If Mathews would start using decent strings and cables, I might consider going back to them. I bought my First Mathews back in 2002. Every Mathews bow I've owned, I had to pay almost two hundred bucks to have aftermarket strings and cables installed. I've never had problems with PSE or Bowtech factory strings.
Still using the same ole '17 Impulse 34@62lbs. To date; 100% pass-throughs, 100% very short recoveries. 110% satisfied. The latest tech is facinating none the less.
Bowtech's cam adjustment is the innovation bow hunters desire. That's a big enough innovation to buy a new bow. Even if the Mathews is a better shooter, I'd go with the Bowtech because I don't have a bow vice, and not knowing that the cams were center would bother me.
Vxr28, 75# mods, victory vap 300 .166 with annihilator broad heads is what I’m taking on both my hunts this September. 👍 I shot hoyts line up along with prime, pse, and bowtech. I liked the idea of switching out the mods. It’s something I can do very easily from hunting deer, to large game. Very quiet fast and accurate. So I agree
Pretty sure a good Archer could do well with any of these, or other, bows. It's not the bow that makes your shots good, it's your technique. If your shots aren't landing where you want, it's probably not the bow.
He lets a hooter shooter do the accuracy test. Sure, anyone could do well with any of these but he's finding the best based on feel, performance and features. It's not really saying any of them are bad bows because every company makes a good bow now
Whether Hoyt decided to send one or not, you should have bought one to make this a comprehensive review... if the true goal was to figure out what was really the best bow
I love and trust these reviews... I bought a bowtech reign 6 a year after its release because it won top place the year it was reviewed on this channel... I keep it in a cluttered cupboard and hike to my archery club with the bow being compressed and bumped around in a 35 litre backpack... (yes in and not strapped outside of) but as reviewed on this channel it had the best new tech at the time and is both Hardy and easy to shoot for a "hunting/speed bow"... after 3-4 year with the same strings from manufacturer it still does the job... Many thanks for the review that lead to my purchase!! Solid advice and come the time I buy a new bow.. I will be consulting this channel!! 👍

Great reviews! Just when you think bows cant get any better engineers surprise us! I have been a bow hunter for a long time now, but is it just me or do some of these guys get way too into relaxing the left hand to let the bow fall forward after release? I agree proper grip and a relaxed left hand are very important, but if you look in slow motion it doesn't make any difference if you are letting the bow fall forward because the arrow is completely gone! I feel like these guys do it more for show than anything.
It's supposed to be a technique I've seen used in recurve and traditional bows. Some of the traditional bows even swing 180 deg on the vertical axis after firing.

@@Rcol4427 it's a decent bow but why would I pay for a bow that's 1200 and isnt an upgrade from the previous year, same with the hoyt RX4 1700 for a draw stop change
Aiden Stephenson as these bows become more and more advanced, your not going to see major differences year by year. The technology is is too advanced. Why are you buying a new bow if you have last years model? The differences (no matter what brand you buy) are not substantial enough. I went from my switchback to the new VXR. This bow was thirteen years old. Same with my crossbow.... went from a ghost 410 to a Tenpoint Nitro XRT. Major differences
Aiden Stephenson i don’t know much about Hoyt but you cant compare bow prices based on the differences year by year. The average hunter wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if they were blindfolded. The prices are based on many factors including technology. $1200.00 for the bow that would last 10-12 years seems reasonable to me. ..but that’s just me.

It's all about who pays you.
You get a few Free bows and you claim these are the top bows. When you leave out some of the top bows in the industry how can you call this TOP Bows?
You lost my respect and my subscription
Some notable bows were indeed missing but this test has nothing to do with "payment" on any level. Hoyt, Obsession, and Prime were asked to participate by sending a bow; both Hoyt and Obsession declined the invitation and the Prime bow, unfortunately, showed up after our testing was complete; we would have loved to have included the new Black 3 that was sent...
How dare you not pick the bow Steve Davis likes!!🤣
The Hoyt RX4 isnt really that good though
VXR isnt really that good for the price
Aiden Stephenson would it be good if it was cheaper?? Doesn’t make sense. It’s either good or its not!
@@Rcol4427 hoyt hasnt had a decent hunting bow cam since the carbon spider era
Aiden Stephenson i don’t know much about Hoyt but you cant compare bow prices based on the differences year by year. The average hunter wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if they were blindfolded. The prices are based on many factors including technology. $1200.00 for the bow that would last 10-12 years seems reasonable to me. ..but that’s just me.
