This is a Keno $1 million dollar ticket(before taxes) home that the owners tried to emulate the style of a Powerball winning ticket home. To built this so close to a strip mall, on that tiny lot with all of the tacky chandeliers means these the owners were definitely Hood Rich for a hot second!
It needs a savvy realtor who will convince the seller to spend about 150k to get the house ready for market. Start by removing all the chandeliers, stage the entire house with tasteful, high-end furniture. Clean up the outside. Remove the drapery and any other "personal taste" features like the vanity sinks. Refinish the bedrooms wood flooring to match the rest of the house. Paint the kitchen cabinets white.Figure out a better location for both fridges. Enlarge the master bedroom closet.
Nice house to turn into maybe 4 or 5 apts. There’s plenty of parking, bathrooms, kitchens, and yard space. Ad would say close to the road, shopping center and quiet inside.
There’s definitely a story behind this house. The number of dining areas are excessive. I don’t know what to think. Was this a spontaneous project? Did the owners win or inherit a large amount of money? Did they eventually run out of money? Were they given bad advice? Did the contractor swindle them or go along with questionable building practices? I would talk to the neighbors.
I had a friend in high school whos mom was from Italy. They had a kitchen in their basement (nothing like THAT kitchen! LOL) but that was the mom's "cooking kitchen." And she was an AMAZING cook! The upstairs/main kitchen was like "just for show" and was always immaculate. The real cooking happened downstairs. LOL
How long do I think this mismatched oversized for the neighborhood, hodgepodge house will stay on the market? Forever unless they lower the price to one million. The buyer would need the other million to fix all the mistakes.
Are you sure that this house is 10 years old? Only asking because between the funeral parlor drapes, that dated kitchen, the hodgepodge of floor coverings, the multiple chandeliers and those columns it seems a bit older than that.
It looks at least 20 years old to me, judging from the bathrooms. And no one in their right mind places a toilet where you practically trip on it as you walk in. IMO even if the house was built in 2014, it was designed 20 years earlier.
What a monstrosity 😳 nothing is working well the front doors are really nice and the kitchen isn’t so bad but…the location and the floor plan is a big NO
The steps are to put theater seats on! I like this house😅 it's a disaster but it's got personality! I wish we could see how the owners decorated it. Great video, keep it up!🎉
Design wise first thing that popped in my head was gone with the wind but the space itself is awesome. I noticed in every room it had a it extra wasted space. The kitchen you can make work with solid color countertops in different flooring bring it up todate, but the location makes it a PASS FOR PRIVACY AND SECURITY CONCERN
At 1st I thought that was a converted office building, obviously thought wrong. Going inside was thinking not too bad, then you went into the primary. 100% downhill from that point on. By the end, all I thought was "WOW What were they thinking?!"
I agree with you. Most of the chandeliers in this house just do not fit! The bedrooms are sooooo big! I love lots of room, but somehow the rooms Don't seem to fit!
Definitely a DIYer looks like they were making it up as they went along. No contractor will put in a fridge where you can't even open the door all the way
This could be turned into a tourist mansion. Just need to find some historical figure that visited or once lived on that land. Great bed-n-breakfast hotel type as well.
You know this house is an example of “New Money”. The builder and contractor surely were unlicensed relatives of the owners, who gave them the homeboy hookup.
First of all, this house has a lot of potential. Before we pay for the asking price, lets do some common sense math. the amount a buyer is willing to pay =Asking price minus major renovations expenses (main kitchen, floor changes, light fixture replacement, walking shower in the primary (15:12), walking closet(16:45), basement indoor pool(22:49) and kitchen (18:34)demo).
18:40 - this house was DEFINITELY built by a handyman/owner/resident/general contractor. Nothing matches because they used leftovers from client projects. I would love to see if any of this work was permitted.
This is in Forestville MD. Down the street from Forestville Mall. Once I saw the medical building I knew EXACTLY where it was! plus, it also looks like Chateau Sheree from Real Housewives of Atl
Maybe it was built by an adult child for an older parent who did not (maybe already owned the land) want to leave the neighborhood. Adult child and grandchildren lived upstairs (hence jack and jill bathrooms), and older grandparent lived downstairs. Downstairs, older grandparent used the pool for exercise therapy, and entire fam could get together downstairs for movie night.
