    I ended up going with a CT9 and have not been disappointed at all. I have a 31" draw so the CT5 was out for me. I think the main point of this video is that basically everything being made today is of extremely high quality and people should shoot a few and pick what they like.

    I shot most of these bows and the SR6 was my number one by far. Could not believe the way this bow performed. Total beast of a bow. Shoots unbelievable groups at long range. First bow I’ve had that holds 8 or 9 inch groups at 100 yards.

      So...you've got me thinking. I just sent out some emails for bows in the $400-600 range. PSE is on board and I've got a Mission MXR ready to go. Waiting on two other brands to respond. I'm hoping to hear back from them soon, as I want to get this out ASAP.

    For value you did not take into consideration that with Mathews Vertix you can easily change the draw weight but changing the mods. This can easily be performed in the field with just a screwdriver.

    • @ArcheryTalkVideo
      @ArcheryTalkVideo  5 лет назад

      The Switchweight technology is interesting. I didn't think much about being able to change it in the field, as I figure most will find the weight they like best and stay there for a while. And you can adjust any bow's draw weight in the field...but you do have to back our the limbs.

    • @Petro00D
      @Petro00D 5 лет назад

      I thought of this from the standpoint of being able to change draw weight depending on what one is doing or hunting. Can drop Dow for 3D. Or 50 pounds for turkey. 60 pounds for white tail and 75 pounds for elk. Do not need multiple bows at different weights.

    • @ArcheryTalkVideo
      @ArcheryTalkVideo  5 лет назад +1

    • @westondick4548
      @westondick4548 5 лет назад

      Gary Gendreau Mathews mods run a little long so it wasn’t a true even draw length. It gains a little speed with the extra draw length

    • @ArcheryTalkVideo
      @ArcheryTalkVideo  5 лет назад

      Weston is correct. All the info is in the speed video I did a little while back. Basically, the Vertix runs a half-in longer than the other bows, so it needs to get 4 to 6 fps penalty.

Though I seem to recall when the 2020 bows came out last fall that the numbers were a lot more tame than in 2019 and prior years. Ugh couldn't disagree more on the vertix draw cycle. I wanted to love that bow because i love the switch weight technology and the new dovetail mount for the rest but that bow was miserable to draw, for me at least. I thought the helix was best, evoke behind that, and the realm on comfort setting was reminiscent of my reign 6.

    Mathews or Hoyt they have proven themselves to be the top of the game year in and year out consistently but sooner or later Bowtech or Obsession maybe even Bear will rise up to the top. To me it will be Mathews only bc year in andd year out their grips have always felt the best in my hand. While others seem to fit but are putting pressure in the wrong places in my palm making it uncomfortable. Either way all major bow companies are making great bows it all depends on your personal preferences or opinions not anyone elses. For me grip is number one over everything else bc truthfully you can’t make a bow fast enough to beat a whitetail string jumping.

      Getting 323fps out of my FX30 at 81lbs, 29" draw and 485gr arrow. I dont really look at chrono results because chronos have too many variables that go into place to get consistent numbers. Plus you are paying the same amount of money across the board other than hoyts carbon line. If I was paying extra for obsessions advertised speeds then that's one thing but you arnt paying any extra and even if they are off you are still getting speeds around bowtech and faster than the hoyt and mathews. Most importantly no matter what anyone says, the best thing to do is go out and shoot as many modles you can get you hand on and go with what fits YOU like a glove!
