Great discussion guys 🤘🏽 it’s kinda crazy that all these brands are making great cameras. Just comes down to who’s going that extra mile for them heir consumers now.
I teach photography in my local community and over the 2 years I've been doing it I've held hundreds of different models of cameras in my hands everything from Nikon Sony Lumix fujifilm... you name it I've done it all. A good photographer can use pretty much any camera and still get pretty good results out of it it
DP Review is a UTILITY to many many people. You can’t find this body of knowledge anywhere else in one consolidated website. Shutting it down is a massive mistake and really short-sighted. And the Chris & Jordan videos are so funny as well as useful (of course!). 😢
I own three Sony bodies and 16 e-mount lenses. One of them is an a1. I’ve talked other people into switching to Sony. I used to hang out with a camera club that took to calling me “our Sony brand ambassador.” And I’m definitely a bit of a Sony fangirl. But Sony’s feature implementation strategy has me planning to buy a Nikon in the week ahead. Focus bracketing will make my life a lot easier. And I know it’s available in the a7r5, but not my a1. And I just cannot justify the cost of an a7r5 when it costs less to buy a Nikon + lens, I know Sony won’t keep the a7r5 up to date, and I just don’t otherwise have a need for the a7r5. I’m rather upset about it. Frankly, I don’t even want a Nikon. But Sony has made that the most sensible way to get the feature I need. I guess I’m Jordan’s pissed off a1 owner. My business is still Sony’s to lose. But they’re already making me buy a Nikon.
Totally agree 👍 sony need to listen and add features to existing models .. I shoot an a7r4 and would like the new menu system . Use of touch screen on menu . Most importantly focus bracketing . Bird eye autofocus be I ng added ... this ethos of not updating firmware will piss off so many owners .. 🙄
Given the ever increasing prices of cameras, it seems manufacturers have switched from a "razor and blades" business model where lenses generated the vast bulk of the profits, to a "why not both" model where cameras are also profit drivers, with predictable outcomes. Business practices are more and more becoming a differentiator. The issues were masked for a long time by volunteer developers creating custom firmware (for example MagicLantern) which delivered advanced features like focus bracketing and HDR video, even withheld features like Kelvin white balance all the way down to Canon Rebel cameras. Many have left Canon not least because of their business practices of withholding features and closing lens mounts. Sony removed their extensible firmware plugins and is slow to add these features back in, and other brands are following suit. I used to be very happy with features being added to Fujifilm cameras (which have focus bracketing in all their cameras to boot and have experimented with light trails in their beginner cameras, and added high res to their recent models) but they have slowed down their pace considerably. There are too many features you can only find from Olympus (HHHR, live long exposure / light trails) or Pentax (astrotracker) that are pure software, any camera should have these in principle (yes, astrotracker needs GPS but location data can come from a smartphone). I predict that the first brand to open their cameras to custom community-developed plugins delivering advanced features such as variable frame rate time lapse, focus bracketing, ISO interleaved video, even custom AI autofocus modes, will clean up in the market. Seeing how slowly things are going, that might be a Chinese brand, so Japanese brands be warned, the days of their exclusive stranglehold on the market may be counted.
I agree. I’m a Sony a7rV user and will never buy an a1, yet still feel for a1 users. Plus I know I’ll be in the same boat when an A7V comes out with new features my rV will never get. It makes no sense not to provide feature updates to prior models. Upgrade paths should be made justified based on hardware improvements, not by holding back on software/firmware updates on prior models. Sonys saving grace to me is lens options, it’s the only reason why I stay Sony for now and the foreseeable future.
I hear the reason for the lack of updates on the A7 & A1 series bodies is because the person in charge of the camera division has a harder time selling cameras in the ZV line & FX line, so they are holding back on updates for the A7 & A1 series fearing that it would cannibalise sales of the ZV & FX series camera.
This feels like the Kai and Lok situation a few years ago, while their style was more leaning toward entertainment, DP Review is like a central hub of info and I always trusted the reviews to a certain extent. Looking forward to what Chris and Jordan do next though.
