Take the word of an old geezer who has been there and done that. Nothing can kill a relationship faster than DIY remodeling a house. You only have your two lives to live but you will have many jobs during those lives. Don't become slaves to a house or a job. Find out what the two of you want to do and go do it, even if it means taking some financial losses. Hire someone to finish the remodel or sell the house to someone who wants it as is. Go live your lives. EDIT: I commented before I saw your tour. You guys have done a great job so far. STOP where you are and take a vacation, renew your relationship, and get your lives back on track. Everything else I said still stands.
Looks like you two are on the right track. Stay strong and soon you will be done and able to focus on what Andy was talking about. Ya know the hunting and fishing thing.
I am a semi retired licensed HVAC tech and now full time factory maintenance man. I'm also head of a Active Shooter Management & Hostage Rescue Team for a U.S. Government DoD contractor in that same factory. I could have told anyone that from the get go and start. Things like that aren't "fun" it's always a JOB! I'd always rather be out with my guns, knives, reloading, bullet casting, fishing, hunting, camping, guitars/music etc etc. Ask anyone who is a licensed professional tradesman and "handyman" on the side or after hours is the last thing you want to be doing with your time off. I get roped/suckered into all kinds of side projects after hours by my coworkers and it consumes way too much of my free time. There are many weeks that I am working 7 days a week and long hard 15+ hour days when you combine everything together. Just because you know how to do a lot of different things doesn't mean you really want to. My ultimate goal is to get back down to only doing HVAC repairs after hours and on the side. That's where I shine the most doing the most good because hardily any of them are any good or honest anymore. If a 12 year old unit has a simple problem and bad part they want to condemn it for replacement of the entire unit. Nobody wants to troubleshoot or repair anything these days anymore. It's a combination of not being trained properly, being lazy and just being a salesman crook out to screw over people. You can find someone else less qualified to do all the "handyman" easy crap like basic plumbing, electrical, painting, climbing on the roof and sealing leaks etc etc etc.
@@bdacolt6941 Oh yeah...then comes the part where if you aren't a professional and licensed you find out you did things against local and Federal building codes that aren't correct or right. You will have to tear it all back out and pay someone to redo it who is qualified and licensed with the proper permits. We were on the mechanical board and knew ALL the codes whether they pertained to HVAC or not. We were in business from 1912 - 2017 so it was a hot minute or two. My boss died of a massive heart attack still working full time at age 72. His widow was 70 herself and wanted out. I'm out of a job after decades of working there. I see this newspaper ad looking for someone who has practically every skill in the book that pays very well. HVAC check, electrical check, plumbing check, carpentry check, machine shop tool & die check, mechanic for anything with a engine check, welding check, custom fabrication and design check check.....the list goes on and on. They called me 1 1/2 hours later after I filled out a application and wanted to interview me right away. That was almost 7 years ago now and still going very well.
I'm a mountain man in tennessee. I worked in the concrete jungle for years. Now I'm back in the woods where I belong. Good luck in the city. Ur gonna need it
My wife and I decided.....for some reason years ago to build a house from the gound up. Not contract it, build it with help from friends and family. The thought was to save on interest and debt. It was a crazy ride. Our second house was one we'd planned to remodel one room at a time. Shortly after we finished the last room we had a fire and lost it. So when we replaced it.....we bought a modular and had it delivered and set up. I built the rear deck but otherwise, no more handy man stuff for us. Chin up guys. You'll get there and be stronger for it. The house is looking great.
Take care of yourself. When you and Andy take breaks in the house work, get outside as much as possible. Hope things turn around in your head space. Reno's take a LOT of patience. Best wishes!
Glad to see you back. We’ve been missing you. Hope you guys get finished up and get settled in where you are happy soon! Can’t wait to see you making happy videos out hunting and fishing! The work yall have done so far is looking pretty darn good.👊🏻 Take care and keep us updated as you can.❤
You bought it!... you fixed it... now it's yours!... rent it, sell it, use it as you like!... all you need is two cabins, one on a mountain and one by the sea... and maybe a caravan to ''go places''...
