I've already watched it a few times... there's so much good information about the different varieties, how they grow and what they are like. This was so much more than just an 'unboxing' video. I learned a ton.

my cart on bakers creek is just ones I wanna grow next year and I didn’t add most of the ones that would just be “cool to grow”..... My cart total was $115 🤣 I gasped
I’ve been following Luke since he was in high school and I’m so pleased to see him be so successful. I love his seeds, they are reasonably priced and as good as any out there. Also, I live in Nebraska, so prairie winds for sure, and I grow on cattle panel too, but installed as an arch between two raised beds. It is very sturdy and can grown melons, squash, cucumbers, beans and tomatoes. It’s my favorite trellis system. I do also have a long bed with a panel down the middle like yours and it does provide enough support, but I find arches easier to harvest from.
I'm in Nebraska too and use both cattle panel arches in raised beds and panels down the middle. We certainly have wind here and I've never had issue with either one.
Chelsae Colbert I have bought from Baker and Boar but wish I would have lEarned about MI Garderner earlier. I have binge watched the last week. I think their seeds are only .99!

I grow poppies every year. Supper easy. I just scatter them over the yard and let nature take it course. I scattered them in October/November and they are now starting to bloom. They are blooming earlier than usual because of the extra warm weather we are having. Even My iris are blooming.
In 1967 my husband was stationed at Ft Dix, New Jersey. It snowed so much I was a little depressed. So I started digging flowerbeds in the snow while my baby was napping. When spring came I planted poppy seeds and I think every one grew. They were so beautiful!!!! So easy to grow. Everything I planted in New Jersey grew successfully. So rewarding for a beginning gardener. I have love plants every since then.🤪

Hey Jess, you mentioned poppies, and they are one of my favs to grow, too. Do a little research on them, some are much better to plant in the Fall and let them overwinter in place. Mine are all in the ground since Oct. and just starting to show them- selves. I have over seeded them to be sure I get enough to germinate, so i will have to thin them a bit. I hate to do that , but they really need the space around them so they can get big enough. Some of mine are almost 5 feet tall, with huge blossoms. Gorgeous!! And the wait is worth it. Good luck!