For me, the loss of DP Review was rough but now Chris and Jordan are at Petapixel, I follow that. They were what made DP Review for me. I trust them to give honest opinions and not sell out.
That lightning round was spot on! I'm a Nikon fan (with some Z glass and no body) shooting with an A7C, with Tamron 20-40f2.8, 70-180f2.8, Samyang 45f1.8, and Sigma 100-400-OS. I feel like DPR and Nikon have left the chat. People who rarely use any of the newer ML features love the Nikon lineup that much more. The S5II was the first camera I had left over buttons to remap! If Nikon just brought back the AF "pod", the BKT button, and one Fn button they'd solve half their UI problem. Not to mention how limited their customization is and needing 13+ AF modes that still don't compete with Canon or Sony when it comes to tracking.
I dont have cameras, but still enjoy the discussion!! Dreaming to get Fujifilm XT20, hope next year, and glad to hear you put Fuji on the same bracket with Leica and Hasselblad even in just the personality.
lol that didn't work out too well for Nikon, did it? They really must just have the worst PR team ever. I really don't know what else it could be with them. Their cameras are great... Their PR team? Not so much.
Great chat guys and some real food for thought in the opening third. The X100 video was the first Chris Nichols video I saw! I had a D90 at the time which was great, but I really wanted something smaller for gig and street work, with better and small lenses. Nikon back then were forcing you to buy full frame glass for APSC bodies if you wanted good lenses. Saw the X100 video and it just clicked for me. Later traded my D90 for an X-Pro1. The autofocus was far worse but the images I just loved. I've been with Fuji ever since. Autofocus wise they continue to lag, there's been odd quirks and glitches in their recent cameras like occassional freezes and they no longer Kaizan like they used to but man, I just love their cameras, lenses and the images they produce for gig / arts / wedding and documentary photography, and the cameras don't spook the subjects either.
Thank you for speaking up and sharing what many of us are thinking about the loss of DPReview. It's a serious loss and I couldn't agree more with everything you said.
There are a few great reasons to love and prefer almost any brand of camera. But there are surely several MORE great reasons to love Fuji cameras. Fuji gives you a hell of a lot of camera for the dollar spent. Built quality, color profile employed, even JPG quality if you prefer JPG. Fuji knows color because they're a film manufacturer, more than for any other reason.
Great video! I shoot Pentax for landscapes and seascapes, Fujifilm for street, and hope to sell my Canon gear and buy the LUMIX S5ii this year for video work. Different tools for different jobs!
Why have no camera people talked about the Fuji X-2hs COOLING FAN? Sold separately, it is powered and controlled from the camera. Thats incredible for video.
This DPR shutting down thing was just an elaborate plot to see the public reaction. Now that everyone shed some amount of tears (me icluded) the guys and the big boss can relax and continue to amaze us with their dedicated an meticulous work. After all it’s the end of May and DPR is still alive. :-)
Wonderful video - can't agree more on the judgements. I only do stills and I am a Canon R5 shooter but Sony and Fuji would be wonderful alternatives for me. Also nice to hear that Chris was so passionate about old Nikon cameras. In the analog world I used a F3/T for many years. It was so simple to use. Thanks for compiling this. And yes - we will miss dpreview a lot. It has been my most visited non-news site for many years. Still can't believe that it is not mentioned in the future. Passionate people do amazing work! Greetings from Germany.
If you're confused about Sony's implementation then you don't know Sony. This has been happening for decades. They're a consumer electronics company, not a camera/optical company. Sony's firmware update means...buy our new camera. This will not change and is the Sony Way.
Love the Human touch of my Fuji cameras & lenses. And Jordan & Chris provide the best - pro & fun - cameras reviews, as DPreview: To start a new one, DPreview+?
I appreciate the discussion as always! I do find it a bit odd that people are so excited about the Sony ZV-E1, we talk about it as an entry level, content creator's camera, but what no one mentions is that it's $3000 dollars CDN body alone. Which is the same price as a Panasonic S5ii. Seems a little expensive for what you're getting.