I hope that man knows how very lucky he is to have a gem like you! The stresses will pass hang in there and I hope your dreams come true Heidi cuz you deserve it ❤
Your a regular human being. We all have ups and downs. This is life, and your not alone. Keep on keeping on.. Life is short. Do what makes you happy within reason. Stay strong and most of all, make time for a workout few times a week and take care of yourself 💪.
Pack here sweetie. Just know pack don’t care what’s going on. We just want to be with you and get some luv from you and give love back. Luv you girl 🥰🥰🥰
Life is taken in steps and sometimes it’s 3 steps backwards to go 1 step forward. You two do what’s right for you, that’s what’s important; family etc will take care of itself. I always watch and like your videos but I don’t always comment. But anyhoo I love you two and I like being part of the Wolfpack. God bless.👊🏻🙂
I see a story of patience, fortitude, and generosity. Good on both of you. Many of us go through this. As I go through life and these challenges present themselves, I take a moment to appreciate that I pass on happiness and comfort to the next person or family.
Missed you Heidi glad your doing ok. God throws curve balls from time to time. As long as you continue to have faith and confidence you will accomplish what you put your mind too. Stay strong and keep your head up. You have been such a huge inspiration to myself and I love all your videos. Looking forward to more of your adventure and fishing videos!!! God bless
Valuable lessons! Sounds like you guys are living a normal life (shit happens to all of us) building character. Most of us have gone through it. Reach down, find that strength and patients, as you don't really have a choice. You will be surprised what you are capable of dealing with. Keep your faith in yourselves, reach past the desperation to find the thing you need to keep going. For me it was patience. Keep going, you will get through it. Then you will be the wise ones offering advice to others. Endeavor to persevere. Take a break and come back to it with a new (better attitude). Just suck it up and get r done. lesson learned. That's how we grow...
Love you guys!! It's all going to be ok. It may not seem like it now, but it will! Just keep doing the work and hold on to each other. I've been watching you for years, Heidi! I'm not going anywhere and neither is anyone else on your channel. Peace...
There's a light at the end of this loooong tunnel of renovation but YOU GOT THIS! I'm glad your doggies bring a smile and distraction. Keep the treats flowing and they'll love unconditionally. Tight lines
Oh, we missed you so much but we knew you would come back when you were ready. We actually thought remodeling was being tough on you (we did it years ago so we know). You definitely have to get away from it and do other things as well. Anyway, hugs to you and we were so happy to see the video today. ❤
Heidi, deal with life one small step at a time. We love you as you are. Not everything in life is great. There are hard times. The measure of ourselves is how we deal with the hard times. Take breaks, chip away at it, and you guys will get there if you pull together. Much love to you both.
Guys...you are definitely over thinking it... You are both young with so much time in front of you......embrace your youth and power and DO NOT discount it. You are both children of the universe and you are here for a reason. The content that you have been providing is inspiring for so MANY people. Please continue to search for your purpose....it is there and the power is in you...the seasons are just that, SEASONS, there are always Winters before Springs.....
Heidi and Andy ,Enjoy the Good the Bad and the Ugly because this time you all spend together is part of Growth this will Humble you and make you both Love each other even more. Prayers for Better Days !
As the old saying goes, "only a baby like's "change". Change can be scary but through it all, growth and new understandings and self belief are replenished. After watching this channel over the last couple of years, I can honestly say, that you've had your fair share of changes and challenges Heidi. You've weathered them all with class and dignity. You and Andy will land on your feet, back on the coast, really soon! Wishing you both all of the best and thanks for the update! I can't wait for some speckled trout and redfish videos!! lol!
