Missed the live stream again. Good for Nikon but, with the C400, R1 and R5 Mark II coming out, this will be a huge year for Canon. I’m not really in the cinema world but I can tell you that no amount of RUclipsr whining will affect the sales of the R1 to the pros that need it. As for the R5m2, Canon will sale all they can manufacture. 🤷🏻♂️
I don't know which camera brand will win in 2024, but the camera that's going to be for me is the GH7. For my use cases, it's the hybrid camera that ticked more boxes at this price-point.

what about s5ii or s5iix? compare the z6iii to it on B&H, they are almost identical except for partially stacked sensor.
S5iix = v-log is better than n-log but 4k60 crop, no 4k120, no prores internally, no raw video internally, bad rolling shutter…
@@peterra2532 S5iix has internal ProRes 422, all I’m saying is that the s5iix is more competitive than a MFT camera. They listed 5 cameras, one of which is micro four thirds. Agree S5iix has those flaws, and the question was what camera competes with it. I, personally, would not say the gh7 competes with the z6iii.
@@MaximoJoshua Yes it has internal Prores, but not Proresraw, and the issue with the S5II(X) is details rendering. If you don't shoot in external raw (like BRAW or Proresraw), you must deal with worse detail rendering than before like on the S1 and S5. The DR is maybe better on the S5II than on the Z6-III (though the S5II internal recording uses more detail filtering) and the IBIS is also much better but 4K full frame is limited to 30fps, it has no 4k 120fps even with a crop and the rolling shutter is not good, mostly because Panasonic still uses the same sensor than the A7III made in 2017-2018.
I use cameras from multiples brands and I seriously think the S5II(X) is overrated and the Z6III slightly overpriced. The GH7 is maybe bit more interesting (I have the G9II which is very close and with a very good price-performance ratio). Sure low light is a bit worse than full frame and like the S5II details rendering are worse in 4K (great in 5,7K), but the rolling shutter is almost as good as the Z6III, it has good slowmotions modes, colors (subjective) and IBIS are much better and also the size of lenses is great, especially for run and gun. And in Europe, the Z6-III is close to 3000€ and the GH6 2200€.
I think people should look more closely at the G9II, which can be found to about 1700€ and packed with 90/95% of the performance of the GH7.
Panasonic S1 mark ii at $2500,
If Panasonic finally changes the sensor to get better rollling shutter, better frame rates/resolutions modes and better video engine (as good as the first S5 and S1), this will be the best camera. If they also could put more or less the same color science than the GH6, nothing will be close. Currently the S5II(X) has very good DR, IBIS and AF, but internal video engine is bad and the sensor is too old.
The Final Cut Camera app is not even close in features to Black Magic Camera...I would expect they continue using Black Magic for their next events. The funniest thing was that Apple gave them special thanks, and it seemed that BM added the exact features Apple wanted to use. As an example, Tentacle Sync integration...BMC has it, Final Cut Camera doesn't. Tilta Nucleus wireless focus, BMC has it, FCC doesn't. The list goes on
The one thing that FCC has is a good multi-cam workflow with Final Cut.
Those two companies have a long history of working together, Black Magic's first product was a mac capture card called the DeckLink.
I use strobes every day shooting flash/ambient real estate composites. Global shutter and those massive synch speeds it offers is SO under-rated for workflows like mine. Let's face it though...most people who buy and use cameras are not working pros, and off-camera flash synch speed/limitation is just about as "pro level" of a spec as they come, so most people won't understand why it's such a big deal.
r6 ii and r3 have different sensors, r3 is stacked, it;s not partly or something, it's full stacked. So forget about 120.
Regarding the Pentax is a Big Fail because use half of the 35mm film on the scanner it won't get you professional results, as wedding photographer I shoot lot weddings on film and nothing beat Canon Eos 1 V or medium format Mamiya 645, it makes money because bring nostalgia and a cinematic look whit not too much edition.

Sony makes the sensors, Sony makes the RULES.
Sony won’t match it because of the cinema line they have. They just won’t do it. I would be shocked if they did at that price.

At the end of the day, Sony is an electronics company that make cameras, they’re not a camera company at the roots…
I know I am just subscriber but that dudes bias towards Canon is extremely annoying. It's great having your preferred brand but jeez you do not have to be like that. I am 43 minutes in and this is where I stop listening what was set to be a very interesting podcast.
