the voice of Spyro. :D
Toridori Tom Kenny is indeed the best and I’m even more excited than last year for the N Sane Trilogy!
yeah, i think for the OG ps1 spyros, 2 might be my fave. def had the best final boss fight!
I absolutely love the original Spyro trilogy as a whole, but Spyro 2 was by far the one I played the most when I was a kid, and is probably my favourite out of all three originals. Great video Tori!
Awesome video, I think Gateway to Glimmer is a nicer name but Ripto’s Rage has a much better logo design. I also never saw that robo shark glitch, the scariest thing for me in Spyro 2 as silly as it sounds is probably the sound that plays if Agent Zero spots you
Ripto's Rage is a better title and logo, I agree! :)
I know these videos are quite old but I've enjoyed watching them. I have to say though, as someone who immediately dropped Spyro 2 as a kid because I was terrified of those sharks, that glitch would have given me nightmares.
Anyway these Spyro videos were great and even though they're old I have to subscribe, these were fantastic.
A spring home world was never planned
*8:49* lmao that is amazing, way to set that up, it caught me totally off-guard
Great video there
Why thank you :D
It's so fresh to see so many people hyped for Reignited that they're celebrating and talking about this series again. Growing up I didn't know a lot of kids who loved this series or even knew about. Everyone else was playing Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Ocarina of time, Metal Gear Solid, or Resident Evil. Spyro was a big part of my childhood.
I think I was one of the few kids in my class who didn't play anything like Mario or LoZ when I was younger. It was Spyro and Crash for me so I feel you. Though I did play Dino Crisis a lot which is basically RE but with dinosaurs. :D
Toridori I really liked Dino Crisis too :D cant wait to see the rest of this Spyro retrospective you're doing!
I think it was a stream or something, but I remember them saying that they intended Glimmer as the intro level to be the big Spring themed level, and they only intended to have three homeworlds. Of course the game was still rushed in the end, but oddly enough if they just gave Glimmer a Spring themed name it would've resolved that issue. :P
For story, I'm surprised you didn't mention the epilogue, especially since it's your reward for getting all of the skill points. Also speaking of music samples, Gulp's Overlook is literally everywhere. Like, it even was reused in Ripto's boss theme in Enter the Dragonfly, and someone actually made a video showing how much it's been used and the actual samples used to make that part.
This video was a bit short as it was back when I worried people didn't want long videos, hence why a few things got missed out. And I never knew that about Glimmer! Was that the Spyro stream they did a while back that they said it in? :)
Ah that's fair. And I believe it was that stream, yeah
The best spyro game!
YotD is still my favourite but this one is awesome too! :)
Yotd is good, but for me the 2 is the best followed by Thedragon "Nasty Norc y Ripto" pff awesome villains + game music :)
I'm not convinced that there was a fourth Spring world, because who would be the boss? Would Ripto have a third minion? Just how I see it
It was the sheep fodder all along!
Excellent. Really enjoyed both documentaries, now to watch the third!
And they only get longer from here on! :D
Spyro is also a *HUGE* part of my childhood, preteen years, teen years and even *adult years!* I guess I should just say that they’re a *big* part of my (gaming) life. 😊👌 💜
When i hear Colossus i think "WHY YI YI YUM"
'Hey, look what I can do! -- WHY YI YI YUM!'
Me and my sister would chant that to each other ALL THE TIME and it would annoy my poor mother to pieces 😅😆
Excellent video Toridori. I love how much depth you go into these Spyro history videos. Very insightful and intriguing. You have such a lovely voice too. Thank you so much for sharing these! I’m about to watch the next one now! :D
Thank you for watching Jayden! This is definitely the most detailed I've ever gone on a video, took me so long but was fun to make. Maybe I should do these gaming history videos more often. :)
Love your content and presentation Tori! ❤️
Just wanted to say thanks for the video, I grew up on Spyro the dragon and always enjoy playing and hearing about it. I honestly can't wait to see if the rumors about the remake/remaster are true. Which I hope to god is true, I can honestly say Spyro is probably the most played game I own and always love going back and playing them. Keep up the great work and I look forward to the next video on Year of the Dragon.