IMO this house was designed 20 years before it was built. That would at least explain the bathrooms, narrow hallways, and lack of closets. Even the garage is small!
A lot of wasted space. Too many different flooring. They need to go in and we do a lot of stuff to get that type of money meaning like take some of those personalized chandeliers out and put in something that's more contemporary or to other people's liking.
The house is too big and so out of place for this neighborhood. There is hardly any backyard space. As for the indoor pool, it looks just like one of those lap pools. The kids won't like it. I would hate to think about how much furniture would be needed to fill all of space in the house. Other than the downstairs kitchen, not many things really peaked my interests.
this is a very tough sell, it will have to be a specific person, and that person will not care about privacy, noise and this would be their only or last home and it will always be tough to sell this home, I wouldnt buy it, if I had 2 million to throw away.
The house looks as if it was built by the owner of a construction company that used a mix of left over items from other builds. Everything in the home was mismatched and looked as some of it was from the clearance sections of a variety of shops. The neighborhood alone is a deal breaker.
Unless they do a big reduction this house will sit for over a year. There's a lot of work that needs to be done, both kitchens needs a lot of work, it look like they may have had carpet in the bedrooms and took it out and put in whatever flooring was available. That pool has to go and there's enough space for 10 people or more to live there. What a waste of money.
This home is giving nursing home with all the dining areas. Normally I love a large home for my family but I pass on this home, not enough yard for a home this size. The money needed to fix this home is a pass for me.
The inconsistencies in flooring, lighting, and location of appliances are minor concerns. The additional/duplicating spaces should simply be appreciated, as they invite creativity. As far as location is concerned, it is not ideal for family living. For invest purposes, this property abounds with endless opportunities for event hosting and short-term rentals. Thank you
I had a second thought. There is probably no other single family home in the area that would compare at this selling price. I thought the rule was never over improve your home, check the comps in the area before you agree to build or over improve your property unless you plan to live in the home for life. If you sell comps have to be considered for setting a selling price or take your chances ask high but know you may lose a lot of money.
I'm going to guess that that open space to the right of the living room was probably a family room since it had a TV hookup. And maybe that chandelier was low because it was over a coffee table...
I’m at a loss with this one. It looks like the owners won the lottery, built this house, and moved their entire family in it. On the plus side, the main floor can be rented out to a production company looking for a certain period aesthetic.
The house could be very nice if brought up to date. The master closet was very small. The kitchen is French traditional but not configured, right. The theater was a joke. I’d laugh so hard. I was crying at the seats.
In a reverse universe the house would have been there first and the smaller houses were bringing the numbers down in the neighborhood. That railing leading to the lower level was scary, it literally was a death trap. I do not think anyone is going to buy that house anytime soon. If it does sell they would have to price it between six and seven hundred thousand dollars. Or, maybe give it away in a raffle. We crack you up Jonathan, it is the other way around, you crack us up. You make our day. Please let us know in one of your videos when the house does sell, even if it 2 years from now. I do not think your followers will ever forget this tour.
This won't sell for more than1.75 and that's being very generous. I think the previous owners did a lot of personalization and maybe had an elder living with them so mom had her own basement kitchen/pool for rehab and there was lots of space for family visits. But there's too much indoor space and not enough outdoor space and houses at this price point shouldn't have doors banging into each other to enter the bathroom. If they can move this house to a different lot and start over with a house scaled for the neighborhood then it may be worth the investment. Otherwise, the amount of money needed to fix this house may be better spent on a new build elsewhere.
The neighbor across the street is a hoarder😂... If the house was further up the street that would be cool. The pool, movie room at wasted space/layout will keep buyers at bay. Had wow factor tho in good and bad ways 🤣😅
A 10 year old house shouldn’t have anything outdated considering it’s not that old, I was told if the items can be found in the store they’re not outdated that’s just a tasteless person. Not going to sell for that it needs to be dropped by 800,000.
Maybe this property could be AB&B or event rental space depending on the surrounding area. Otherwise because of Post Covid desire to have more exterior space, a home this large in a unlike community leaves a lot to be desired.