I'm happy with the e1 so far, not a fanboy but it seemed like the best out of the current lot... Small enough with a compact lens to fit in a pocket, the latest full frame sensor, hardware and software, great low light capability, etc. For me it's a great "A" camera for the ability to take it anywhere. If the zv-e10 gets upgraded that may be even better at its even more compact size and weight, but the current version hardware is too old. If my budget was less the zv-e10 would still be my top pick though. I don't believe in waiting for features that maybe could happen in firmware for any camera.
22:27 - If you have an FX3... you are not going to buy the Toy ZVE1 as backup which has only a single card slot... you are going to buy either an A7IV or an FX30 as backup... cameras that are actually going to survive the "pro" workload.
Pro doesn't mean what it used to... I hate the trend towards artificial quality, but the majority of pros now use phones, with the fake bokeh and sharpening that doesn't stand up. For them the zv-e1 has pro hardware, high quality lenses, higher quality files, plus a card slot their main camera doesn't have, and it's still among the smaller, lighter interchangeable lens cameras.
Especially like your observations about ‘mid-century’ design, in general. And overall a fun, helpful discussion…comforting to have our own sometimes more limited personal experiences with these brands juxtaposed to yourselves’ more extensive experiences. PS - If Chris gets the first ZFC full frame sold, I will be right behind him in line for the second one available.
Best camera around today ? If you are not shooting sport, GFX100s is fantastic (previous camera : hasselblad, leaf, phase one, Canon, Nikon, Sony... ) i still amazed that the quality of colors (using phase one). For video ? i shoot with manual lenses... Panasonic S1 is a bargain, but i will probably update it for the S5II X for all intra ! I wish the S1H will have 32 bits float internal audio...and Braw internal...
I actually bought the ZV-E1 to use APS-C cinema lenses and upsample to 4K to get a softer image. Other than that my Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 lens lives on the camera. If I want a sharper image I use my FX30 or A6700.
I think the Z mount is very versatile. I have the Sony A7III and I am ordering the Z8, but with a very thin adapter, I can mount Sony Sigma lens to the Nikon and get exceptional results.
You should check out the PDF from the creator of the leeming Luts for Sony specifically as he speaks to a setting that must be changed or S- Cinetone will be over aggressive and clip earlier than it should. I literally just read it today. I'm not going to go back and look it up but it speaks to your issue and I think you should check that out....
The cameras are so good now that learning the system is more important. Some workflows are better for some brands. The glass is the biggest determinant for me. Canon RF glass is phenomenal. You can save with a $125 adapter and get all the Canon EF glass. Hard to beat.
So this was released on April 14, 2023 but I thought Amazon was keeping the site as an archive due to the outcry from the community. Is this video a week out of date or is my information incorrect?
I have used many systems over the digital decades (Canon [FF & APSC], Sony [APSC], Fuji [MF], and OMDS/Olympus) and the photographs I have taken with my my MFT camera -the smallest sensor camera: OMDS - receive the most praise. I have found its the lenses and the camera body that feels the best in your hands are what creates that image, not the camera sensor size and megapixel count. The camera that is best will be dependent on which camera body (and lenses) feel most comfortable in your hands, in conjunction to which menu system makes the most logical sense. This answer is custom to each individual person. What works best for me and my use cases may/may not work for you and vice-versa. We benefit from having a large selection of choices.
First part of the video complained about A.I., next part praised A.I. probably could it be because of being a fanboy? BTW the irony is Chris' camera was out of focus almost all through and he was the one that hopped on the topic of autofocus the most and think Jordan had the most balanced and unbiased judgment and opinion on all the camera brands. Great podcast Stalman+... thanks
The ironic part for me is Bezos saved the “Washington Post” ,but he doesn’t see the value of “DP Review “ . Surety, “DP Review requires less subsidy than the WP.
