Saying Giddey was a non factor once again on offense is kind of funny considering he hit four threes in each of the two games before this one and since March has been pretty important for OKC specifically on offense
He seems to be out of his slump he was going through middle of the season which I'm happy about. Idc what anyone says, I enjoy watching Giddey
We wouldn't of been the #1 seed without him. Which means we may not have been in the 2nd round without him.
4 threes isn’t much. Doesn’t change the fact some games he is very inconsistent and a liability at times.
@@blakehoule6698 4 threes isn't much for a superstar, but from a role player who isn't a three point specialist it is pretty good, especially in the playoffs in a close game on efficient shooting, he has definitely been a liability at some points this season, almost the entirety of the first half probably, but since the start of March he has possibly been more important than Chet even (partly due to a really inefficient month or two from Chet) and he's done it pretty consistently, and genuinely improved defensively to at least slightly better than league average (but still probably one of the worst defensive guards for OKC lol)
@@callumsmith5819 I agree defensively he is good but I think part of the reason Dallas got it to 1 was his ineffectiveness on offense at that moment in the 2nd half. Then they benched him and they went on a huge run.

I had given up on the nba for the past like 6 years, just no team was enjoyable to watch or root for and the League has just been un watchable due to all the cry baby stuff and how defense isn’t allowed to play d anymore. But man is this thunder team one of the most fun teams to watch I’ve ever seen!!!
Saying you stopped watching because teams couldn’t play defense and then saying OKC and SGA are the reason you like watching again in the same sentence is one of the most delusional things I have ever seen on this website.

I love this but I have to respectfully disagree about Josh Giddey not contributing to offense... his assists were on POINT!! It takes more than just the shooter to set up a great play!
And people don't realize that Giddey is thinking 3 or 4 moves ahead of whatever is happening. He gets a lot of hockey-assists that are not reflected in a basketball stat sheet, because he knows what all of the mismatches are and is constantly working to set those up. He will pass the ball to Player B, knowing that the effect will be Player A's defender will come to provide help, allowing Player B to pass the ball to Player A. Sometimes, you can even see Giddey pointing in the direction of the player he's really trying to get the ball to as he is passing it to a different player.

It's Chet and Dort who's giving opponents a hard time. Imagine a 7 ft dude who can block shots and stretch the floor for SGA, JDub, and Kiddie.
Chet protecting the rim unlocks everything for everyone else. Dort can be aggressive and guys can disrupt the passing lanes easier when Chet forces a bad kick out
If OKC wins game 2 tomorrow, I can see this as a sweep or a gentleman sweep. You’re up 2-0 and have a chance to steal one in Dallas? Them boys are going to be out for blood to make it 3-0🧹

They are the perfect team. 1 superstar in Shai, another up and coming superstar in Jdub, the perfect complimentary star in Chet. Lockdown defender in Dort and everybody else puts in effort to play D. And shooters all around. Okc is the most perfectly constructed team at the moment. Every player is just complementary to each other.

4:59 Okay I get that giddey isnt an incredible player but if people had actually paid attention to giddey at all since the all star break you'd know that he's been averaging 14 7 6, on way better splits than early in the season. I get that all the headlines back then were that we was trash (which he was), but just wanna let people know that the situation has changed. He will still have really bad games, but then he can also take over going downhill and finding teammates.
Thanks for pointing this out. Josh also played super limited minutes in game one. When SGA was out during the regular season, we saw how good Josh really is. He's not a superstar but he's a valuable piece of the puzzle.
@@justinmadden5607 Yeah I do hope that we can trade him away sometime this offseason. I don't know exactly what we should look for in return (since I hope we try to draft a big), but giddey is a decent player playing onball, but he just doesnt make sense on this thunder team.
@@70bugs I'm an Australian and a long time Thunder fan so it hurts me to admit it, but I do think that a move would benefit both parties. Josh has the type of game that needs him to play big minutes to be effective and continue to develop, and there's just less and less of a spot for him in our roster.
@justinmadden5607 I'd actually disagree with this, as Giddey has shown he can still be super valuable off ball for the Thunder as demonstrated by his stats as the fourth option at the back end of the season, he's still 21, only older than Wallace in terms of OKC players and while he would thrive on a different team more where he can play on ball, he will win rings with OKC which might justify to him staying, on the other hand, because of everything going on with Giddey his stocks are lower than they should be on a national scale, as demonstrated most clearly by the perception of some fans that he is useless, meaning OKC can't capitalise on his trade value as they should be able to
@@callumsmith5819 As an Aussie I'd be thrilled if he stayed if it meant he keeps starting and gets plenty of court time, so it's a bit of a double edged sword. I've got trust in Presti to make the right calls.

@irocklalot I think they are going to keep developing within for now. Giddey is only 21 and still developing, Dieng and K. Johnson is developing, the whole roster. They will have the 12th pick this year, 3 or 4 more ones next year and years after that. It's madness!

Not really, he's not a shooting guard, and over the last 3 games (including vs the Mavs) he has hit 8 threes, his last game was just particularly poor shooting and if he is dared to shoot and not hitting, OKC can just replace him with Joe, Wiggins or Wallace and capitalise on their lax defending
He's one of the reasons we're the number 1 seed. There were multiple games where he directly caused the win. Remember 1 loss and we're second seed, 2 losses and we're third seed.