A house built by committee. This house may get very lonely for a family. What's up with those tiny closets all 'round -- crazy. Tons of wasted space. The pool is just nuts. You suppose the owners went off their medication or what? Kitchen not good. The list goes on and on, Jon. I can't think of anything good to say about it. lol
The neighborhood doesn't bother me. The lot size bothers me. The layout bothers me. Wouldn't buy it for 2 million, have to renovate too much. Basically would need to redo the entire layout.
The location is the initial issue, while the interior design is another concern. The high price will have to be reduced significantly mainly due to the complete overhaul required for the kitchen and master bath.
They will still be trying to sell that monstrosity 5 years from now. If I had that kind of money, I certainly would not spend it on that location. The house is totally out of place. It's a weird lay out even for a party house. I would need to use one of the bedrooms to build a closet. Too much revamping to be done. I bet you they couldn't afford the land in an affluent area, so they opted to build it there.
Hey Jonathan. I have been watching your videos for about 2 months now. I'm nowhere close to your area (I'm I NJ), but I enjoy your videos/personality. 😊 This house was definitely designed for the original owner and it will take someone similar to it (I wouldn't if I had $2.3m). I also wonder if the previous occupant took some chandeliers with them. Otherwise, the mismatch makes no sense.
I’m going to try to be as nice as I can, it seems to me that the builder had an end to builder’s surplus. At first glance, the exterior had flagstone at the gates but walls of cider block. Too much hodge podge.
Yes, lottery winner or someone from American Greed. Came into a lot of money and itching to spend it. The bedrooms look like the children needed chandeliers in their bedrooms. Am I correct that there was only one bathroom on the main floor!
The self-indulgence of these homes blows my mind. Selfish, too. I see no effort to limit power use: no solar, no mini-splits, no heat pumps, no extensive insulation, no efficient water heaters.... Instead, this is another example of a gas guzzler: colossal rooms, extremely high ceilings, too many rooms unless you're indulging in large parties,. The bathrooms have no style or elegance. The fake floors. The faux pilasters. And the Victorian curtains are just oh-so-no. That tub looks like an outsize toilet. This house is not current any way to Sundays. It's not just that it's the wrong house on the wrong road and dated, but it's thoughtless: there's no indication that the designers or owners ever sided with the rest of us in being concerned with climate change and the need for energy efficiencies. It's a Roman party palace, right out of the Satyricon. Why, it's even got a hang-out pool. Just needs drunk and drugged partiers in togas.
If I ever build a two story home the living/sleeping spaces are gonna be main floor. The entertainment is gonna be upstairs. I’m not trying to climb stairs all my life.
If you want, you could buy up the whole cul-de-sac and they could all move away and then you would have a bigger lot :-) put in a pond - enough said -you’re close to town
It looks like the people who built the house came into a large sum of money and just wanted to get everything in a home that they ever imagined they would get if they had the money so they just shoved it all in there regardless of what it look like. They may have also wanted to flex a little bit by building a house of that size in a neighborhood like that. I feel like I would drop 1.5 mil off the asking price because of the location and the personalization alone. So much of it would have to be redone anyway to work for whoever would move in next. It could be an Airbnb if they decide not to change it but even then, it stands that this is a very very personalized house.
The house does not fit the neighborhood and bad location next to a busy road. Too much wasted space. Nice large kitchen but needs new cabinet doors and appliances need to be relocated. I was shocked there was no laundry room for the washer and dryer. The primary suite bathroom and closet were disappointing. They could have made the primary bedroom a little smaller and the closet and shower could have been larger.
That house looks like it was built by someone that won the lottery, but they didn't want to leave the neighborhood.
😂😂 That's exactly what it looks like.
Exactly!!!
😂😂😂then they lost the rest of the money😂😂😂
😂💯
Right? Family told them "don't forget where you came from", so he/she didn't want to disappoint them, but still wanted to live large. Win win 😂
You know the neighbors were pissed when that behemoth went up.
I don't blame them!
well it is love hate.... It elevated their home value.... but it also elevated their property taxes....lol
Maybe this can be repurposed for a bed and breakfast spot, rental for event space/ parties, or use for reality tv house.
This house should be a wedding or event venue.