Everybody goes through shit in life you guys. We all make mistakes then think wtf was I thinking. Love watching you both and look forward to seeing more videos of you all back in your element when you come out the other side of this tunnel. Love and light to ya 💪
My grandmother is 93 an jusy last week she told me Do what makes you happy.. take you a break if you need too.. The place looks great..Ya'll have each other, bunch of great looking dogs, nice house.. Don't let that stuff get you to down. Thanks for the updates
Life is always full of challenging changes. A decade ago, I was a professional hunting guide. Now I'm self employed, thanks to a software development job I had a few years ago, thinking I want to move to the deep South and take up construction. Lol never know where life will take you, just keep at it. You two got this
This is exactly what I'm going through but my story is different and it's insane how much i can relate with this video and how relieved I feel that someone out there is experiencing and feeling the same way
I have to agree with the remodel stress idea...you 2 are outdoor worshippers who are in their element with nature...and thats outdoors doing whatever sets you free...yall are way too good together and the love you have for each other will win out...but in good ole OBX!!! Call some friends and have a remodel weekend. Get a trusted contractors advice on remodel ideas that will work on that house and let them give you both some peace of mine...or pack a bag and fishing pole and head to the beach for a weekend to clear your heads. That darn house will be there when you get back! All the luck and success to you both...Tuna anyone!
And your a credit union do so. You’ve helped my little girl understand that aspects of nature. Just haven’t seen much of you lately. But will try and catch up. SEMPER FI
Hey you 2 looks like yall are making good progress on the house. Don't worry about the renovation blues it's part of it and that house is a big project. Hang in there and keep working hard and most of all be patient. Completion day will finally come. High 5's to both of you.
Hoping and praying that you get to a better place ❤ life can be so hard at times but faith and love will see you through the worst of times ❤ God bless !
I’ve lived all of my life in mountains of NC but we recently bought a place on Albemarle sound for retirement that is my heaven on earth. So ready to move there full time. I’m 63 my my wife is 44 my stepdaughter is 13 now when she decides what she wants to do full time after she graduates from high school lord welling we be moving there full time I’m ready now but have to wait till she decides what she want to do. Absolutely love y’all’s channel y’all rock. I’m a big time bass fisherman but trying to learn to fish on the Albemarle sound ❤
Take this as a learning experience. You learned what you don't want, and what you do want. Sounds like you guys should start a homestead, and homestead channel. Growing and harvesting your own food and doing the things you love.
Morning (in New Zealand) pack leader. In all honesty I have missed quite a videos, You never struck me as a person who could live in a city. You have tried a change, didn't like it so move back to where you are happiest, in the woods and fishing. Best wishes from New Zealand 🇳🇿
The both of you should not blame yourselves or anyone else. We a ll go through times of struggle and or bad decisions. Just remember that you love each other and you are gonna make it through this. Live and learn it made you both who you are today. Remember God had this all planned out for you both and keep praying. Can't wait to see some more fishing videos but you will get there soon enough. Love the channel and glad to see you both in good health
It is really good that you you have the money to endure yhis life learning storm. It is good for you two to experience this House renovation and to stick together through it. That speaks volumes for what a strong relationship you have
Heidi and Andy. Sorry for all y'all have been through. Just keep on pushing forward, keep being there for each other. Andy choices are made and lessons learned there is no blame in that. I don't know if y'all have ever read Footprints in the Sand but it's a good read. Y'all be safe, be well and may God Bless y'all and guide you to much happiness!!
I live in Phoenix, Arizona....talk about CITY!! Every chance I get I escape to the high country for camping and fishing...brings balance to the city and freeway insanity.
Been there done that. My wife and I left Tennessee to be closer to our aging parents who all lived up in our hometown in Ohio. We bought a house and she ended our 11 year marriage 3 months later. That was in 1994 and my life still sucks here in Ohio. Never should have left the woods. Praying for you guys. And I'm here to stay. I started following your journey when you were considering fixing up the old farmhouse.
Maybe a good idea to fix it up and sell it, especially if you can break even or mitigate loses. Best of wishes to you & Andy, I think he made the right decision leaving the job hopefully this is a chapter of life you look back and know you did the right thing for yourselves.
I'm another old geezer and I agree with John... The house is a pink elephant,,, I started following you when you were making artificial bait, and you were happy. Now you got Andy . North Carolina fix me it'll fix you and Andy. Get back to the coast for you two were happy..❤❤
I'm still here after all these years following you. I know all about gpoing down a path that you never planned and it all ends up stressful. I like everyone else believed I was going to get married and have a normal life like everyone else. But it didnt turn out that way. Instead I ended up taking care of my mom most of my life. Sometimes you have no choice but to go through what some may call "Tests " in life.
