20:56 there's a glitch where, after Ashley rides the jet ski, Leon just hovers over it and flies away stationary, leaving Ashley and the jet sky behind.
Theres also a secret where if you hold specific buttons while riding over the ramps during the jet ski segment, Leon does special moves such as a flip if I recall correctly.

I was legtimately terrified by the Regenerator, ESPECIALLY the one in the freezer.
I've never played Resi 4 but I remember watching my dad play when I was about 12. My dad is trying to get through that part when Leon first enters the castle and Salazar pops up on you commudex (or whatever its called) and taunts you. I ask my father "Why does that guy hate you." And my dad on the verge of a rage quit goes "Because he's in love with me." And I just accepted that and I still think if it everytime I hear "Mr.Kennedy".

I doubt anybody cares, but if you're curious, the mutant salamander's name is "Del Lago", which means "From the Lake". As in, the monster from the lake, "El Monstruo del Lago.". Yeah, Capcom was as creative with the names as anyone expects.

Obvious descriptive names have their uses too. If everything was a nemesis or a tyrant or a bandersnatch, it’d be hard to figure what’s what.

the helicopter might be farther away, and she used the grappling gun to grab onto the landing legs of the heli
The most logical thing I can think up was that the helicopter was hovering close enough for her to quickly reach it, yet not so close that she would be all sliced and diced if she jumped down. Instead of jumping directly to it, she jumped to a platform below where she was and from that platform went to the helicopter.

My understanding is that Saddler didn't just let Leon and Ashley leave because he needed to keep them occupied long enough for the parasite to take control. If they had been allowed to leave then they would have been able to extract the parasites with outside help. Still doesn't explain why they keep asking him to hand her over.

My own interpretation is that Leon is a mass murderer that suddenly barges in someone's house without permission so the home owner rightfully try to defend his house but Leon kills him and then proceeds to slaughter an entire village.

Fun Fact: Lord Saddler is voiced by Michael Gough, who voices in a lot of other games such as Batman: Arkham City, Gears of War: Judgment, and Skyrim! Especially Skyrim... as the Nord voices.

They attempt to kill Leon because he’s too powerful, literally there’s a note that explains that because Leon is so good at killing villagers that the infection on him may not finish before they’re all dead, besides they really want Ashley to go to infect people, Leon was more of a bonus that blew up in their face.
If I recall correctly, its because the cult wants to get some ransom money for Ashley first before they send her back. Hence why they don't just let Leon leave with Ashley all willy nilly.

The merchant from this game is such a recognizable yet never explained individual.
As amazing as this game is, I’ve always wondered that throughout the years. If the whole purpose was to infect Ashley and send her back to the US to infect her dad then why not just let them leave? Why still pursue them? Hell, that motive should’ve never even been explained so that Ashley would go back home blindly. That might’ve went over a lot of peoples heads due to how awesome this game is.
They still need to indoctrinate her into the cult. Otherwise she will immediately report to the US authorities that the cult gave her something and it's possible that the US have the tech like the PRL.
They probably needed the plagas to be fully developed in order to make em proper dormant agent.
If they went back home and found out plagas during early stages, they could try to remove the plagas, thus killing the subject.

Better yet, don't tell Ashley about the plan, but keep her with them until the government pays the ransom. She goes back and when they discover she's infected with the plaga and Saddler can now control her like a puppet, bribe the government again for some more X million dollars for the cure. Double Profit!

What always got me about this story, is that since Leon had an official escort (albeit a real small one), and had just radioed Hunnigan that Ashley had just been recovered, why wouldn't the US ask for the Spanish SWAT or military to storm the area? Not only would this be a great way for the Spanish to get some brownie points, but its also taking out a major threat to their own homeland security. Since he had passed out for 6 hours with no contact in a hostile environment, even before they secured Ashley, a US agent under the direct order of the president is a pretty big deal to just leave alone for the host nation.
If you paid attention to the lore, you would know that the game took place during the mid afternoon.

It's in Darkside Chronicles for Wii and PS3. It's a fun little story with Leon and Krauser chasing down a south american druglord. Also has retellings of RE2 and Code Veronica, which aren't super accurate because Leon is telling Krauser of these events.
