  • Dental aerosols are some of the most dangerous contamination carriers in the dental working environment. Not only is someone at risk of inhaling infectious particles, but these particles remain suspended in the air, settle on surfaces and are often re-aspirated.
VidaShield can reduce the impact of dental aerosols.

You miss the point that most modern dental offices use high power vacuum suction. This actually makes the clinic is very safe, plenty of research to confirm that

How can air move up in one direction and push back in the next. Animation is great but the engineering part is questionable design unless this product has met infection control specs by microbiologists. Additionally in Covid 19 aerosols are to be contained at source not move to the ceiling or blown down to spread. Please show the actual research would be helpful in understanding the mechanisms efficacy. Thank you

This is an excellent solution to protection against contagions in dental aerosols. Beware of companies like Sentry Air Systems that are marketing overpriced portable air cleaners. The Sentry Error unit is a poor design and can actually expel contagions from the leaking chassis and filter gaskets. Solutions like VidaShield are an excellent, effective and cost conscience approach to safe dental practices.

Oh, good grief! How did I survive working in a practice, that hadn't been updated since the 1950''s? ( That's what my second practices set up was, when I first arrived there. It was rapidly updated, when It changed hands in 1990 though!) When I first arrived there, we DIDN'T use masks or gloves, we REUSED needles by sterilising them between uses in commercial Dettol, We had a manual chair, (Footpump hight ajustment & a handlebar grip to ajust the back.) And to sterilize the instruments? We had a dry hot air sterilizer. (160c for 15 minutes.) Also we had to fill the amalgum capsules, with our BARE hands, then squeeze out the excess mercury over the amalgum pot, (2% potassium permanganate in water,) also with our BARE hands! In the 6 mths or so I worked like this, NOT ONE patient became ill as a result of anything we did in that surgery! And my health improved, because I wasn't having to stress about everything being surgically clean all the time! I left the dental nursing world 6 yrs ago, as the stress was making me physically ill. I recently thought about going back, but after seeing some of these videos... Too much has changed, and I'd have to get the DSA. I gather I could get a certification letter from my last employer, but.... Do I really wanna go through all that, just to earn money, and end up ill again? No thanks, there's too much "nanny state" about the job now for my liking. (And I never got paid a living wage either!)
