While I agree with you that liberalism in the extreme is destroying NY and the nation, that area is a fairly red voting bloc. That being said, the suspect/perpetrator’s criminal history will be the best gauge of how off the rails NY has become. If he’s been arrested 25 times, been to prison 3 times, released without bail on a number of occasions… that would be a direct consequence of the NYS Executive and legislative bodies and the soft on crime policies.

Ehhhh, I live outside Buffalo and unfortunately there are indeed pockets of blue upstate. Here, Rochester, Albany, Syracuse, Ithaca (which makes NYC look conservative), Schenectady, and, for whatever reason, a random weird county way up in the Adirondack range, Clinton County. Not enough red in the balance of our state to overcome that.