I spent years shooting with all major camera brands. And the most troublesome when it comes to post-processing is Sony. People are correct saying that Sony has bad colors, or more correctly in some light situations (especially some artificial lights) some colors (skin in particular) are bad beyond repair. In daylight all cameras are capable of producing good colors. Neither I'm a fan of Canon, though I was ok with their skin colors, shooting the nature with Canon is evoking too much profanities towards the camera, and the company in general. Moreover, Canon body customization is awful. There aren't perfect cameras that would check all the boxes, but Nikon is the brand that I'm least disappointed with.
I'm a full-time professional hybrid shooter. and I shoot all brands: Sony, Nikon, Canon. The colors for stills on my Sony A7iv are appalling and quite frankly disgusting. For stills, my fav is the Nikon Z6ii. The images have "soul", after that Canon R5 - which still have great colors - but very neutral and clinical "Feel" to the images. I don't use Sony for stills at all. even if the Sony Raw files are flexible - takes me more time to get it where I want to - So my go-to for stills are the Nikon and Canon. For video I still prefer the Sony - even if the colors suck it just works, and so reliably. Canon R5 video colors are great, but the interface is clunky. AF not reliable and not very comfy to operate. The Nikon Z6ii has good colors, but 8-bit only, and mine stops recording randomly which makes me nervous. so the Video goes to Sony.
3000$ Canadian body only for ZVE1. A big no. Is missing a lot of pro features. Also I watched the videos that creators shot and were underwhelming. Influencers just got free samples and they overhyped the camera. Much better choices like FX30 S5ii. Do creators need Full Frame?
I'm noticing you're right, every new piece of gear is overhyped, even from the channels that claim to buy the products themselves. I will say one of the creators using the zv-e1 made the difference for me by showing his process step by step - Reilin Joey. I highly recommend watching if you are still interested in smaller form factor cameras.
I'm so glad you guys mentioned sonys lack of retrograding features to existing models 😢 things like bird eye autofocus , being added to cameras like the a7r4 . People spend 1000's of pounds and are brand loyal .. but certainly can't afford to upgrade every few months. People are looking for feature upgrades on existing equipment ... for gods sake even things like use of touch screen on menus or indeed adding the new menu to older models .. when other manufactures can add new features . Why can't Sony 😮😮 people will move to manufacturers that will .
I had A7III and A7IV.. now Canon R5, never been happier. Only thing I miss from Sony is that I could use HDMI output and cameras LCD screen at the same time while shooting stills..
Lol yea Pentax is the best at not being sold anywhere. Never seen anyone shooting a Pentax..... Pentax is so good that no one uses it as it's simply too good!
What allowed us to get so far as humans is the preservation of past knowledge, so we can build upon it. It is quite sad that our throwaway culture is starting to forget that.
Loved to see you guys together again. I wear glasses. Do I need a camera with EVF or I will be fine relying on the screen from ZVE1? I am debating between this one and Lumix S5mark 2. I live in Texas and it gets hot.
I'd agree with the others. I'm in Phoenix and just got the zv-e1. So far no issues from the heat, and as I refine my settings I can trust the autofocus and can see the box on target that my cell phone doesn't have. If you hate using your phone screen as the primary way you frame your shot or video it'll be hard, but if you can get used to it, it's part of what makes the small size. If size doesn't matter to you, get a full size camera, possibly when the next new ones come out.
1:1 SQUARE SENSORS is what I say since almot 10 years, first time I hear it in a "mainstream-very-professional" discution. About time, so many advantages it would give...crazy they still argue with cost of bigger sensors. Because lenses would not need to be redesigned , theyr image projection circle are totally underused ; Huge surface gain from 24x24 to 36x36, variable ratios in de finder with internal shift (!), longer than 36mm 'panorama' video, and with round sensor you could add autolevelling in full frame, the camera body, and lens buttons layouts can be optimized for "one orientation hand only', ...,)
That's not how it works though. Sensors reach near the edges of the image circle. By using a rectangle you get more pixels in one direction and fewer in the other, and this gives you flexibility to choose your orientation. If you have a square sensor, you'll end up with pixels in one of the directions and not choose if you want more pixels vertically or gorizontally
@@bluecollar8525 I guess that there is a misunderstanding since I (at this stage) dont understand anything of what You explain here. What's the misunderstanding... 'My' sensor would be square with the 4 equal lengths, each equal the lengths of a diagonal of a 24x36mm. Then, in the finder (or on your pc) you'd dial in the cropp you want to frame with. My argument is that this formula would not need to redesign lenses (of any size-system) as they do cover that that space already, but are under-used.