That's exactly what I thought.. definitely could be an event space..
it looks like the community signing office/neighborhood clubhouse.
No parking for events
This is a Keno $1 million dollar ticket(before taxes) home that the owners tried to emulate the style of a Powerball winning ticket home. To built this so close to a strip mall, on that tiny lot with all of the tacky chandeliers means these the owners were definitely Hood Rich for a hot second!
😂😂😂😂 bet on hood rich
Never buy the biggest home in the neighborhood. Guaranteed to lose value unless you keep it long term.
It needs a savvy realtor who will convince the seller to spend about 150k to get the house ready for market. Start by removing all the chandeliers, stage the entire house with tasteful, high-end furniture. Clean up the outside. This would be a great investment property for a beautiful boutique Bed and Breakfast ..
There’s definitely a story behind this house. The number of dining areas are excessive. I don’t know what to think. Was this a spontaneous project? Did the owners win or inherit a large amount of money? Did they eventually run out of money? Were they given bad advice? Great question! Seems like a combination of all of the above.
LOL
Y’all hit the nail on the head in the comments: Poor taste. They probably couldn’t afford the land in a better location
How long do I think this mismatched oversized for the neighborhood, hodgepodge house will stay on the market? Forever unless they lower the price to one million. The buyer would need the other million to fix all the mistakes.
True.
Instead of the chandeliers, they should have put in ceiling fans.
I think this house going to be on the market for over a year. And the price going to reduce significantly.
Very interesting home is all I can say
I wonder if it was a bed and breakfast before?
The handrail to the basement looks like something you’d see at Walmart.
Funeral parlor drapes 😂 I haven’t seen those in a house in a minute
Looks like a lottery winner’s home who didn’t want to leave their neighborhood.
🤣😂🤣
Definitely should be an event space for weddings, office parties, grad parties, etc. It would have to be remodeled, but it could work.

The kitchen you can make work with solid color countertops in different flooring bring it up todate, but the location makes it a PASS FOR PRIVACY AND SECURITY CONCERN
This house looks like Dr Frankenstein's attempt on going modern with an epic fail. 💀☠️💀😂😂😂
I would change the kitchen but the outlets along the wall under the cabinets are great. Can never have enough outlets
At 1st I thought that was a converted office building, obviously thought wrong. Going inside was thinking not too bad, then you went into the primary. 100% downhill from that point on. By the end, all I thought was "WOW What were they thinking?!"
We're going to get you one of those shiny RUclips plaques... WATCH!
This is definitely an event center /space/house 100% there is no doubt in my mind definitely used for cocktail parties small weddings etc
I agree with you. Most of the chandeliers in this house just do not fit! The bedrooms are sooooo big! I love lots of room, but somehow the rooms Don't seem to fit!
Botch renovation looks like a diy with no sense of style
Definitely a DIYer looks like they were making it up as they went along.
No contractor will put in a fridge where you can't even open the door all the way
This could be turned into a tourist mansion. Just need to find some historical figure that visited or once lived on that land. Great bed-n-breakfast hotel type as well.
I humristly agree.😅
You’re in a category allllll by yourself.
The transition straps for the bedrooms are tacky cheap! I actually like the kitchen cabinets. You are spot on about that closet.
You know this house is an example of “New Money”. The builder and contractor surely were unlicensed relatives of the owners, who gave them the homeboy hookup.
This house just made me dizzy no bath tubs shared bathrooms little closets and all the wasted rooms down stairs
But Congratulations to you
First of all, this house has a lot of potential. I like this house.I always wanted a house that I could have ballroom dancing.
Yes definitely a wedding venue or event property

An older person sitting on carpet covered wood benches for hours to watch movies, oh my God, the pain they'll be in.
That’s a therapy pool. Home built by someone who came into money. Looks like they entertained a lot.
The real therapy is getting up and down the steep steps to the pool 😂
The house is too big and so out of place for this neighborhood. There is hardly any backyard space. As for the indoor pool, it looks just like one of those lap pools. The kids won't like it. The house looks as if it was built by the owner of a construction company that used a mix of left over items from other builds. Everything in the home was mismatched and looked as some of it was from the clearance sections of a variety of shops.
