I’ve flown them before. I’ve actually flown in that exact plane before. It’s worth it when the price is right. You can sometimes find flights for only $99-$150 one way and it’s definitely worth it. The LAS terminal is one of the biggest terminals they have. It was the main terminal for the airline after all (now that has become Dallas where they’re main headquarters are). They emphasize the 20min pre arrival time bcuz they don’t want you sitting there forever with nothing to do haha. You can also choose to not pay for a seat but you’ll be put in one that is randomly available. If it’s any consolation though the receptionists tend to fill the bigger (double depending on if it’s an older plane or not) seats first if they are available. I say if you’re flying alone don’t bother picking a seat. They almost never put you with a stranger. Half the planes don’t even have double seats, they have the tabled seats instead I’ve flown a tabled seated plane as well. It was nice being in that big seat but I’m a small person so I didn’t care for it as much as someone else would. Snacks and drinks are complimentary and bottomless so it’s a nice trade off for a max 2.5hr flight imo. Some lounges are nicer than others and another nice bonus is that there is no restrictions to what you can bring on the plane in terms of food. A lot of people will show up with like in n out and just eat it on the plane. I had a nice big boba drink. Plus I was able to bring my makeup without worrying about liquid capacity so that was nice All in all it’s worth it for the price if you care about comfort/convenience but if you care more about price then you may wanna go for a cheaper option. It’s only a 3hr flight so no one would blame you for flying for less Hope this helps :)
My friend flies JSX from Dallas and loves them. I really appreciated your video and your comments afterwards and, like you, if the prices are pretty reasonable, we will definitely try it… anything to avoid the large airport hassle.
@@jimkotrla3417 When I posted that a year ago it was not a mistake when I stated they fly from Austin to Vegas. They were flying out an FOB at the south end of ABIA. Look at the date I posted my comment.
I plan to fly JSX from Phoenix to Las Vegas round-trip in the next few months. I'm ready now but going through training at work. No more all day driving. JSX sounds like the way to go.
Thanks for the stellar flight report! One downside to the hangar experience: forfeit access to credit card lounges. Then again, the Centurion lounge at LAS is beyond appalling and SAN has sparse lounge offerings pending that Sapphire lounge opening.
@@MaxMilesPoints JSX operates out of Love Field in Dallas. Round trip it was $838/each with tax and premium seat selection. Last time we booked Vegas on American Airlines, 1st Class Seats were going for $1,350/each... So we decided to try something new.
If you think about it, it's the long lines, dragging a bag thru long terminals and crowds that make travel time-consuming and exhausting, so when you can just walk up, jump on, then relax and watch the view. It's lovely. And yes, it's a bit more $, but how much am I worth an hour... :)
Flew JSX for the first time by accident. Ever since I loved it. In and out, no TSA, no long lines no dealing with lots of people .its expensive and well worth it for me. Spacious and yes its pretty private
I’m thinking of flying this next weekend from Houston to Dallas. $139 tickets, 45 min flight. Really just for the hell of it and it’s not much more expensive than Southwest

They offered me a small bottle of H2O. It also made me realize how much useless $$ I usually spend when I get past TSA Precheck. Books, drinks at the bar, snacks to take on the flight. Stupid stuff lol. For what you pay In convenience on JSX is significantly less than what you spend anyways when you actually get into the terminal. Would take again, I wish they had a San Antonio route. But I don’t think they do it would be perfect
@@alexruttenberg9567 I got bored about 3 weeks ago and wanted to see what all the fuss was about “Spirit” airlines. So I literally said “Fuck it, let’s book some shit.” I booked a flight from Houston to Boston, $289 bucks for what their version of the “Premium Economy” seat is. Basically the first like 6 seats with a divider and oversized. I shit you not one of the best actual flights I’ve had. Service wise- it wasn’t bad either. Now in the back is a whole different story lmao.
I only fly with JSX now, the convenience of just showing up 30 mins before the flight and your bags being handed to you as soon as you exit the plane, to me is worth every penny. I don't care about luxury, I just care about a "stress free" flight experience. Again, that alone sells it for me.