Aww you're welcome, I'm glad I could bring back those childhood memories of Spyro for you. :)
I think it's more than likely to happen as the Crash Bandicoot remake was such a massive success.. at least I hope it will!
It was recently confirmed that there was actually never a spring homeworld planned.
This is my favorite game in the trilogy.
It's pretty good, in some ways I prefer it over 3 even if 3 is my favourite. :)
@@ToridoriGaming I just didn't enjoy other playable characters in the the third game. Gateway to Glimmer was also the first Spyro game I played so there is also the nostalgia factor.
Spyro 3 fixes and addresses all of the blatant issues Spyro 2 had. Pacing, progression structure, and level design.
Great series of videos
Thank you! :)
Hunter is afraid of everything? Is this the same Hunter that fights crime in Metro Speedway, scuba dives and trains manta rays, shoots down earthshapers with a bow and arrow, stands on a cliff next to a large pool of lava to play with his remote controlled airplane, flies around with makeshift wings doing competitions, and flying around Ripto's arena to drop orbs? If anything he's too much of a daredevil!
In all seriousness though, great video!
I don't give him enough credit, clearly... 😂
Thanks for watching!
There was never intended to be a fourth world. The developers of a fangame, spring savannah, got in touch with old Insomniac devs and they said they intended Glimmer to be the spring area, but a fourth hub was never even planned.
This was a really good video good job can't wait for the next one
Thank you! :D
this series of videos is so charming, I love it.
Thank you John, I'm flattered! :)
this is a good game
Another great video, leaking with information!
This one was definitely fun to watch.
Can't wait for your Spyro: YOTD video :)
Thank you Caprice! I'm really excited to play YOTD, I just hope I can get it running on an emulator as I know it has some sort of piracy protection built in that stops you completing the game! :O
Fun fact: The song for Gulp's Overlook is stock music that Copeland put his twist on. The original track can be heard in video games dating back to 1996, and even in Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1998
These are excellent Tori. Keep doing videos like this please. Maybe another Shenmue 3 one as well please lol.
Thank you Paul! Shenmue 3 is looking good, but those face animations need work hehe. Maybe I will do another video on it. :)
Cool! Yes, hopefully come this years E3, Shenmue 3 will get another trailer with decent Facial animation this time.
Very well-written commentary, and nice voice btw, great job
Thank you, kind sir! What makes you critical of onions if you don't mind me asking? :)
Well, I love onions actually. I grow them and write some songs about them. Onions just get a bad rep due to the whole smell and tear-jerking qualities of them. The grocery stores of the US also give onions an unappealing presentation and thus many people are not fans. Onions have potential however, and the ones I grow, I push to their limit, sometimes being a bit critical of them, hence my RUclips name...
Onions are badass, can't have a dish without onions. Red onions in particular, ooooh they're so good!
Right this is random but, I'm well merry right now needed some old school nostalgia, thought of spyro then thought of watching a review then spending like 40 mins looking for this one cause you got a chill relaxing no try hard voice, soooo thanks for that, hope you are still making chill vids baby cake, gonna relax to this vid, keep it up :)
that pencil had better be fucking awesome
Maybe it never goes blunt!
There's a small development team working on a spring world for Spyro 2.
In defense of the accents you would expect some really odd ones that sound odd to us when travling through to an alternative dimention where dragons exist speak english and so do alot of anthropromorphic animals speak it.
You make a fair point!
Wonderfully crafted, and the length is right
Toys For Bob should add the small cutscenes to the beginning and end of all of the levels in the games of the reignited trilogy.. it would be a nice touch!
Seeing some new cutscenes for Spyro 1 and 3 also would be amazing!
Please don't cut any of part 3's script! I'm not sure if you're just worried about having to edit a longer video, or if you think the video will be too long for the audience. If it's the latter, I think any Spyro fan would agree the longer the better! If not, if you ever feel like doing a part 4, you could go over the things you cut from previous scripts maybe? Keep it up, I think I've watched all the Spyro retrospective/history videos on RUclips and this series is by far the best!
Thank you so much Daniel! It was both reasons really - I am worried about having a long video to edit (because I'm lazy hehe), but also worried people will get bored midway. But if you think people wouldn't mind, I'll make them longer, maybe give the realms proper descriptions etc. Is mine really the best you've watched? :D
Don't push yourself, but I would bet the majority of people watching would actually really enjoy if you went even more in depth! I think yours is the best because your love for the games is super apparent, so it wraps all the interesting information in a cosy blanket lol. Also your editing is suuuper smooth!
