Caught this on an eastbound in Vancouver, WA. This old GP9 used to be in revenue service on a local shortline in the PNW, and was being shipped to a new owner.

There goes Willamette and Pacific #1801. Its also been bought by BUGX aka DieselMotive Company Inc of Northern California. Idk what they plan to do with #1501 and #1801. I didnt expect DieselMotive Company Inc to return to Portland and Western Railroad and acquire a second one.
I’m relieved that 1801 wasn’t sent for scrap. This classic locomotive will be missed, but it’s going to a new location. Seen it in Eugene before at least once in my life.
I used to work in Tigard near PNWR tracks and I remember this guy passing through on a regular basis, and once on UP mainline in portland maybe headed down to AER?. Glad to see it's still going and in the classic livery. What's BUGX?
BUGX is the new owner that this engine was being shipped to.
BUGX is the reporting mark of DieselMotive Company Inc of Northern California. It's run by a super rich Southern Pacific fan named Noah McCann.
Cool😊
This train is the H-VAWFRS
I’m glad I went to albany before it left
It’s that an ex SP gp9?
Yes
@@844Steamtrain no way !!! They should give it to either the CSRM California State Railroad Museum or the Niles Canyon Railway
@@Railfan-uf9mw Rumor has it that it's destined for Oklahoma railway museum (along with PNWR 1501)
