I am in a retro cheapskate phase and have a D7000 arriving tomorrow that was purchased from MPB. One thing to realize is the dynamic range of this camera rivals many newer, more expensive cameras like the D500 and D7500. And for $200 US in ex condition. Plenty of resolution to make beautiful 11x14’s.

My first dslr was the d7000. Shot my sons high school hockey career with it; 4000 iso, 1200 shutter speed, with a 55-300. Outstanding camera.

I picked up a D7000 back in 2015 when I first got into photography. Back then it was pretty new and reflected that in the price. If I were to recommend a camera to a new photographer these days I would definitely steer them in the direction of a D7000. It's a great camera, especially at the prices they're going for right now. I've since picked up a D850, but I still keep my D7000 around because it's still awesome.

This is the video that earned my sub. I have a D7000 and now, thanks to you, I have the 70-210 f4 to go with it. It just arrived today, so I haven’t had a lot of time with it, but that is one sweet lens. Thanks for reviewing “older” equipment for those of us that don’t have huge budgets to support our addiction, er, hobby. I’ve enjoyed watching several of your previous videos, keep up the great work!

I've been using D7000's since they came out; about 13 years. The biggest change to give the model new life is....software! The ability to DeNoise, and AI Sharpen really help this aging model.
I shoot everything...studio, on-location: People-Places-Products, and IF shooting below 1600 ISO, you'll get good stuff. And if you shoot RAW, and change from 8 to 16-bit, export as a TIFF or DNEG....the QUALITY is really, really good. And I cheat using many FX lenses on a DX body purposefully....altering my POV/focal lengths. The camera offers some serious bells/whistles....for cheap. I use (3) bodies concurrently. Over the years, three have died on me....nowhere near shutter limits, like less than 40k ea.

Great video as always, but I'll defend the 70-210mm f4-5.6. It's a better lens than most of what is made today, and the D version focuses super fast.
For general purpose I also like the f4 much more, though - to add that 70-210mm f/4 is just an amazing lens

Thank you for the video. I have had my D7000 for 13 years, and it has its place between the D850 and Z6II. Yes, it is an APS-C, but it's fast with the proper lens (like every camera). It's funny that ALL my Nikon cameras (except for the Z50) use the same battery, which is an advantage.

Great video. I have the Nikon D5100 which uses the same sensor as the D7000. The image quality is very good on both cameras. However, the build quality on the D7000 is far superior over the D5100. The D7000 also has an internal motor for the AF lenses for autofocus. The D5100 can only autofocus with AF-S and AF-P lenses. Great purchase on both items.

Excellent video !!!! I am considering this D7000 from MPB. However, I'd like to ask for some advice please. Also considering a D200 or the non weather sealed D80 version as both have less mega pixels, but have the CCD sensor. I have a cheap 6mp Kodak point and shoot camera with the CCD sensor and it takes surprisingly good pictures. I am leaning toward the D7000 as it has live view, 16 mp vs 10, a higher ISO range etc.. Thoughts between the D200, D80 or D7000 ? Which one would you pick if price was not a concern ?
