Wait, am I going to need to buy a separate mlok mount for the light, or does it come with the rein 3.0?
To answer my own question, yes you do. The rein comes with a picatinny rail mount. I bought a magpul mlok offset mount for mine. Works great
I'm about to buy the "complete kit" and I cant get a clear answer regarding if I need an mlok mount to side mount the damn light or if something is already included
I think you’ll need a mount that uses the surefire scout style lockup and holes. Website has their torrent mount
I bought an IWC scout mount for my REIN, but the screws provided by Cloud Defensive are not long enough to engage the threads using it, does anyone know where I can get replacements?
Same issue did you find a solution
Great overview, I can't wait to get one and try out. 🤘
This is a very impressive design. The redundancies in the switch and tail cap are impressive. It’s nice to see someone being continuously innovative. It looks like I’ll be getting one of these.
Until you realize the switch is 4 inches tall....
How does the button switch feel to the modlight switch button?
Apples to oranges honestly, they’re very different. I like how positive of a clicking feel the rein has. The modlite is great but I simpler. The rein is nicer with gloves in my opinion.
What flashlight mount is that? The link is not working :( arisaka surefire scout mount?
What size screws go with it? Length, diameter, thread pitch etc.
Oh and the olight WML the Odin will not compare to the other brands you mention. Olights pistol and rifle lights are, in my opinion, very far behind.
That rail is sick.
Why is my switch mount mounting on crooked? No matter what I do, it goes on crooked
Can the switch and non-switch models be converted to the other? i.e. switched to non-switched?
@anthony spagnoli - Yes. Simply unscrew the tailcap ring from the tailcap body, remove the insert, insert the desired setup, screw tailcap ring back on the tailcap body. Unlike the others the REIN features a full-size push button tailcap for push button only or remote switch configuration.
You can not buy the tape switch yet ! I didnt know it didn't come with it and now im parked until they decided to sell it separate
@@Allinoffroad Same for me. They only had the standard kit in the store, but the salesman told me I could order the tape switch later. So, I bought it. Assume they’ll sell the tape switch at some point...
Great video, thank you it helped me a lot definitely going with Cloud Defensive.
How many piccatiny slots does the pressure pad take up? Im looking to add a pic-to-Mlok strip
which arisaka mount did u use? the link is poop
Why would you not use the original mount
If you want to just use the tail cap, is it possible to remove the remote pressure pad module? Will I need to buy another part to convert the light into tail cap only?
You would need another part I believe.
@@PracticallyTactical Thanks for the reply!
Would u not recommend putting the pad behind buis?
put it wherever it works for you. Build everything around your rifle and where you grip it. All that different on rail length, arm length, gear setup, etc...
Would you recommend this over an OWL for a 13" hand guard? Only thing I worry about the owl is that i'll have to extend longer than I want. Thanks
I will have a video out in a week or two on deciding between the rein or owl! I have an owl in a much shorter handguard than 13” just fine.
Can you mount the pressure pad with m lok on the side of the barrel?
If you added a little spot of pic rail into the m-lok it would would. I don’t think they have a straight m-lok Mount
Are the pressure pad clamping brackets made out of polymer or aluminum?
Polymer
Pretty large compared to the competition. Smart move making the mount system compatible with SF though.
WhiskeyActual if someone wants smaller, grab the REiN Micro. I prefer a longer run time.
@@PracticallyTactical What is the run-time and output of the micro vs the regular? Has it been confirmed ?
Unobtanium'sQuickReviews yes confirmed. 85-120min (depends on battery) vs 35 mins. Now, remember that run time (shorter) and usable light time are two different things. They rate their stuff based off of a strong run time, but you’d get more
@@PracticallyTactical so its confirmed 100% identical output between micro and full size, only runtime differing?
yes. and as I stated in the video, we have a micro, I just don’t have it. Jesse does.
Mine came DOA. Bought it to replace a SureFire DF model that turned off during recoil. American Made doesn't mean what it used to.
What kind of rail covers are those on your AR?
Railscales
Thanks for the speedy reply, what pattern is that one, and what’s your opinion on them if you don’t mind me asking?
Is this compatible with the surefire caps?
No
@@PracticallyTactical the mounting is only compatible with surefire scout lights then right?
@@abolishguncontrollaws5689 yup!
That light is huge.
They make a micro also
What muzzle device is that?
Brian B Griffin Armament Taper Mount Hammer Comp
There is a place selling this kit for 200 bones right now. That’s a steal
How do you feel about the tape switch button being tiny as shit compared to basically all other switches? Is there any way to use a different tape switch with this? Thinking its a deal breaker for me
not an issue. we manipulate smaller parts on a rifle (mag release, bolt catch, etc).
@@PracticallyTactical so you prefer the smaller button on the tapeswitch?
@@patrickswayyze it’s not that I like small or don’t like small. It just works. It’s not rocket science, it’s more about how to properly setup the switch to be manipulated without adjusting grip.
@@PracticallyTactical OK, what your favorite tapeswitch you have used regarding the button?
@@patrickswayyze my favorite switch is whatever is on my gun that works with the light that I want on my gun. Whatever is there that runs my light, I like. Never used anything “bad”.
No one going to tell him his Karve is backwards?
I hope there will be an mlok version of the pressure pad.
Husky701 Rider yes there will be that version. I don’t have any exact dates though
Yeah that would be legit for the Midwest rails I've installed with the mainly mlok top. Cloud is changing the game man I dig this switch set up.
5.56 Or 5.45? I have the alg defense handguards with the mlok top on two of my ars. I love the cloud lcs mlok on top. Makes for a really low profile setup the button is about flush with the top rail of the upper.
Kind of a disappointment imo. I don’t like the proprietary tape switch and mount. The light itself is nice but I’d rather run a mod button or hot button
Optics planet says it’ll ship in 7-9 weeks... waiting has been painful really been just wanting to get the SF DF instead
Order from CD direct. You'll save yourself about 60 bucks. I just ordered the micro. Both are 280 on site buuut use code realdirty or 50shades to save yourself more money. There's other codes they always post but I was sent the 50shades one and realdirty is always in their stories on ig. Total for me came to about 270 with shipping.
Optics planet is rarely truthful on their shipping times
OP posted the REIN and began pre-orders without our approval. They were not suppose to release it on their website until we posted it available.
@@danm869 If you don't mind me asking where did you put in the coupon code? Because I was just on the CD site and there is no where to put in a code. Maybe it's because of the current sale?
@@mrsickwick per their Instagram it doesn't seem like they accept other discount codes on top of it during this sale. I only got 10% off my Micro. They're doing 20% off currently which is great. I will be ordering a Std. Rein here before it's over.
I wish they would give a damn release date! Cloud defensive take my damn $$ already