I don’t know how I missed this one. I love Luke, too. I just recently found out that you guys are friends! I love it when my homesteaders are friends, too. Just like I realized recently that you are fiends with Becky at One Acre. I think I love this video because it is at the Arkansas site. I am still getting used to you guys being closer to me in SC. We love habaneros and shishito peppers because I found them through you. I just received my Bakers Creek seeds with several of your other recommendations from the last few years. I am always excited to grow what you have. Love you and your family Jess.
I bought three pots of poppies last year from Clear Creek Gardener here in Hot Springs, AR. I separated the starts and planted them in a thin row along a front yard bed. They reseeded and came back in profusion. They were so beautiful that people were driving by my house to admire them. I just saved the seeds and can send you some if you want.
You are so adorable when you get all excited, lol. It is infectious. I loved watching you go through each packet of seeds and explain them and tell your stories. Thanks so much for sharing this fun moment with all of us. I hadn't heard of MIGardener and am looking forward to ordering through them, YAY!
Ordered all my seeds this year from MI gardener and backer creek instead of getting them from big box stores and I feel so much better about it! And it adds so much more meaning behind the plants now. Thanks Jess!
I have been getting so many seeds and gardening supplies in the mail, it’s like Christmas again ☺️ this will be my first year growing my entire spring garden from seed and I’m so excited to get things started!! Thanks for the discount code Jess 💕
I am a new gardener and I watch his videos and yours and I was so excited when I got the seeds in the mail! I love geeking out and watching your videos :)
I share your seed obsession on such a deep level!! I would spend $1000's on seeds every year if i didn't have to exercise massive self control. I only have about a 10'X20' plot of earth to grow in, but one day i will reach my dream of owning land!
I accidentally grew a Silvery Fir Tree last year. There was one seed in a package of other tomato seeds and I really loved it. It got special treatment.
Soon as this was over i'm like what its been 40 minutes already?!! I've had to watch plenty of those unboxing videos to figure out how some things are supposed to work and darn glad those vids are there lol !! Grow something and grow with it y'all !!*Have a good'nnn*
I bought some MIgardener seeds last year - Orange Roussolini included. That video of his was infectious. It's very tempting to order that frilly Kale they just got.
If you've ever had a problem with caterpillars, don't plant the frilly kale. I never had a problem until I planted it. They hide inside and it's almost impossible to see them. Only way to get them out is soak in apple cider vinegar. They ate half my crop before I realized what was eating them. I learned the hard way. That being said, I love dinosaur kale. No problems with it.
Darlene Clark Have you tried the floating row cover on them like living Traditions did last year on their brassicas? It really worked for them to keep the bugs off.
I grew my jack o lantern pumpkins in southern Minnesota on cattle panel trellis. No support whatsoever. Morning glory and moon flower together are so beautiful on an arched trellis. I grew all my cucumbers, melons, butternut, acorn, butternut pie pumpkins, jack o lantern, and beans. It freed up so much space that I didn't have enough plants.
@@Strongerbyhaleigh I did. Everything needed a little encouraging to climb. So I would hook some of the vine through the panel but once going I didn't need to do anything. Everything was lovely. All my pumpkins were perfectly round and clean. Cucumbers dangled under the panel when I would walk under it. I am getting more panels today.
@@Strongerbyhaleigh cattle panels? Tractor supply. They are around$25 each. Then you need 2 6-foot t posts and zipties. It is a 2 person job to install them. I think Jess has a video on how to do it. I followed her method.
I love ordering seeds from MI gardener ... I've been watching Luke's channel for a few years .. I appreciate all the advice he gives and it's much needed here lol
I love the MIGardener! You and MIGardener are my go to as well as The Gardening Channel with James Prigioni! His passion is contagious and I've learned so much from each of you. I'll be starting a food forest this spring. Cant wait!
I'm newby garden crazy haha. I placed an order with migardner I think in November or December and also I just placed a 4th order with baker creek. I keep thinking of more things I want to plant haha
You should try growing the poppies that are cultivars of Papaver soniferum, which are actually opium poppies, but are also the poppies from which bread poppy seeds come from. They are annuals that will self seed around, and are the most beautiful poppies I think. One of the really cool things about opium poppies is that it's very easy to organize your own strain just by pulling out all but the ones with the nicest colors, so that the ones that set seed your faves. The ones you have are oriental poppies, I think, which are perennial and are very beautiful also, but flower for a very short time in early summer, or probably spring where you are. Probably not worth trying to grow blue poppies (Meconopsis) where you are-they need cool conditions and good acid soil.
Lol don’t Usually like unboxing videos… But you’re adorable how excited you get… Love the cozy! “I wet my plants” LOL Here’s a tip on how to grow poppies… Plant them, watch them grow, love them! The blooms don’t last long at all… They are so gorgeous if you can get your hands on them royalty Poppy.. is my favorite! (Giant Baby pink flower with a purple middle… The flowers are as big as your hand!) They’re gorgeous… Grow poppies this year :-)
I grew 2 San Marzano plants last year and waited too long to start pruning the plants, so they pretty much took over my little raised beds (I’ll send you a pic on Instagram). The branches all grew 6-7 ft. They aren’t very acidic. After the bugs got their fill and a few rotted on the vine because they got missed, we still had 800 harvested tomatoes! Because I wasn’t canning last year, we ended up throwing a ton away. We gave away a bunch to our neighbors and friends. My husband sliced them and put them on his sandwiches. My mother in-law ate a ton as tomato salads when she visited. And we made several batches of the best spaghetti sauce we’ve ever tasted. I saved some seeds. I learned my lesson about pruning and will be growing more this year, with the intention of learning how to can.
I would love to sit down with you and just talk seeds! I believe seed shopping is my favorite part of gardening because it's so full of promise and potential.
LOL! I really enjoyed watching you open the MI seed order! and explaining why you ordered so many tomato seeds, ha ha ha! No explanation required for me, Dearie!
I absolutely love the smell of basil! Its wild how a slight touch of wind on its leaves or touch of your hand causes it to fill the entire surrounding area with its aroma! I discovered MI Gardener last year, and had to show a list of restraint when putting in my order! They're so affordable and there's so many varieties I want to try! I did have trouble with germination, but it could have been an issue on my end? 🤷♀️I can't blame it on their seeds because I've not heard of any other people complaining...
Yep, it's hard to believe that I can easily sit and watch you open and go through a box of seeds as though I were a child getting new toys. Some would say it's like watching paint dry. I'm loving It! New info and learning much. Thank you.
OMGoodness Jess! I was so excited to watch. I got my Migardener order last week. I also ordered the gobstopper seeds, thought they looked cool. Unfortunately I didn't get my blueberry cherry seeds I ordered. I wanted to see if they were as good or similar to wild boar blueberry cherries? I can't afford their prices($4). Thankful for Migardener's $ .99 seeds. Would love to see you do a comparison of the two. I think I'm going to have to do a 2nd order after watching, lol.
I also bought all of his tomato varieties and so many of everything else I love and things I just wanted to try. It’s so easy to indulge my seed hoard when they’re only .99. I love to see what you are growing since I’m also in Arkansas but a little further south so generally I have the same luck with the same varieties. Thanks
What a fun unboxing! MI gardener is my FAVORITE seed source! I don't know about you, but when I hold a handful of seed packets I feel so wealthy, lol! I'm holding so much potential in the palm of my hands that it takes my breath away. Cheesy, but true!!
I absolutely love your seed videos...just can't get enough 💚...love the details you give with each you show..I wish I had time for even more raised beds for all of it 😁💚🌱💚
Have you ever grown purple string beans? They are delicious! When you cook them, the purple is cooked out of them and the green color that you are left with is so deep and rich. The flavor is scrumptious!

