My grandmother actually lives in the city near South Padre. My uncle was at the beach when it happened. Praying for the victims and their families. ❤️🌸

@@DrPhill96 it just really put it into perspective for me. I had heard vets say the water was red and I didn't doubt, but when I saw the water change color due to her leg as the waves were moving, it just really sunk in for me. probably not a nice comment though for me to have posted here.

Rare? There was an attack last month in Galveston, Texas.
they are still very rare, just cause it happens doesn't mean it's not rare.

Shark bites are extremely rare on the Texas coast....usually little sand sharks that don't hurt anyone they just swim by, plus the incredible amount of dolphins there usually frighten them off on all 500 miles of the coast....weird.

I watched Jaws last night.
Nothing is different than normal. The tourist travel have greatly increased the number of people in the water pretty much greater numbers greater odds. This mainly happens during the hight of tourist season on the oceans coast.
Ok serious question? Has there been more shark attacks than ever before lately, or is it just now getting a ton on media coverage?

Not a fan of swimming in the ocean and I'll stick to swimming pools. You look like a tasty snack to sharks, there's stinging jellyfish and all kinds of other dangers swimming alongside or under you. You can't see them until it's too late or even not at all.

That behavior sounds like a bull shark! Bull sharks are known to be very tertial, and will attack even when not provoked. Bull sharks are able to go in salt and fresh waters at any time. They have been caught in fresh water all the why up too Mississippi, and Missouri rivers. I have caught one years ago in Kansas City, MO out of the Missouri River.
If you're going in their home, they might bite you. They don't see us as, oh, that's a human. They go oh meat, I'll take a bite.
