So. Many. Beautiful. Browns! LTB Sesame Oil is highest on my wishlist now, as every time I see it I like it more and more. I believe you can order bottles of Papier Plume inks straight from their store (which is based in New Orleans). Thanks for yet another beautiful selection of inks, and for your detailed commentary!
This video was a huge informant in choosing my first brown ink. Ironically, it ended up being one that’s not on the list, but it still helped figure out which type of brown ink I like and which ones I’m more partial to, thank you!
I love brown ink, it's warm with vintage vibes yet is neutral enough to be all-purpose. My go-to currently is FWP Steeped Umber and my TWSBI Creme is dedicated to it. I love it since it reminds me of tea. I'm on the hunt for other brown inks to try though. I think I'm a fan of deep rich saturated browns with good shading. My favorites of this video are Colorverse Coffee Break and Sepia Black. ✨Stunning.✨
Looooooove a page of browns ♡♡♡ Lately, I've been loving Taccia- benitsuchi! My best advice for reading Japanese is to read the consonants hard, and use Spanish vowels. 😊
I love you ink exploration videos! I get to see SO many different shades of the same color from different brands. I really enjoy it!! You really have collected a lot of browns and I love that because that means we get to see quite a spectrum of inks. Thank you for all your hard work putting this video together. My favorite brown ink is from Taccia. There are several names on the box but I think the color is Benitsuchi. I ordered the ink from Jet Pens. It is from Japan. It is a beautiful brownish-red. So perfect for fall. Do you have a P.O. Box? I would love to send you a sample! I really enjoyed your video! Thanks again!🤎🤎🤎
I LOVEEEE browns. It's a tie between browns and dusty pinks. Always have DeAtramentis Document Urban Sienna in a pen. Writing desk is also a love of mine. Just received Sesame Oil but haven't yet tried it in a pen. It's so lovely though. I'm looking forward to it. Thank you for the time and money you spend to show us all these beautiful things. I really enjoy your channel.
I wish they had Urban Sienna available when I bought my Document Brown, because I would use that one more often. Debating buying some because currently I’m mixing Document yellow and brown. Lol.
Great brown ink review, Danielle. My favourite colour for pens and ink. Pecan is one of Papier Plume's standard colours and will be available on their website. Probably more detail than needed, but Van Dieman's (deemans) Ink is based out of Tasmania, Australia. Tasmania was originally named Anthoonij van Diemenslandt (Anthony Van Diemen's land) - try pronouncing that!!! This was after the name of the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) and given by the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman, who was the first known European to land in Tasmania in 1642. The name was Anglicised by British settlers to just Van Dieman's Land and then changed to Tasmania in 1856.
I could talk about ink all day... I love brown inks and have over 36 brown ink samples and bottles in my collection... I have to continue to remind myself not to buy anymore brown inks... I say this while I have 3 bottles of brown inks in my cart at Vanness 🤣 and yeah, I'm gonna buy them as soon as possible ♥ The Inkebara Brown Grey reminds me of a Birmingham Pen Co color Burlap, it has similar grayish brown tone as the Inkebara Brown Grey. I also have Lennon Tool Bar Sesame Oil and it wasn't as unique as I thought it was in 2021 (I waited 3 years for it to come back in stock), and to me it's just an okay brown. I still bought a bottle anyway. But It's been a popular bown and I have to have it. I love Platinum Sepia Black ink and I use it to substitute for a black ink in my pens. I love the Birmingham Pen Co's Sandstone ink... It's so pretty, I'm a sucker for a light brown and that one is special... I love BPC inks... I use my brown inks all year around. Light brown shading inks are my very favorite inks, I think yellow brown greens are my second favorite inks. Off topic, but currently I'm digging FWP Goose Poupon in my Nagahara Needlepoint nib... Oh and the Papier Plume Moss Green in my Pelikan M600 EF it's such a great green, I. love. That. Ink... Thank you for talking about it in your ink videos. I have a bottle in my cart waiting for finish my next purchase... I think It is so strange what fountain inks I like these days, I never thought I would love brown and green inks... Three of my favorite brown inks I can't find in the US that I love are Inkebara Earth (can't find this ink anywhere), Scribo Rosa Antico, and Color Traveler Sea Eel Rice Beige (I only found 3 sample vials of these inks), I can only find these two inks in Europe and shipping is more than the ink costs.... I just can't see spending the shipping money and I'm looking for dupes At the moment, I am trying so hard not to buy anymore ink for a while... I have a new pen on the way. I'm kicking myself because I didn't buy a matching ink for it 🤦♀🤣 As I have said many times, I love your ink swatching videos. Your channel is one of my favorites. And the best ink swatching videos on YT
I love brown inks. They remind me of really old letters written with iron gall ink that has rusted and browned over the decades. My favorite browns are discontinued- Iro Tsukushi and Edelstein Smoky Quartz.
this is such a good selection of browns! thanks so much for sharing. i def want to try some of these, as brown is probably my favourite ink colour. my go to is Diamine Chocolate Brown :)
I guess so far, my favorite brown was Diamine Winter Spice and Diamine Cocoa Shimmer, which I only have samples of. I do like Tobacco Sunburst. I am currently mixing a golden brown from DeAtramentis Doc yellow and brown, with a touch of document Fuschia. Just trying to use up what I have.
Lovely colors, thank you for sharing! Re: "Ginza" pronunciation....it has the same G sound like Gold or Godzilla :P As far as browns that are go-to for me, I only have a full bottle of De Atramentis Document Brown. If I had to buy another bottle, I have Noodler's Whaleman's Sepia (Goulet exclusive) on my list. It's a lovely dusty brown with slight waterproofness. Not enough to use for my watercolor drawings, but enough so that the words won't noticeably fade away with a water spill if I needed it for writing purposes. For drawing purposes, I really enjoy mixing the R&K SketchInks to get my desired brown to match my particular mood/watercolor color palette at the moment. I'd love to try more browns in general though....like you said, browns are so versatile...they can be used the whole year
My favorite brown inks are J. Herbin Cacao du Brésil and KWZ Honey. Love your swatching videos! I got a kick out of your use of the word "nifty". It was very popular in the 1950's and early 60's. Also, I am always bamboozled by your use of the phrase "If I am being honest." It always makes wonder if you are are, or are not being honest. I think it has to do with the difference in our ages, but yeah, it bugs me. I can't help it. Great video, and thank you so much! Lisa

I’m just starting out, so I only have the one brown so far (diamine desert burst). I wanted tobacco sunburst but they’re so close in colour and I went with the one that was available. I find I’m more interested in lighter-to-medium browns that shade nicely, and I like green/yellow undertones (which checks out because I love swampy-olive greens). Also I love how your bottom swatches look like animals. The one on the right looks like a pig and the one on the left I can’t quite put my finger on.