I feel like I was shopping 😀❤🌷
I laughed out loud when you compared us watching to kids unboxing videos. Touche!
I used my JESS10, Thank you!!! 💚🌱🌏
Ordered all my seeds this year from MI gardener and backer creek instead of getting them from big box stores and I feel so much better about it! And it adds so much more meaning behind the plants now. Thanks Jess!
Wow! That's a-lot-a-seeds!!! You GO Girl 😲...I'm getting excited to start, but have to WAIT until it's time here - so hard!
Seeds and Jess for almost an hour: YESSS PLEASEEE!!!!!! Your excitement is so contagious!!! XO
I accidentally grew a Silvery Fir Tree last year. There was one seed in a package of other tomato seeds and I really loved it. It got special treatment.
I was so pumped to watch this video. I paused several times to go look up the seeds. Now time to make my 100th seed order. haha.
Soon as this was over i'm like what its been 40 minutes already?!!
I've had to watch plenty of those unboxing videos to figure out how some things are
supposed to work and darn glad those vids are there lol !!
You grew your melons, squash, and beans on trellis’? I’m wanting to do the same but it’s my first year gardening and I don’t want to mess them up!
The only thing I didn't do was watermelon. I grew a 27lber and I don't think watermelon vine would support that weight.
Heidi where do you get the trellis from?
Hahaha I feel your pain. It hard to stop!
“I wet my plants” LOL
Here’s a tip on how to grow poppies… Plant them, watch them grow, love them!
Oh my Goodness Jess! Those seeds !!! I am smiling ear to ear. CAN YOU PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a video on what grows best vertically xoxo
Say it with me now “My name is Jess and I’m a seedaholic.” Love the channel. In the process of a move now but planning a garden after the move.
Exactly, Brian!
I would love to sit down with you and just talk seeds! I believe seed shopping is my favorite part of gardening because it's so full of promise and potential.
Exactly!
I love growing poppies and sunflowers, everywhere, every year!!
Omg I'm bursting with jealousy right now!!! Ugh i love MIGardener!
Growing poppies for the first time now! Sprouting in a container, wick method. Will let ya know how things grow!
💚✌️🌱🐝
You had me at .99 cents a seed package 😱 thanks for the discount I just ordered me some seeds this morning 😍
I love that we get to share our love for seeds. ive been in need of a seed video. thank you.
Also, I loved this so much I watched it twice 😂
Oh man! All that tomato talk has me craving a tomato sandwich. Just imagining slicing a huge one into big thick slices 😋🤩😆
*THANK YOU GOOD AFTERNOON JESS*
I also bought all of his tomato varieties and so many of everything else I love and things I just wanted to try. It’s so easy to indulge my seed hoard when they’re only .99. I love to see what you are growing since I’m also in Arkansas but a little further south so generally I have the same luck with the same varieties. Thanks
I'm waiting for my order from MIgardener to come in.so excited Im in zone 7b.love your channel.fan for 2 year now
Wow, this is a 40 minute video on just seeds! I loved it.
What a fun unboxing! MI gardener is my FAVORITE seed source! I don't know about you, but when I hold a handful of seed packets I feel so wealthy, lol! I'm holding so much potential in the palm of my hands that it takes my breath away. Cheesy, but true!!
You did it again! I had just received my MI Gardener order yesterday and I had to place another one. Good job. No wonder Luke loves you! LOL
We love Jess because she is pure passion through and through and doesn't change for anyone.
@@MIgardener That's why I love her too! As you know, she's the same in person, but even more so if that's possible and gives great hugs.
You called me out. Im totally watching an unboxing... 😄😛
"I want to do a three sisters garden" how about a two sisters, a cousin, and the unwanted neighbor garden 🤣 We love you, Jess!
Great video thanks for sharing with us...I was watching you and hear peep, peep I ran to the hatching room I know that sound wasn't on your video 🤣🤣 We have babies 🐣🐣 hatching..❤ I have alot of Mi Gardener seeds my mailman is like here Elizabeth let me guess more seeds🤣🌻
I Love Love Love getting seeds. It's nice to know what the seeds are like. Thank you for the great explanations of different plants. It helps a lot to know what I want to buy. Happy growing.
Loved this❤
I am new to gardening. Truly getting started this year. I did a few containers last year and had some luck but not great. Doing raised beds and starting seeds this year. I live in northeast Arkansas so knowing Jess is in central helps me keep up with when its time to start things. She deals with the same weather I do.
I love you opening the box love that big mug like your cabinet great ideas
Wow......that box is HEAVEN!!! 🥰
Its like Christmas for the spring!!!! Cant wait till it gets warmer!!! Yall have a blessed week!