Hey Lil Red, first off, glad to see you’re back! I’ve been a subscriber to your channel for a long time and I enjoy your hunting/fishing videos. I don’t know you personally, but I’m 1:28 into your video and can diagnose your feelings you’re having here… Correct me if I’m wrong here, but you’re letting this house project stuff get to you too much. First off, get everything rigged up where it works and is functional, and then take some time to go fishing or get into the woods or do something you enjoy. Set 2 days a week to go enjoy your time and the other days, work on the other. You’ll feel better! The crappie are biting right now, y’all grab a pole and get after it!
Sorry you two are going through this bump in life. Doing home renovations your self can be very stressful & get burned out. Take a break from it if you can every so often to do what you love in an area you would like to be. Use that time to scope out the area to see what's available to help form your goal! It will give you hope & will make your renovation project seem more worth your efforts. This will also clear your head-on organizing & attacking the renovation. You need to concentrate on keeping YOU happy not others. It's you life to live not theirs, they had their chance. Remember there is no hill for a climber especially when you can do it together! I hope you're able to make a profit in your endeavor. That can be very rewarding also! 🤗 Good luck! 🙏
Hang in there my wife and I did the same thing it’ll get better just cling to each other if you have your soul mate nothing else matters. Will be waiting for your next video
I’m right there with you. I’m 33 and going through medical retirement after getting hurt on duty as a cop. I now have to start life all over and find a new path. I did not envision this and it’s scary but I’m trying to take away the positives and leave the negatives behind. I have my family and you guys have each other. Stay the course…everything will work out in the end.
Might make sense to get a job at a local gun shop or sporting goods store...possibly a RSO at a local shooting range as well. It pays a lot better than it used to in the past.
It might be a struggle now but I believe what you’re doing will be a blessing in the future. I miss the Lil Red Heidi Hood videos but thanks for the update. Hang in there , make some money off the house and move on with your dreams; in a bikini on the boat fishing or in camouflage in a deer stand hunting. I wish you the best and can’t wait for the next video, much love!
You were distracted. It happens to all of us. You stay strong and just try to keep on smiling. Us content creators cannot get distracted. Amen. Go out and catch some fish...!
Agree. Ongoing seemingly never ending DIY projects can bring you down. Taking nature and outdoors activity breaks along the way helps a lot for sure. Your hard work accomplishments in the house will pay off in the end. 👍🎣
Don't have to explain its called living life instead of being worried about showing everyone your life.Just live it to your fullest and way you want to live it don't worry about the world!
Welcome back Beautiful. I missed you and your videos. Don't stress yourself out,it's not good for your health. Take walks and relax. I do have one question for you but I won't ask it here. I got a text from you several months ago and you sent a number, is it legit?. I have held off using it. Not sure if it's legit or not. Anyways welcome back Doll.
OMG I HAVE MISSED YOU...WOW LOTS OF WORK...YES YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF THE CITY 😊😊❤❤❤..GET BACK TO WHAT YOU LOVE ❤...TIME TO GO FISHING 🎣 😄 😀 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You are such a free spirit you should never be grounded- you were so much happier when you were at the beach and just doing anything and everything you wanted - be free girl - go where your heart tells you-

Take this as a learning experience. You learned what you don't want, and what you do want. Sounds like you guys should start a homestead, and homestead channel. Growing and harvesting your own food and doing the things you love.
I would love to harvest my own food in every way!! Gardening, fishing, hunting.. yes I can’t wait to be me again!!
Glad to see you guys back take care of you an get the hell out of there an go fishin.🍻👋
Hey, you are still alive! Was beginning to wonder. Always do what makes you happy.
Morning (in New Zealand) pack leader. In all honesty I have missed quite a videos, You never struck me as a person who could live in a city. You have tried a change, didn't like it so move back to where you are happiest, in the woods and fishing. Best wishes from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Hi, hope you feel better! Take one day at a time and take it easy!! It well be fine!! Love and best wishes to you!