22:05 the "amazing backup camera" argument for any camera that crops in for certain modes or has a cropped sensor falls flat when coupled with what was said a couple of minutes earlier, "just make sure you take account of the crop in your lens selection". What are you gonna do, carry two sets of lenses, one for your main camera, one for your cheap backup camera? Much better to have consistent sensor sizes in main and backup camera, whether that is both 35mm or both crop.
You missed the major reason they killed dpreview, Amazon has it's own built in review system and it doesn't incentivize negative reviews. Because that would lower their sales and through-traffic.
Tbh I don’t really understand the ZVE1. It’s only really useful as a vlogger camera but since it’s really expensive you’d have to be a very successful vlogger for it to make any sense. Or have a lot of money. If a great video camera that’s fit for professional video production is needed the FX30 is far superior in that price bracket.
There are plenty of people who have a lot of money that want the "best" of its kind. The ZV-E1 will fit that bill of best amateur vlogger camera for presumably a lot of people. The FX30 is a completely different type of camera; not even comparable except perhaps in price.
DPReview was my go to site for information when I wanted to know how a particular camera performed, so that I could make a good informed decision. It helped me in comparing various camera systems if I was considering going from Sony to Canon, as an example. Sadly, if you purchase an Olympus, you need to be prepared to stick with it because no one is buying them here in my area. I have one for sale and no one wants it, not even the Camera Store where I bought it. For some reason, Micro Four Thirds is a niche, so, if I ever want to switch to Fuji, I will have to find an actual Camera Store who sells Olympus Cameras in-house. Four Olympus Cameras to trade at some point. KEH might get a couple. Something told me to choose Fuji. OM Systems appears to have their issues, from what I am seeing on RUclips. I have an E-PL10, E-M1, Pen E-P5 and E-M10 MkIV. Olympus lenses on these bodies perform best, my Panasonic/Lumix lenses not so well, however, software can adjust for that in post processing. The E-M1, purchased through KEH performs great. The PL10 and MkIV are considered entry-level in their tier. The E-P5 is a remarkable camera and considered a classic. I have the optional eyecup which is nice. E-M1 and E-P5 were both purchased from KEH, shutter count was really low, which surprised me. Wished I would have kept my Fujifilm X-T3 I had years ago. COVID took out a lot of Camera Shops and we lost one in our city that actually sold Olympus 3.5 years ago, probably to Amazon or another online distributor. The internet is destroying family shops in all walks of life involving tech.
Why not just stick with the gear you have. Olympus and OM systems cameras ar great, I have the omd 1 mark ll, lll, Em1X and the OM 1 and use them all for diffent things. I realy don't care what my friends or other people use as long as my gear fits my needs. The larger sensor mirrorless cameras are 1. More expensive 2. Heavier espessiully the lenses 3. Have less functions. I would never be able to carry two or three cameras with different lenses with me if I had fullframe, but with olympus/OM 1 that's possible. And the image quality is exelent.
@@TheSannaeriksson I will be doing that. Just a little bit sad when I learned the PL10 was only good on Auto, if that, plus, I had to get suggested settings by watching PL9 videos. Not to mention there didn't seem to be anything forthcoming that Olympus was seemingly going a different direction and becoming OM Systems. I enjoy shooting with them and they do take great out the camera pictures. My son wants the PL10 as his 1st camera, so, I can teach him how to use it. He seems to have a knack for seeing things differently when we are out shooting that I miss, so, maybe he can teach me some things.