The neighborhood alone is a deal breaker.
I would but it and rehab towards a wedding venue type set up and negotiate parking with nearby businesses
Unless they do a big reduction this house will sit for over a year. Would make a great apartment building
Thank you
This is a beautiful, elegant house in an awkward area for tt's style and size. If itcould only be picked up and moved to another area.
I think someone got this design in a divorce settlement, and it was the ex's karma joke. Turn it into apartments called Main Street X.
Yikes! That's a little TOO custom for regular living.
Some of those low chandeliers may have been under non- eating tables surrounded by furniture.
I had a second thought. There is probably no other single family home in the area that would compare at this selling price. I thought the rule was never over improve your home, check the comps in the area before you agree to build or over improve your property unless you plan to live in the home for life.
The first thing i thought was it doesnt look safe in that corner lot.All those windows!
In a reverse universe the house would have been there first and the smaller houses were bringing the numbers down in the neighborhood. That railing leading to the lower level was scary, it literally was a death trap. I do not think anyone is going to buy that house anytime soon.
Pillows go on the hard seating in the theater j😊😊
When the basement fridge breaks down, how will they replace it 🤔. You definitely can’t get it out easily if you can’t even open the doors completely.
I say over a year. All that space wasn't utilized right. It could've been done so much better.
I imagine they had theatre furniture that they took with them.
I was so excited for the new intro. . .
Is that suppose to be similar to the Endless pool? You're gonna bust your butt slipping on those narrow steps.
Hey Jonathan. I have been watching your videos for about 2 months now. I'm nowhere close to your area (I'm I NJ), but I enjoy your videos/personality. 😊
This house was definitely designed for the original owner and it will take someone similar to it (I wouldn't if I had $2.3m). I also wonder if the previous occupant took some chandeliers with them. Otherwise, the mismatch makes no sense.
Hollow core door hell.
No to No to No No no! The tile on the floor is shiny??
This house is out of place in this neighborhood. It's beautiful inside. I only see a buyer who thinks he or she wants to feel superior to the rest.
AGREE!! 100%
This seems like maybe a catering company owners home or someone who had alot of entertaining/eating or tasting events.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉congratulations onthe subscribers 👏🏼. The thumbnail picture of the house looks like an old school house or some type of commercial property.
Thank you so much!!
Italian Manor😳
Needs Upgrades & Updates‼️‼️
No one is going to buy this monstrosity. One man's dream is another's neighborhood nightmare.
I’m going to try to be as nice as I can, it seems to me that the builder had an end to builder’s surplus. At first glance, the exterior had flagstone at the gates but walls of cider block. Too much hodge podge.
Cut it up into apartments. I usually hate that, but in this case, there aren’t many options.
Yes, lottery winner or someone from American Greed. Came into a lot of money and itching to spend it. The bedrooms look like the children needed chandeliers in their bedrooms. Am I correct that there was only one bathroom on the main floor!
No, a total gut job
Take the house turn into Hotel.
The self-indulgence of these homes blows my mind. Selfish, too. I see no effort to limit power use: no solar, no mini-splits, no heat pumps, no extensive insulation, no efficient water heaters.... It's a Roman party palace, right out of the Satyricon. Why, it's even got a hang-out pool. Just needs drunk and drugged partiers in togas.
Not a Roman party palace, awaiting the 21st century' s filming of Animal House.
If I ever build a two story home the living/sleeping spaces are gonna be main floor. The entertainment is gonna be upstairs. I’m not trying to climb stairs all my life.
This house looks like one of those old homes you see that has been turned into an office for a law firm or something..
If you want, you could buy up the whole cul-de-sac and they could all move away and then you would have a bigger lot :-) put in a pond - enough said -you’re close to town
It's a monstrosity!
Demolish it and build a nice HOME in keeping with the area.
That’s an Endless Pool. I had one years ago
It looks like the people who built the house came into a large sum of money and just wanted to get everything in a home that they ever imagined they would get if they had the money so they just shoved it all in there regardless of what it look like. It could be an Airbnb if they decide not to change it but even then, it stands that this is a very very personalized house.
Thoisbis not just a house...it's the neighborhood community center..
White elephant.
