    2/18/2024. This was one of the last runs of this EMD SD9 in revenue service from Tigard to Linnton, OR over Cornelius Pass. This was PNWR 1854, originally built for Southern Pacific.
    At the time this video was produced, PNWR had been getting rid of their former SD9's, and replacing them with newer power. There are not many of these engines left in North America.

    PNWR #1854's last days in service due to the EPA scandal. Dont worry, she's saved. She was donated to ORHC

    Can it be possible if this locomotive SD9 can be restored back to SP colors?

      Unless a buyer like BUGX comes along, it is very likely to be scrapped.

      ​@@Railfan-uf9mwBUGX is a railroad company. They currently own the former PNWR 1501 (SD7)

      It will be restored back in to SP grey and red and kept operating. It’ll be donated to the Oregon Rail Heritage Center in Portland.

    I love that locomotive!! The high front hood and the 6 axles just say heavy duty workhorse