We lost all our camera shops long before Covid. I think one of the problems was greedy landlords charging too much for the shops. Also the smart phone has made big inroads into photography and they are sold in different shops.
Fuji - I'm still trying to get the best out of my X100T. I love (still using) my Fuji x30, now £200 more used over the cost of buying new. Also the Fuji xq2. Panasonic abandoned their M23 X80 /85 X9 line. I genuinely believe that, certainly given used prices, smaller cameras either with fixed zoom or interchangeable lens are still much in demand in the market.
Nikon is lagging because Sony Marketing has done a better job buying RUclips photography influencers. We are now trained that photography is not possible without eye-AF. We are also trained that everyone buying a dedicated camera is a social media creator, everyone else should simply use their iPhone. Without the eye [pupil, not eye-lashes] in focus, the image will simply fail on IG when seen on people's phones! The YT video will be a disaster! Sports photographers should give up if the eye is out of focus, nobody will care about the image! Sony has trains YT photographers to hammer this home very well. We should also simply switch systems very 2-3 years, because Sony will have cool new tech that we MUST have!
I’ve been rocking my canon r5c for photos and video. Big fanny back and all. Love the ergo and Iq. i have no issues with clog3. But I’m not a full time colorist.
The question I have, which is important to me, is the question of what are these two guys, who I watch all the time, are going to do now? In the last two weeks, or so, they haven’t been on DPReview.
I agree with Chris. Much is discussed about FF cameras, DR, IQ, AF, but fundamental factors are forgotten: durability, fun and usability. The discussion about performance and maximum image quality as a main focus can be important in some cases and above all for extreme professional use, but this discussion is fundamentally meaningless for the use of a camera in general, whether professionally in non-extreme situations, either as a hobby. The phrase that the best camera is the one you bring with you is true. And I mean CAMERAS, not Smartphones. Because Smartphones meet a good demand from the photographic universe, but they don't meet those who want something more. Smartphones do not allow the use of big lenses and are not capable of quality macro photography, in addition to suffering even more from the limitations of a smaller sensor. They are good for snapshots. It seems that there is reductionism at work: either you shoot with Smartphones or you need a FF, which is silly! For luckily we, professionals and amateurs of photography, have a good variety of tools to choose from. So I find it regrettable that these hypes lead the consumer market to almost condemn systems and manufacturers, reducing and not increasing the palette of options that exist! I have Panasonic, Sony, Nikon and Olympus/OM Cameras. Each has its appropriate use. But the Camera I use most of the time is the OM-1 (and the em-1iii), and for one simple reason: FUN!!!
@@TAdams-hx9lk These days, with the current massacre of nature and wild animals, anyone who “enjoys” hunting and “killing” living beings is either uninformed, or alienated, or needs a psychiatrist!
FWIW I like the look of Lumix cameras, but then I liked Contax/Yashica in film days. Fujifilm also do the boxy look well. Least favourite are Canon, though I used them for years and still have an aps-c Canon. That jelly mould thing they've hung onto since the T90, through EOS days to the R-series doesn't do it for me.
We need more of these videos. Thank you for giving a 3 point angle and perspective on these cameras and photo/videography.

Jordan was prophetic. The new Z8 is going to be a very successful release for Nikon. It's the whole D3/D700 all over again.
lol that didn't work out too well for Nikon, did it? They really must just have the worst PR team ever. I really don't know what else it could be with them. Their cameras are great... Their PR team? Not so much.
@@intellatek what are you rambling on about? The Z8 is a huge success for Nikon and was back ordered for months after launch.
Great video. Nice to see Chris and Jordan are doing well. I always enjoy them.
Love it! Glad to see you here!
I love chris' backdrop very well thought out and pleasingly simplistic
Great video! I shoot Pentax for landscapes and seascapes, Fujifilm for street, and hope to sell my Canon gear and buy the LUMIX S5ii this year for video work. Different tools for different jobs!