Lol the brick part was funny I was thinking same um it's still brick! Lol
Hang in there. You are a strong young couple. Have faith in yourselves and your higher power. 🙏
That speaks volumes for what a strong relationship you have
Got to keep on keeping on guys. Always remember, Life is a song. Love is the music. Paul in Manchester U.K.
Every one has a hard time. Our government is most of the problem.😢 Praying for you 🙏 keep the faith.😊
Thanks for sharing with us. Soon Your Be @ the Coast!!
Mixing videos tween building and sporting is great. You've always impressed me with your honesty and look forward to more vids about your journey:)
Wow, we just read it together. That was amazing! Thank you for sharing 🩵🙏🏼
@@LilRedHeidiHood y'all are very welcome. Have a wonderful night!
I live in Phoenix, Arizona....talk about CITY!! Every chance I get I escape to the high country for camping and fishing...brings balance to the city and freeway insanity.
Amen 🙏
Been there done that. My wife and I left Tennessee to be closer to our aging parents who all lived up in our hometown in Ohio. We bought a house and she ended our 11 year marriage 3 months later. That was in 1994 and my life still sucks here in Ohio. Never should have left the woods. Praying for you guys. And I'm here to stay. I started following your journey when you were considering fixing up the old farmhouse.
Don't be to hard on yourselves. Just set small goal one at a time. Take breaks and recharge yourself.
Good to see you guys again. Treat it like an investment. Rent it out, real estate is a good way to build wealth.
Really great work to both of you😊 you have done an amazing job x
It soon will be a memory an y’all will be where you want to be time spared is time shared always look forward keep on keeping on
Sorry you two are going through this bump in life.
Good luck! 🙏
i ve been with you from the start, your health is most important. do what you have to do. i'm one that will still b here.
I wish I had a place in the woods I would love it. Tired and depressed of the city life also
When she left the farm and first started this whole thing I remember being very perplexed and like Wow she is going to hate this decision 😮
If she is legit on who she portrayed to be all these years I knew it wouldn't last and was a big mistake too.
Good for you guys! Good luck with everything🙏
Good time of year to put it up for sale! Instead of your time and all that planning and customizing, leave all that for the buyer. 🎣🙏
We must have faith that all things happen for a reason by God. Sending positive vibes your way!
Отличный ремонт! Хорошая работа! Классное, интересное получилось видео! Мне очень понравилось! Круто Круто!!!👍👍❤️
Welcome back! Hang in there...
You all may be on to something, so many shows about flipping houses and loving it. Then you have the Heidi and Andy show.
Looks like you can add freshly painted to the listing.
Be true too your self!! Life is too short!! Listen to your heart it will show the way.
Hey Andy is pretty good on camera, look forward to seeing him more.
Yall need to get to the country if not a small town. Fresh air, beauty of nature, and a fishing rod in your hands... make it happen my dear.
Great guy!yall got this!just stay together
Hi,Heidi.I'm so happy to see your new video. No matter what happens, don't give up on your love for life! Remember, stay determined. Keep going!😉
Eu Também Gosto da Natureza.❤

You and Ame in a van look a lot alike. Both seriously beautiful. So kudos to you both 🥰🥰🥰
Love the freckles. Glad you both are happy, though I can see the wear in both your eyes.
If you are miserable do what makes u happy. Even if that might include the possibility of renovating then selling. (Sorry if that was harsh)
Stay strong! You guys got this!!💪🏼
OMG I HAVE MISSED YOU...WOW LOTS OF WORK...YES YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF THE CITY 😊😊❤❤❤..GET BACK TO WHAT YOU LOVE ❤...TIME TO GO FISHING 🎣 😄 😀 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Imagine the final results of your labor and be glad you are young enough to do the work yourself !
Looks very nice, hope you both can have happiness once you can enjoy all your hard work together! Be safe, stay healthy, & God Bless everyone!
You are such a free spirit you should never be grounded- you were so much happier when you were at the beach and just doing anything and everything you wanted - be free girl - go where your heart tells you-