I've really gone into depth this time on the third game like you said, currently writing script as we speak. The realms are in full detail and I'll also talk about some of the mini games in as much detail. I think I might make a top 5 list after this as well.. top 5 best and worst mini games! :D
YESSSS, I honestly can't wait! I think your channel could really take off if you continued with these formats, it's genuinely rare to find someone with all the essential qualities required for videos like these. Again, can't wait! ps bamboo terrace first person shooter egg in worst mini games pls, my childhood will thank you.
pps. maybe a video about your thoughts on the Spyro remakes? Yano, if you don't have enough work on your hands... loool
*"Trouble with the trolley eh?"*
I hope they keep that line in the remake! 😂
Toridori Me too! It's so iconic and rage inducing 👌🏻
Really interesting videos, thank you! New sub gained!
Thank you, Jimmy! :)
Love this 😁😄
It took me ages to write so I'm glad you love it! The third one is taking me even longer.. 😂😂😂
Spyro the Dragon series was the reason I had A PlayStation or PS1 back then still play Spyro games every time I put the PS1 on
They're one of the few games I still pick up and play regularly, even after all these years. Thanks for watching! :)
My favorite Spyro game
Me neither until I researched it. Thanks for watching! :D
Great video and healing voice
Thank you!
Great video! As far as i understand. Zephyr is one there people are really split. Someone abselutely love it, some can't stand it. I am personally im boat with those who think it's one of the best realms in the trilogy.
For me, the atmosphere is really strong, the layout is unique, and just huge. The cowleck challenge can get a little boring, but at the same time really satisfying, i love the seed challenge! The music is also probaly my favourite in the game. The enemies seems to be annoying to many, but i find them to be a fun challenges:)
Great video. You forgot to mention Dragon Shores bonus level (probably it was a rushed level too). Can't wait for Spyro 3 video. It was a pleasure hearing you, you have a fantastic voice! :)
Thank you Kacper! I didn't want to talk about Dragon Shores in case someone watching has never played Spyro 2. :D
Y'oure awosome!
So pleasue to watch
Waitng for the next video :)
Thank you so much Avi! :D
How can you say that about Zephyr it's my most favourite level in the entire franchise
I'm sorry! D:
It's so weird and bizarre...but it strangely fits together
The rushed theory does make a lot of sense. I always wandered why there were only 64 orbs not 70' 80 or even 100.
And the large amount of realms in Autumn Plains compared to Winter Tundra!
Fracture Hills was my favorite level
Music can calm the savage beast, and bagpipe music can break solid rock!
The bagpipe was always my favorite part lol Loved the tune "ruclips.net/video/um1ARWg1TVg/видео.html"
Very good videos! 😊👍
Thank you Zylice!
Toridori You’re welcome Tori. You deserve more credit! 😊
Nice job!
Thank you! Rose! :D
Great video really love the nostalgia trips and facts I never knew about my childhood games. My disk of this game has a tiny scratch and crashes every time I get to the final hub world area :'( never played the third game in the trilogy because I didnt beat this one.
Aww that sucks! I wish I had taken better care of my PS1 games as a kid, I had to throw most away as they were scratched. The third game is my personal fave so I'm looking forward to playing that one!
You don't really have to play the second one fully to understand the third! It's not really connected other than that Spyro keeps the Atlas book thing and possibly some references I don't remember. Definitely worth a play.
I love your voice! :D
Thank you! :3
Cant wait to see the next video :D
Thank you! :)
17:00 I hate you for that. I recently went through the game and GAH! THIS LINE!!!
I couldn't resist!
Many minutes were spent trying to conquer the Agent Zero minigame... that said I used to wonder if there was any correlation between Agent Nine and Agent Zero, that would have been pretty cool.
I hate his derpy voice and having to listen to it over and over again! Uhhhh....
Someone should put "Trouble with the trolly, eh?" and "I'm not leaving unless you wait behind the tree" on a tshirt. You could be a walking nightmare of dodgy nostalgia!