Sounds like a lot of different brands for your work. Hope you can use adapted lenses across the different brands.

Why have no camera people talked about the Fuji X-2hs COOLING FAN?
Sold separately, it is powered and controlled from the camera. Thats incredible for video.
Because it's sold separately and is mounted to where the display sits
because the majority belong to the sony sect, and have no will to think.
As an enthusiast, I love the fuji cropped sensor cameras and lens lineup.
That was a great podcast, thanks all!
What camera would you choose, the Sony fx3 or the canon r6 mark 2? For documentary/vlog content, I also take pictures occasionally. Great Content.

If you're confused about Sony's implementation then you don't know Sony. This has been happening for decades. They're a consumer electronics company, not a camera/optical company. Sony's firmware update means...buy our new camera. This will not change and is the Sony Way.
Need an update with the Nikon Z8

Hello gents,
Nice video, good discussion, for professional use a agree, but for daily use I am very happy using the OM-system, and so are my clients.
Great point, it’s definitely not an entry L price. More like premium hobbiest
Imma let you finish, but Nikon has the best lineup of f/1.8 lenses of all time.
And most expensive lol
I totally agree about the S-Cinetone. It’s great for indoor settings without much dynamic range, but outdoors it gives up way too much. SLOG3 4 life 😂
DPReview was a great thing, sad to lose that. But the main reason I visited the site has always been Chris and Jordan.
Not too take anything away from the accomplishments of Jordan and Chris, but I’d like to see someone interview Phil Askey
24:30 I use a browser plugin for forced 4k Video so that I don´t have to klick on every video through the video settings
Great tip!
Great chat guys!
I wish Amazon would just sell DPreview to someone who is willing to continue the site.
can we crowd source fund it like a wikipedia?
OM System is where I am at. If I absolutely needed a full frame, itd be a Lumix or a Canon.
The “why cant be all this great luts in camera” is on point😢
I think the Z mount is very versatile. I have the Sony A7III and I am ordering the Z8, but with a very thin adapter, I can mount Sony Sigma lens to the Nikon and get exceptional results.
Great discussion, well done.

You could’ve atleast mentioned OM Systems in the video title considering that Chris and Jordan bring it up
I have used many systems over the digital decades (Canon [FF & APSC], Sony [APSC], Fuji [MF], and OMDS/Olympus) and the photographs I have taken with my my MFT camera -the smallest sensor camera: OMDS - receive the most praise.
Why arent there commands for the AF if there is KI like processing in it! "Fokus on the persons spot" or so. It could ask questions too. O_o
But dpreview is still there, isn't it?
Z8?
@@ivangrifi I don't own a Z8 yet. but video specs are the best
Totally pointless debate. Pentax is best, always, forever.

I’d have a hard time getting by without an EVF, especially if you spend a lot of time outside
In the long run, there are many situations where an EVF is required. Did you check out the A7iv? Sony’s E mount is great for lens selection.
@@RandumbTech yes i can look into that too thanks
If you have trouble with a smartphone outdoors, you will have the same problem with a camera that relies on a screen only as well.
Hello youtube world...I've no so much time so with a budget of 1500$ mostly for nature pics...which one do you suggest? Thanks everyone for your help!
I'm guessing this video was filmed before the Z8 announcements.

Id buy an EVF accessory for the ZV-E1
Will be interesting to see how the Nikon Z8 turns out. Will it be a mini Z9?
yes
Fuji - I'm still trying to get the best out of my X100T. I love (still using) my Fuji x30, now £200 more used over the cost of buying new. Also the Fuji xq2. Panasonic abandoned their M23 X80 /85 X9 line. I genuinely believe that, certainly given used prices, smaller cameras either with fixed zoom or interchangeable lens are still much in demand in the market.
awesome discussion guys, really appreciate your inputs.... zen billings

No crop at 60fps is big for me. Most other have some limitations here. Canon keeps it real.

Rather than square, camera's sensors should be round - the same as most lenses. This will make shot levelling and aspect ratio easy to change.