This is the only airline that I could find a reasonable cost for flying with medium-large pet dogs in cabin. With all major airlines only allowing service dogs (not even ESAs) you're limited on options for bringing fido. And the expedited boarding and low crowd experience is ideal for lowering travel stress with pets. I just wish they had a direct flight cross country. We are currently booked on two separate flights to hop-skip cross country- total cost is on par with a first class ticket on a major airline.
Cargos can be dangerous, and/or trauma inducing for most pets. It’s especially worse for longer duration flights. Some people care or can afford to care more for their pet.
JSX no longer flies to San Diego but has instead moved its operations to Carlsbad which is convenient if you live from LaJolla north to LaCosta. I’m hopeful that JSX can once again return to SAN as it’s a more logical choice for me
It is. You’re paying for not having to go through the regular terminal and deal with long security lines and lost baggage basically. Kinda cool. I’m interested.
Did I miss it, but you never explained why it was better to sit on the left flying from Las Vegas to San Diego. Was it to see the Southwest Airline plane on the other strip? 😁
Oops I should’ve explained that better , you get awesome views of the water and the city. You fly almost eye level with some of the high rises downtown San Diego
Nice review! I'm a JSX superfan. When ya know, ya know ;) You're right about the seat upcharge being off brand. I was surprised to see that when booking recently. It really detracts from the experience. The brand permeates all of their customer touch points and should be treated accordingly. I don't think they were doing that last year, but I may have forgotten. There's no bad seats on the plane anyway, so I'd never pay a penny more just to pick one out.
Flying from PHX to BOI would be the only reason I'd use them, it is basically a non stop flight for 2hrs. I'd fly if they had that route. I'm a Southwest Airlines flyer so, it's pretty convenient for me if JSX would add that hub
I mean, it’s a lot less than charter planes but I guess it might still be for well off flyers and Rich flyers. But you know at the same time if you’re someone who is visually impaired like me, you don’t have to worry about finding your gate at a regular airport, and then have to go through the whole process. I mean it could make someone who is visually impaired anxious. From a visually impaired persons perspective you’re kind of paying for accessibility.
JSX has completely spoiled me and I will only fly them if they have one where I am going. I recently flew sna to reno and going to Tahoe has never been easier.
Honestly, it looks pretty underwhelming...they didn't charge a lot more than the other major airlines and it shows. Not having any snacks at the lounge was "criminal". I guess the way JSX sees it, you really paid for speed of check in and boarding, not to spend time hanging out at the lounge. However, just having coffee & tea is not enough. I'm not expecting hot food, but give your passenger something to eat at least. That grocery receipt boarding pass was just Eff-up. How cheap can you go? Nothing looks like a premium experience at all; especially when some of their jets are plastered with cheap advertisements. JSX basically leased some available hangers and created their own mini terminal for their own aircraft. You're just basically avoiding the crowds and have a quicker check in experience, but it is not considered in the premium category at all.
I would fly with them when they come to my city.. Airport and TSA is a joke… miss the old days prior to 911.. hopping on an airplane from your house within 30-45 mins was a dream. But all good dreams you eventually have to wake up from..
I wonder what the safety of this operation is compared to flying Delta or Southwest with precheck and airline lounges. OK you can show up later...but the majors are extremely safe.
I had texas troopers accuse me of being high at love field then they accused me of smoking marijuana at home and they don't like it. I told them it is legal where I live whether or not Texas likes it is irrelevant they can't enforce Texas laws in Colorado or vice versa. Personally, I think Boutique Air would give a more private flight feeling than JSX. No need to spend "Hundreds of thousands of dollars" as is claimed here.. However, Boutique Air is objectively a horrible company, which is too bad because it has a really intriguing concept!
Wouldn't that hanger be federal jurisdiction and if they suspected marijuana was crossing state lines the feds should have investigated. I don't like cops going out of their jurisdiction. If they thought I was high they should have arrested me for public intoxication if they thought they could win in court
